Post 2.1 update questions - Hero, G2 Touch General

Hello All,
Now that we have a 2.1 update (ufff what a long wait), have a question on the new Sense 2.1 widget.
1. I couldn't find FriendFeed and News Feed (rss aggregator) widget. I tried to look at the Widgets and also the download htc widgets link but still couldnt find it.
Besides this had couple of minor issues but got it sorted.
1. Some of the facebook contacts were missing in the list (10%). Did a manual account logoff and log in and this solved the issue
2. Market app crashed while opening. Again, system restart and it worked perfectly.
Regards

Beautiful Widgets wont download

hi,
posted in this nexus1 forum after searching for problem, but I have an x10 and hoping an x10 user might help
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=700371
I purchased Beautiful widgets, but when I try to install I get 'download unsuccessful'.
I have deleted market cache, and rebooted but made no difference..
I am waiting on a reply from the dev, but nothing yet - anyone have any idea why it might not be working or how i could fix?
[edit] more detail:
i purchased/downloaded/installed beautiful widgets successfully. then uninstalled and got a refund, after trying a few other widgets I decided to go back to beautiful widget. Went through the purchase fine, and it says purchased in downloads, but will not download successfully to install
[/edit]
anyone have any thoughts please ?!
Hey
It may or may not help, but if your a UK x10 owner something that worked for me was on your pc log into your google account and switch from googlemail.co.uk to gmail.co.uk and back again fixed my problem with the marketplace. Tho i did have to do it a coupla times to get it to work.
I think this only works if you from UK tho not sure, anywho hope it helps
Dan
I would really make an effort to contact the dev, it seems there's a problem with the market which is confusing Google if youve bought it or not. Anyway, the Dec will be able to sort any confusion out effectively.

Hi I have had the same problem with a game that I purchased, the dev told me that there have been some problems lately with the market and protected apps, and to wait a few days and see.
I solved this when I logged into gmail (which I don't use other than for market). This issue was caused by fraud prevention on my Credit Card, reconfirming the card worked and the App was installed automatically..
Simple fix, but I'm amazed the market doesn't give better error reporting!
Thanks for input!!
go to 0.arenabg.com (a torrent site) and search for android app...i those app there is a butiful widget pack..

Webroot Mobile Security

Hello guys,
I need bit of help with the fallowing situation:
Im trying to install on my Galaxy S the application from the thread title, Webroot Mobile Security, the free version from the Market.
All is ok, the download, install and configuration went ok except that every time when im rebooting the phone its like i never installed the application. Anyway i find the app in application menu and when i try to access the app its like im doing that for the very first time: have to accept the terms and conditions, have to reconfigure all the settings...etc.
I used the app w/o any problems with the old 2.2 stock fw. Few weeks ago i received the 2.2.1 update via Kies, since then i encounter the situation from above.
Any advice to make it work?
Thanks!
Market app contact the developer .

I have similar problem on my i9000 - and its more then one app - its most of apps

After i close and reopen same thing starts over again. This affects some widgets to.
Using GO Launcher and those widgets seems to unaffected but Jorte calendar and
some others are going to reset to new state - they forget the settings.
This happens with some games to - getting very annoing.
I still rynning stock rom and have not rooted the phone - yet atleast. Any ideas?

[Q] Twitter not working?

Hi, I bought my iconia yesterday and since then I can't sign in to Twitter, I've tried the app that comes with the tablet, official Twitter app, Tweetcomb and 1 or 2 other Twitter services for Android, but none of them seem to work. What do you guys think is the problem? I'm really new into Android 3.0 so I could be missing something, I hope you can help me out guys.

Seesmic is the best! And it integrates Twitter too!
I use Friend Me as well, but I installed FB 1.6 without issue.
Download the APK from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1142676
Email to your Gmail account. Open your Gmail app on your tab and you'll be presented with the option to install it from the App. No root necessary.
damn i was using friend caster and didnt really like the UI but i took bbeelzebub's advice and tried friend me and i prefer it much better than friend caster. thanks!
I was also using friendme and noticed that if you have friends that block 3rd party apps, you will not get thier status updates in your feed. This is not the case with the official FB (1.6) app

Disable market autoupdate notifications ?

I am using the latest market (3.0.something, i believe).
It will not stop notifying me to update applications.
I do not want to update these applications.
There is no option to disable notifications like in the old market
I can also not find market autoupdate bulk toggle in the market
I would like to disable these notifications. How would I do so ?
I would like to know this as well. It keeps reminding me to update facebook but I dont like the new version and refuse to update to it.
i dont think there is a way of disabling the notification, you would just have to ignore it unfortunately !
@dkyle. whats wrong with the latest update of Facebook ? mines working fine !

batch toggle of Market autoupdates can be done with Titanium Backup - definitely in Pro verison, not sure about free - just go to Menu / More / Market Autoupdates
You can always use tasker so you never have to see the notifications
From something awesome
the older one... free i guess....
menu/settings/..booom....!

I just don't like the looks of it compared to the one before it. It seemed to work alright on mine but I don't like the way it looks like the mobile site now.

anyone ? Can't find anything else on the internet about this.
If you are running Market version 2.3.6 or under, the notifications can be disabled via Market --> Settings --> Notifications --> "Do not notify me".
I'm not sure about Market versions higher than this, as I do not want to deal with the latest market version layout. So you could roll-back or just re-sign the Facebook apk or whatever apk you don't want updated (Signapktic is a android app that would do this easy for you) and re-install it (you must uninstall the original before the resigned will install). The re-signed app won't show up in the market then.
The last option (again, tested on 2.3.6 and lower) is to manually edit the Market database file, under "/data/data/com.android.vending/databases/assets.db". All your installed apps will be listed under the "assests 10" table and you can remove them from there and push it back to your phone. The Facebook app or what app you delete from that file will not show up as installed in the Market anymore. The database will be regenerated whenever you clear the Market cache though.
Hope this helps,
-Mike
EDIT: Sorry for the redundancy, just re-read your post and saw that you are running the latest market and already looked at the settings. One of my other two options should fix the problem for ya though.
