Is there any explanation why Lockbot doesn't work on X10, while it works on every other phone.

I really would like to use this program, but so far I can't manage to get it work.

I'd like to know that too, never worked for me either.
Works for me on x10a, had to set the sleep mode on phone settings, doesnt work if i manually lock it, sometimes will run both screen locks. Would be a very kool program if it worked properly.

free is absolutely great if you dont care about extras and you just want to chat. other than that.. its a hacked version of an old version of aim. its very buggy. doesnt auto switch from landscape to portrait and vice versa. doesnt show all of your buddies. and the list goes on. but its free and it works. so i dont complain.

yeah, VERY BUGGY. everytime i run the program, when i power off my phone (just by tapping, not holding power button) and turn it back on, it wont turn on. also when i go to the program (while it's already running) from the start menu, more than likely the phone will just freeze, causing me having to reset the phone.
grew tired of it & just deleted it the other day. thinking about looking into either IM+ or Agile. any suggestions between the two??
Here is AIM: www.aol.uk.co/aim/wince/index.html ... <it could be www.aol.co.uk/aim/wince/index.html but not sure...>
to use it, start it, then try to instant message someone by typing in there screen name and a message, at that point the sign in box will pop up and set it to sign u in automatically.
if i had to pick one.. IM+ is def. the best ive used.. its $40 (expensive) but it has a today plugin, custom away messages, keeps you logged in, and has like 4 other services you can use with it.
Great thanks guys. How does 'staying logged in' effect battery life? I mean say you didnt IM anyone but it was on all day, will your battery die quickly? I havent tested Pocket MSN but I thought it seemed to take up more battery when I had it up
Try this aim and see if you like it.. Its Free.

Try this cab, but I'm not sure it's free I think you'll need cingular data plan.
trying octro and fairly impressed so far. Weird how I need to make an octro name before i can use the 'legacy aim' lol
Ill check out the others as well, thanks guys!

The old aim that was hacked for wm5, works fine here...I use it nightly, goes from landscape to port.
im having an issue with rotation. for some reason opera will only rotate from portrati to landscape sometimes.
i installed gyrator2 and on the black screen it also doesnt seem to pickup the difference between portrait and landscape.
i have calibrated and it says successful, i also know the sensors are working as i can play the ball sensor game fine.
any help appreciated.
Im having the same problem sometimes.
i have not installed Gyrator yet.
im not sure why the levels game works but gyrator doesnt seem to see the settings, is anyone else having this issue? im reluctant to get a replacement as the balance game shows it working fine.
Sometimes mine wont rotate but that is due to the phone being more flat than stood up when i rotate it.
Also i think that if the processor is doing something at the time, like booting up Opera, it doesnt pick up the change in rotation and stays in landscape.
Try it when Opera has fully loaded and make sure the phone is not flat and see if that helps.
that doesnt help, gyrator does not even register a change, it just says undeterminable or 'face up'. seems to register face down but not portrait or landscape.
I sometimes have to give my HD a gentle tap to remind it to switch
It's kinda cute really - turn it round, nothing happens, give it a little nudge to wake it up LOL
Yes, I do realise quite how sad that makes me sound... LOL

Oh, the oddness. My phone registers everything except face down!! Meaning, it won't mute when I place it face down (have the option activated in the registry). So strange. This probably goes a way in explaining why some people couldn't get the face down to work, but that doesn't help, what would help is to know how the heck different phones register different gyrometer activity.
Probably because of all the different calibration tools out there, because honestly, I hadn't tried the face down thing before installing and using stuff like GRemote, Gyrator, GController, etc.

A wise decision
I had the same. But it seems like the problem occures only when Opera is loading page. later on everything seems to be OK.
I haven't got any aditional software installed
I just tried the latest version of Lockbot.
Again, they did not solved for us the issue about double lockscreen.
Your original lockscreen will appear first. than theirs....so...annoying as hell
I recently rooted my x10 and with titanium backup I deleted moxier and some foreign keyboards. But I can't find where they placed the original lockscreen program.
I think when you delete it from the system and install Lockbot the problem will be solved? Or is this a wrong way of thinking from me?
Does anyone knows where in the device they hide the lockscreen programm?
Cheers,
Arnold
I don't know of a way to delete it, there is an app in the market called no lock or something similar?!
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
It is CRAZY that you can't have just the "secure" lock, but have to do the "simple" lock THEN the "secure lock". Turning off the "secure" lock is no good, I want that protection!
Does anyone know if this has been sorted in future Android versions? Or is it just for the x10? I'm a relative newbie to all this.
there is a pay app called "goto". you can check "replace the original screenlock" to remove it. unfortunately, the built-in screenlock comes back from time to time.

