So they must have done something serious because i've been unplugged for 15hrs 48min and have 60% battery remaining. Before the update i was lucky to pull 8 hours.
my battery life was amazing as well i went about 19hrs off an on use, text some internet, made some calls....my two spare batteries i got from ebay are now looking like i may not need them lol.
i just popped in one of them and i am going to compare how they stack up against the orig. but for 10.00 two batteries and a batt charger i cant complain

Hi,
I am getting a MDA and i want to get the ultimate battery life out of it. So it should be arriving soon, and i want to know how to start getting the most out of it. I have looked on the board at the horror stories of batteries lasting not so long. I have experienced that as well.
This is a replacement unit for a USED MDA that i bought. So i have no idea how the previous owner charged it. But i get only about a 24hrs out of it with hardly any use on it besides a few calls.
I will not open the unit till i get a few replies on the initial charge and charging thereof.
Please post your battery life and how you charged and continue to charge the battery and phone now.
I plug my phone into the wall.
It's a good idea to charge the battery completely before using the device, then do not charge it again until it dies. Run at least several cycles like this - this helps the battery last longer in the future.

Ya, after searching through the threads i get mixed opinions. Some say do that. Others say keep it tipped off. I am in half a mind.
pda battery is a bit different from phone battery.
while new phone battery need to charge at least 10hrs in order to achieve max performance, is it different with pda battery.
you dont have to charge that long before you use it. just make sure it is fully charge and when you are not using ur wizard, just plug in to ur usb cable. the more you charge it the longer it will last.
I wouldnt worry too much, replacement batteries can be obtained from Ebay for about 14 quid.
I basically have mine connected to my PC all day so it never really gets very low apart from at the weekend when I'm not at work but the charge will usually last the weekend unless I do a lot of wireless surfing.
i fully charge mine every few days. i seem to get a decent battery life off of it with moderate use (about 60 mins worth of phone calls a day, texting, mp3 player for 20 mins a day, gprs/wifi for about 10 mins a day) i have quite a few programs on it that would drain the battery moreso, but at the end of the day ive usually got about 60% battery left. my phone is only 3 months old mind.
if i forget to charge it, and whilst in the office, a simple case of plugging it into the pc keeps it topped up
I've just bought a 3600mAh battery by Sino Cameron from Ebay, and followed the manufacturers recommendation to fully charge it before using it in my IIi.
I have also cycled it 5 or 6 times now and i still cannot get it to last any longer than my OEM 1300mAh battery. It doesn't take too long to charge up and the OEM battery is lasting a bit longer than the new one even though i've had it over a year. I've tried charging it through my alpine and in the spare slot on the OEM charger but it still makes no difference.
Does the battery need cycling a few more times or does it need more use?
Do i need a different charger?
Could it be a faulty battery?
Is it my IIi that's the issue?
I was expecting the battery to be effective from day one, last at least twice as long +, and be a significant improvement on my old OEM battery. I have read a couple of reviews about their 2400mAh battery lasting almost twice as long as the OEM battery, and i was thinking my new battery would be even better than that but i have to say i feel pretty well dissapointed.
Any suggestions before i send this battery back to the retailer would be appreciated, and has anyone else had a similar issue?
Sorted!!
Great News.....
I got the retailer to exchange the battery for another one and BINGO!! This one is working as intended and is lasting about 2.5 times longer than the standard 1300mAh battery.
So it was a faulty battery after all and thats a big relief. I have to sing the batterys praises as it truly does do what it says on the tin and i cannot believe how long i can leave my IIi on in standby phone mode, and the battery indicator hardly moves in hours!!
Excellent battery, highly recommended
Bought a spare battery for Desire HD, mainly to have with me when at football as one battery through the day is simply not enough
Question is, if i charge a battery up, how long will that battery keep its charge whilst not in the phone. Has anyone got any examples of timings and performance. Both batteries are official 1200mAh batteries.

