What does everyone think about the US packaging? I personally want the bamboo packaging like the UK customers!
I think this clear box approach is a bit odd considering most will be sold online.

They seem to be going all out for the US launch, doesn't have the earth friendly of the Europe packaging but it sure grabs your attention now. I like, now Ill have a museum case for when I retire my Streak in a couple of years.

Looks sexy. I could really care less about the packaging...just give me the friggin phone.
I have the USA release in the Museum display .. It is nice. But I would have been just as happy to have it in a small box like the iphone came in. Easier to ship if I one day sell it. I do NOT see that day coming any time soon. BUT THEN, have had it only 24 hours, still playing with settings and swype .. BTW, I LOVE SWYPE ..
I prefer the bamboo package,
and I am getting one real soon !

Does it cover the whole phone including the touch screen or just where you see the patterns? do you have to take any parts off of the phone itself?
wow, 9 bucks... I bought my wife a set it was something like 30 bucks shipped, but it is also super thick... quick shipping, well made, and very protective. Does NOT cover the touch screen, but my auction included a seperare piece for it. You do not have to take anything off the phone, but I would do it just before bed so that it can sit a long time with out being handled, to allow the sticky backing to cure completely.
This is the only app I miss from my Android experiment. It's due to hit with the Windows Mobile Market. Guess I'll have to upgrade to 6.5 now.
ShopSavvy now will use Bing Maps instead of Google.

I tried it on the MyTouch 3G before I returned it for a Touch Pro 2, and while it's an awesome little program it always had few or no listings for my area, and some of the stores it missed on products I know have said products in stock. If it can improve it's local listings, I'd definitely jump on it again.

I emailed them about it a couple of weeks ago, and all they said was they were still working on it. I couldn't get much out of them at all.

Just got a repsonse back from Big In Japan... The WiMo version has been stalled out a little bit due to difficulties with the MANY different camera configurations and a few other pressing projects that have fast approaching deadlines. But don't worry. It's still on my radar.

VERRY NICE...hey, I've seen this a few times n have wondered..is the noPhones screen really that dull in comparison or is it that the backlights turned down or up on the EVO?
both where at the factory presets in that pic. the iphones just that dull. doenst seem like it on its own. The resolution on the screen is insane. The camera is pretty good, takes amazing macro shots.

I think it's ironic that before touch screen phones got popular, every new phone was trying to show how much SMALLER it was than the competitor's. Now we're after the bigger screens and don't care that the phone has gotten bigger. I know I don't!

I agree, every phone that gets pictured next to the EVO ends up looking very awkward and dated.
Why did I have to see this?
First I have to wait 2.5 more weeks to get this amazing phone...
Second I have to get through all my finals and not get distracted....
Third I see this picture and want this phone more...
I am going through so much torture because of this phone...... ughhh
I stopped off to get some groceries on my way back home tonight and lo and behold there was Froyo waiting for me (officially released from the source through regular distribution channels)! I didn't want to make a mess trying it out right there in the grocery store so I waited until I got home to dig in and do it full justice.
Oh, my! Much better than the last couple of versions of their treats that I've tried. I will be enjoying this for days to come, but I want to make the pleasure of discovery last.
For those doubters I have photo evidence. My apologies for the blurriness, it was hard to hold still knowing what was in store for me, but I wanted to get the proof up here before I spent too much time enjoying it.
If you get Froyo in the next few days, please upload your photo evidence as well - make sure to show the exact release type in the image and some evidence that you've verified its goodness...
