I had been using a custom version of TSowen's taskbar mod. It's worked great for a few months, but very recently the signal meter changed to what looks like something reminiscent of a broken jpeg icon (I can't find an image of it or I'd link it). If I uninstall the custom taskbar, the standard signal meter works great.
Now the odd thing is, if I try to install any other custom taskbar, the phone continues to display the standard signal meter next to the new custom icons for the rest of the taskbar.
I've searched and searched and can't seem to locate anyone else with a problem with their signal meter icon like this. I've tried hard resetting and even reflashing with the 6.5 Sprint rom, but this problem persists! My wife has the same phone with the same stock ROM and custom taskbar and hers works fine!
Anyone have any ideas of how to troubleshoot or resolve this? I'm stumped!

I did... it's too early to say anything... device seems a bit faster but same is the case when you reflash any new rom...

Opera beta has got font problems in the address bar with this new update
Did the update last night - mainly due to the fact my M5000 kept trying to connect with the internet and running up a £100 wap data bill for February. (God knows how I managed to use 38mb of wap, but Orange are looking into it!)
Anyway, I thought I'd post my findings so far:
Device does seem quicker, menu's pop up faster and I've yet to see the "loading" symbol once!
different front end when you configure the device; new windows mobile blue splash screen.
U symbol on the top bar has been replaced by a 3G symbol.
seems to be a new battery/charger symbol on the top bar aswell
I don't know whether the device lock option for the today screen was in the previous rom (I can't remember seeing it, or using it) but it's definately there now.
New "Comm Manager". New interface thats replaced the old Phone/Bluetooth/Wifi switcher program. There seems to be a few new options on this. I have'nt played around with it yet but it comprises of: Phone/Bluetooth/Wifi as before but now also has a PDA symbol, Sound/vibrate option, activesync, and Message symbol (which is probably linked to the new push email facility (not tried that yet either!)
Thats about all I've found so far.
However here's a couple of strange things that have happened since the update:
Activesync set up quite easily (I know that's strange in itself!) but it would not allow me to sync my Outlook contacts back to the device. I had to use a contact back up program I got off the BuzDev website. This was'nt a problem for me before.
The other one is I had quite a few tsk files in my windows/documents folder before the update. All of which disappeared after the update except one. Silverado.tsk. Now I got that file originally by using Wisbar Advance 2 and WAD and It's confusing me as to how it was still on the device. Either it has stayed on the device after the update somehow or Orange have shipped this with the new rom??
Anyone shed any light on this or am I being the complete noob that I am?
I backed up my M5000 with SPBBackup and then proceeded to install the Orange update. Failed the first time, but succeeded the second time around.
Tried to restore my files, and SPBBackup says should not restore as backup from different system -- did a restore anyway. Upon reset, M5000 hangs and hangs and hangs. Just will not start up.
Any help or advice is welcome.
So at the end of the day is it worth upgrading? Has anyone else tried the upgrade?

I upgraded Saturday and have been quite impressed so far. Seems to resolve issues I was having with menu options not appearing on the bottom notifications bar and a few other gripes.
The changed icons on the top appear to be what we should have had according to the Orange M5000 manual (M5000 MUG UK_GraySacle.pdf).
Performance is improved in so much that the device is more responsive.
Only strange behavior is Magic Button not working quite the same! But i can live with it
Is worth upgrading? YES YES YES
But allow 2 hours to do a thorough job, and write down the key s/w you've installed so that you can reinstall what you really want
And lastly, i have had no issue by upgrading Radio V1.09 on top of the updated ROM etc.
What about those with o2 Execs, with either the RC1 or official new imate ROMs...like me.
Does anyone who DID have this ROM find any advantage in the Orange one, over the iMate?

Hard reset, and don't use your old backup. It will not work!

I just installed the TMobile ROM 2.26. I read a hundred posts where people did not like the battery indicator and how to remove it from the top. However, I am in the minority and I kind of like the battery indicator along with the clock right next to it.
Is there any way to way to enable the indicator along with the clock?

got it working on mine..had to switch off and back on though.
My nexus one always crashes when i put my face on the screen or even hand . He just lose signal and the call crashes. but if i am not calling and put my hand on the screen the signal remains same.
It happens only with sense ROM´s (i tried evil NXsense, Super hybrid). When I use cyanogen i have got no problem (I usualy have strenght of signal something about 90 dB).
I tried radio 4.06 and now I am using 5.12. but without any effect.
Have got anyone any expirience with this problem or there is some known sollution ? I am becoming pretty desprate because I love sense ROMs
Look in Evil's nxSense thread in the second post and get the network fix from there. Flash it, and it will work.

I have a problem with the signal bar. Ever since i flashed Kenn's ginerbread beta
4.5, my signal always stays at 1 bar, though i think the actual signal isn't as low
as 1 bar. I just tried flashed alien #3, wiped version, same thing, nothing
changes. I was wondering if anyone has the similar problems? What should i do
to fix it?

I had that issue with Alien as well. I have a Bell Atrix so I just found the latest Bell radio and flashed that through CWM.

Hey I am using International version Atrix. i try Bell radio and its work. Now signal bar can operate normally.

Climb a cell tower and chill at the top. I always get great service up there.
I have a question actually for anyone. I'm having troubles with having my signal and lte sticking to a custom color.... I news some times is well turn blue but most of the time they stay white. I've tried Wanma xposed, I've tried Xblaster but not using them at the same time... and not give same result of the color not sticking. Here is the example and also maybe they're another xposed app that I don't no about could you share please, can't use Gravity KK cause it interferes with Wanma xposed

you can try android themer(xposed), you can even change the wifi and signal icons
