LEDs Hack supports Evo - EVO 4G General

for those that don't know - LEDs Hack is a free program that allows you to turn your leds on or off at will. this includes notification leds and the menu leds.
the downside is that to get it to work properly you need to have super use 2.0.3. DC has 2.1.1 installed.
this is great for reading in the dark or watching movies, no more light bleeding into the right side!

Might I suggest incredilight. It does the dame thing and has adjustable intensities and works with any and all root access(unrevoked or normal)

Led Desire is extremely impressive also

Edit: something out in left field.

Im not super knowledgeable on LED's but i would imagine its not a good idea to leave them on for an extended period of time...

Edit: ... again, useless post cause I can't read.

the op isnt talking about a flash light he's talking about disabling the light from the capacitive buttons at the bottom of the screen for when hes watching movies..etc

yes, it for the menu/home button lights. it's not a flashlight app.

incredilight is my prefered choice

LED Notifications Pointless?

Is there a way to assign a certain color/pattern to a particular event?
Right now, I have no idea what the lights are indicating.
Anyone else have a better experience with this feature?
Also, I can't even see them cuz they are on the side! Can they get bright?
I believe there is, though I can't help you since I haven't got mine yet
I remember seeing a review where the guy was changing the status LED's. You sure it's not in the manual?
Yeah they are pretty crap, along with the panels and the 'charging via usb from a pc'!
Though I really like my Xperia alot, I have to admit that LED notifications are not very helpful. It's not possible to change them - they are predefined for a couple of events without any possibility to be modified.
Changing the LED's should be possible with PhoneAlarm. But I am still waiting for my X1, it is on the way, but therefore I can't tell you exactly.
if you want too see what the leds dothen why haven't you gone into start>settings>system illumination
it shows you!
I'm sure this feature is modable, then I'm 'officially' request an app to enable customizing LED illumination
I find them useful ... especially when the battery is running low.
ideally I just want something that flashes clearly to say I have a new message or glows red to say the battery is low.
The location and brightness of the leds is dreadful.
Leds 'are' for the night and muted sounds mode

AGREED .
If you look in the registry at 'HKCU/Software/SonyEricsson/Illumination' there are some hex codes for different alert. Maybe someone with the right know how could whip up a little prog to modify them. Of course he woule first need to figure out what combination of hex number coraspondsto what colour the lights flash and how long they stay on
I would have to say the LED's are a bit pointless for most notifications u do have to look at the display. I would say the fish are more useful in letting u know the battery is dead then the LED's....

X1 Illumination control

HI guys.
Does anyone have any idea how to make control of the X1 illumination LEDs in normal state ?
Because to see the phone while it's in the dark or at night.
My last phone before Xperia X1 is SE W900i. The small LED at the side of it make me easily to identify my phone when it's in the dark especialy at night.
In summary, I need to keep the X1 illumination LED blink every time when the phone is ON.
This is just a small thing.
I've found something in registry editor at :HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SonyEricsson\Illumination\Patterns
Buy I dont know how to deal with it.
use XperiaTweak in options it has a possibility to manage leds
Xperiatweak will not give him the ability to have the LEDS always on.
What I suggest is you send yourself a text message or something and never open it.
I turned my whole ullumination off because I hated it at night. ^^
i find it usfull at night as i keep my phones volume low and just have to look at it to see if i have a missed anything or if its still charging
I'd love to see some registry entries which controls the leds. =)
it would be nice to make own patterns. why didn't they make the all the side en not at the top en end i like the leds and find them usefull.
I would absolutely love a function to stop power waste when your battery is low. Yes, i responded to the 'low battery' message already. No, i don't need flashing lights, buzzes or beeps to remind me and further waste the power. Request for Xperia Tweak to have a "disabled" setting in the LED lighting menus!

You can already do this via the built-in functions (no need for a tweak program at all)
Settings > System Tab > Illumination ... uncheck the "Enable illumination" box

I already done it, But the LED is disapear for no reason even when set at Sounds & Notifications to put it on for no limited time.
Also, it would be really cool if:
- The leds are creating ambi-light for your movies.
- The leds as a visualizer for my music..
i would looooveeee to have my LEDs read out my sms using morse code.....
Hmm.. But seriously.. I'd love if I could have the leds pulsate like "low battery" but in purple or green color when idle.
I'm also interested in this, just wish i knew where to start lol

well would there be a way of making the led's act as a service light? like on the 8925 and 8525 they both would have a led light that blinks when you had service.
I'm also looking for a way of changing led colors in the registry

X10 switch off the front LEDs

Got my X10 recently, nice phone
There is a niggle though: is it possible to switch off the front LEDs on the X10? Google Sky is fun and is nice when you switch on night mode, but as soon as you press a button (e.g. to search) the LEDs come on and bang goes your night vision...
What do you mean? You mean the notification led on the front? If it is, just search the market for Blink application.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Not the notification led; I'm talking about the two bright white less between the three buttons at the bottom of the phone
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Yeah your right. The lights sometimes bother my eyes but i use my thumb to cover them up
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
is there a fix for this? the front lights are so annoying
well..you could flash some 2.2 ROM and install some theme for it as a result of which those led are disabled
The front button LEDs, oddly, are controlled by the framework-res.apk.
Don't know anything more helpful than that, just giving you a clue!