But since all that's not viable in real life or worth it, I store my battery at 100%. Quite a few times I've used my spare battery a week or so after charging it, and it showed 98-99% when I put it in the phone. Of course that's the phone's reported battery percentage which can be erratic and fluctuate a lot, but when I checked the battery voltage it hadn't decreased by much.
I have 2 spare batteries, both older than my active battery and one slightly bloated and not the best to use (the one I got with the phone). Both are OEM 1230 mAh. I last charged them a week back and didn't use them after. These are the voltages measured with a multimeter as of now -
1st spare battery (1 year 10 months old) - 4.18V
2nd spare battery (1 year 2 months old) - 4.2V
As you can see, that's hardly any decrease in the first one and almost nothing in the second one, considering a full charge is 4.2V (4.204V to be exact). I carry them around with me when I'm outside, so they're exposed to some amount of body heat and ambient heat when the weather is hot. Like I said before, I last charged them one after the other a week ago or a little more than that, and they haven't been used since. So you shouldn't see any significant voltage drop unless you don't use the spare battery for a month or more.
Just in case you weren't aware of this, you can check your battery voltage from your phone easily by keying in *#*#4636#*#* in the dialer and choosing 'battery information'.

The battery will retain its charge and best way is to flash a custom ROM like TrickDroid(Sense 4.0). I have it and battery is amazing even with heavy usage.
Okay I googled this and I have gotten mixed results some saying that lithium ion batteries doesn't need to be charged for hours while others are actually saying it's still needed or let it drain to 20 % charge to 100% then drain to 20% then charge to 80% i did Google lithium ion batteries it did say they don't need to be charged for hours but every device I have brand new or not including my brand new iPod 6 I have now don't ask I'm leaving iOS actually lol all have poor battery life so I need to stop blaming the manufacturers and start blaming myself lol please any help would be appreciated

For the 1st Time or after You Flashed any ROM/Firmware You Should Complete 3 Complete Cycles of Battery To Get The Best Results...
Charge 100% To Discharge 5% (Do Complete 3 Cycles )
Regarding Charging You will Not be need to Put Note 4 All Night Charging or Stuff like More Charging Then 1:30hours,Because it Have Adaptive Fast Charging Battery Will Charge in 1:30Hours & Give you 5:30hours SOT (it Depends on your usage also)...
Now Mostly Smartphones Have Built-in Feature To Stop Charging When It's Fully Charged...So No Need To Worry...But Every Battery Have Some Cycles when You reach that then battery will drain Fast or we can say You'll be in Condition to replace the Battery...But Will Easily Last for 2 or 3 Years To be Weak on...
Hope will Solve your issue
Okay thanks so much so basically I'll charge it to 100% without using it I'm guessing it's a quick charge so it wouldn't be an issue for me then use it to 5% 3 times sorry I'm a.d.d. So had to make sure I read what you said correctly and I'm not sure if I'm gonna root it when I get it phones no days are actually beginning to meet my standards speed wise lol thanks for the info
I've found no noticeable difference in following different guides on charging. Turn off fast charging when not required as that'll duff up your battery in 6 months.. Normal charging provides a nice slow rate and ensures they don't get hot which degrades them. A new battery will take a few full charges to get to full strength.
A new battery is like £!2. Don't worry about doing rain dances and such like!
Batteries used to hold a memory effect which made it look full before it actually was - this isn't the case anymore.
Fast charging gives me an hour less per day over constant charging normally. Note sure what others have found. I charge overnight hence turning off fast charge, and have a couple of spares ready to go should I need it.
i charge 14 hours and then use it normally. no need for anything more than that.
Hi guys, about a month ago accidentally I dropped my phone, when I picked it up it was a bit thicker than usually so I opened it and the battery was a bit swollen and one of the corners from above was broken imgur.c om/a/KMLiaG2 . I knew that the swollen batteries should be changed because the risk of getting on fire or explosion, so I bought a new battery from a Telekom Shop, the only shop with batteries from my city imgur.c om/a/GOCQktK . I noticed that the new battery made in china is suddenly draining fast when reaches 37% and dies when it reaches 30%. I did numerous battery calibrations, deleting batterystats.bin, letting it in charge over night, factory resetting my phone but it was useless. It was still dying at 30%. I was going back to that shop and they ordered a new battery to change the defective one. After 3 days it arrived and guess what, this battery is draining fast as well, when reaches 25% till 5% and dies. If I use my old battery it still working good. I can use it 6-7 hours with no problems, but the batteries made in china are keeping about 3-4 hours till it start to drain fast. What's the problem? My phone has become accustomed to the old battery? For real now, 2 new battery in row and both of them are defective? Also, I noticed today that the new battery was 20% while charging, so I restarted the phone and it was 52%. Also, how is possible that my phone with new battery shows that the apps that use my battery are only 50%? I know that about 15% is used by phone background, but what is using the rest of 35%? imgur.c om/a/DEvd4F what's the problem??
That's just typical of cheap batteries. Unless you order an original online than your wasting your time.
Look up other manufacturers aswel with a good reputation.