Any concrete idea ? i mean a clue
I've found a way to turn off the lights between the keys
I've just got my x10 and I love it... Apart from those leds between the keys that can be a pain. I couldn't find a way to switch them off
After finding this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7003710 and this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=711847 and some experimentation I found a way to turn off those bright lights between the keys:
1. install gscript lite from market and run it once, this should create a directory gscript on your sdcard
2. install text editor from market
3. create a text file and put these lines in it.
chmod 644 /sys/class/leds/lv5219lg:sled
echo 0 > /sys/class/leds/lv5219lg:sled/brightness
4. save the file as "buttonled.sh" in sdcard/gscript
5. long press on the home screen and select shortcut, gscript lite, menu, add script, load file, buttonled.sh, save, buttonled.
6. press the new icon on your screen.
The lights will now stay off until after a reboot
This might need root to run I'm not sure (I'm on the TEAM v2.0 2.3.3 ROM) I'd imagine it'll work on most if not all gingerbread roms and possibly froyo as well?
credit to Philosuffer and juanjitos as without their posts i wouldn't have been able to do this.
Hope this helps.
Cheers

[Q]

Where might I try poking around if I wanted to have the trackball, and the call and end buttons light up with the screen turning on?
Sent from my FroShedYo V10-ERIS using XDA App
on cm roms (like Froyoshedyo), i believe your question was how to make the buttons light up when your phone screen turns on. I dont know if there is a way to turn on the trackball light? probably a program in the market. as for the answer/end and soft keys, home screen->menu->settings.>cyanogenmod settings->user interface->automatic backlight->check use custom under light levels. then go to edit other levels. column on the right is buttons, 255 is on and 0 is off. set them all to 255 to have the front lights turn on whenever your phone screen is on. sorry I cant help with the trackball. also, please post questions in the q&a section in the future. thanks.
Thanks for the reply but my question is deeper than just the settings. I want to edit the system files which control these lights. I don't really like the softkey lights so I wont mess with them. If you've used kaos gingerbread you'll notice they don't light up. Just the answer and end keys do.
Im aware of covedesign from the market. I don't know if pulling it apart will show me where to look but I might try if no one else knows where to look.

ah. sorry didn't realize. LEDs Hack is another program on the market that I use to kill my LEDs when my eris is plugged in. the eris is not officially supported but the "sprint htc hero" (not sprint htc hero android 2.2) works for the eris leds. it has an option for trackball led, but it doesnt seem to work for the eris. it can turn various leds on, off, and change state based on different circumstances such as plugging in or time ranges. perhaps the developer would have some idea where to point you. http://www.danvelazco.com

[REQ] Notification Light

*Hope this is a right tag*
Anyway what the Galaxy S2 is missing is notification for missed calls, email. sms etc. Many of you might know of lilHermit who made the awesome Trackball Alert Pro for the Nexus One. https://market.android.com/details?...droid.TrackballAlertPro&feature=search_result
Well he has made a similar app for the LG Optimus 2X which flashes the led buttons for notification and he is willing to bring it to the Galaxy S2
Once its done and working on the LG2X I'll work on adding SGS2 support. I've written it modular so adding support for extra phones will not mean a major rewrite.
Although I don't think the SGS2 will be easy looking at the kernel.

Cool stuff although there is an app called 'Flashnotify' on the market which does this already and works with SGS2.
But what is he going to work on ? I mean there is no led or track ball in G S2 for him to work on.
Or am i missing something big

Damn forgot about it.
there was an app for dell streak.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.StreakLEDFREE&feature=search_result
Update : tested . does not work for s gs2
good to hear and nice to know
Since the screen is AMOLED and since you can turn on red/blue pixels individually and they take very little power. A better idea might be to actually put something on the screen instead.
That would be NoLED
More promising imho would be to change the management of the capacitive buttons to be lit while phone is sleeping. Lighting them when phone is on is easy so patterns could be used for notifications.
I'm a fan of the NoLED app for notifications but I would certainly like to see a capacitive button notification like on the LG2X (I had one a couple of months back but sent it back as faulty and got my SGS2)
You want BLN, which was being worked on by neldar.
Akent started putting it to SGS2, but it's not fully (at all?) working.
https://github.com/akent/samsung-kernel-galaxysii
some stuff is disabled when the phone is not connected to usb thus the led don't turn on when the phone is off / stuff don't work (did check in that git and it doesnt fix it)
til someone has time to figure it out, no bln. i think neldar has been busy, and so am i, these days at least

Turns on the whole screen. Utterly useless also.
Still nothing? I really miss this and we're waiting for ages – is anyone still working on BLN or are there any problems/is it impossible?
I'd be more than happy to donate a beer or coffee to whoever gets BLN working on the SGS2
Too bad the central hardware button doesn't have a light, it would have been like the N1 TB, but hey it will be sufficiant to have the left and right lights working already
are you working on it?? I will buy it with pleasure from market, donate your work would be pleasure for this notification light!!! I'm waiting for the result....??????????????