Thank you for answering.
After I installed the latest lockbot version AND RESTARTED my phone it is working well for the first time after 300 versions of Lockbot
BUT, they made it so well you never see the original lockscreen back. You might think " THATS GREAT!"
Yes, but when you put your phone in airplane mode and put it back to normal mode, you won't able to login anymore as you don't see the original lockscreen. So you have to restart your phone before it works again. That might answer my own question....IF you are able to delete the lockscreen from your phone totally I think you are screwed as you need it to login your phone with your password.
So Lockbot improved a lot, and works great as long as you don't put your phone in airplane mode and switch it back to normal mode. That requires a reboot. I tested this new version of Lockbot for a day intensively and further on it works great and I did not see the original lockscreen anymore.
I will test it for another few days and when it is still working fine I will buy it.
Cheers,
Arnold

What version is that?
1.15.2 pro version.
Still no problems...

Hmm, i have buy pro version 1.15.2 and i have still dual lock screen problem
Did you restart?
I just read the only bug is when you hit the menu button when its locked, than the double will appear. I tested that and its true. But after re boot its working great again. Or go to settings in lockbot and uncheck and check again the option to replace original lockscreen
It can t be working for me only I guess, my phone is rooted but I don't think that make a difference...

now it works, I should just disable "No Lock" apps ...BTW my X10i is also rooted ...

Snesoid works with c core enabled.
I spoke with the emulator's developer today, he its aware of the issues and working on it. I have helped him test a few things until he can get a nexus s. Should not be much longer...

SnesDroid and PsxDroid seem to work ok for me. Gameboid is a no go.
will they take advantage of the new gaming api?

The Switch Pro widgets do not seem to work. They can show you if something is on (WiFi, GPS, etc.) but when you push the buttons it says it's updating the settings but if you look in settings, nothing has changed. If you use the flashlight option it cannot turn on the LED flash.

Switchpro works fine for me. In fact, I havent had a single issue with my normal apps with 2.3. Not sure whats borked for you? Sounds dumb but uninstall/reinstall fixes lots of apps.
Hmmmmm. That's weird. I uninstalled Switch Pro Widget and reinstalled. I still cannot get the flashlight switch to turn on the LED (I have the Use the camera flash checked), or the GPS and Bluetooth switches to work. The WiFi and AutoRotate ones do work.
Also with Launcher Pro 8.2, can anyone set a custom dock image? When ever I try and choose a custom dock image it takes me to the Gallery where I pick a dock image but when I go back to the home page there is no dock displayed.
Greetings one and all! After much toiling and lurking on XDA (as well as some experimentation on my end) I have finally got my Bluetooth enabled voice dialer working flawlessly! I can now initiate all sorts of voice commands directly from my headset without needing to touch the Tab at all.
I shall now explain how.
Download and ADB Push/RootExplorer/Etc the attached VoiceDialer.apk to /system/app.
This one is different from the other APKs I've found posted on xda. I ripped it straight from my N1. It doesn't mute your headset when you long-press call and talks with a robotic voice instead of a flat beep.
Secondly (and what I believe to be *the* major detail) is an alternate lockscreen is required. The Tab wasn't really built for BT voice dialing (unlike the N1), so the stock lockscreen isn't programmed to wake and unlock when Long-press Call is initiated. In my case I used WidgetLocker because it is pure awesome. Worth every penny.
And finally I do have Google's Car Home Core & Launcher installed. While I question the direct correlation, I do know they do work closely together and frankly it doesn't hurt.
Feel free to install, mix & match as you please. Perhaps you don't need a 3rd party lockscreen with this particular iteration of VoiceDialer.apk. I haven't bothered to find out.
Also don't confuse this version of VoiceDialer with others posted around XDA. It is 72.8 KB where the others I've found are 40kb and 80kb respectively.
Best of luck and enjoy your new found headset freedom!
Nice finding, I'll give it a try. However, your VoiceDialer APK is not signed. I've already created a signed version, so if you don't mind, you will find it attached.
Anyone try this out yet?
Sounds great... Will try tomorrow.

Ahh, thanks for supplying that. To be perfectly honest I have no idea whatsoever what the difference between a signed and unsigned APK are. I just used what I knew worked for me.

You're welcome. An unsigned apk cannot be installed directly through adb. You will receive an error complaining about a certificate.
BTW: There is a newer version (2.2.1.4) of the Google Car Home App floating around here. Google made available a customizable version for Nexus One and Motorola Droid. However this version runs perfectly nice on my tab.
Grab it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=958890

vlingo works from samsung apps, but you still need to do the lock screen thing, as otherwise you need to unlock every time you want to use a voice command, which is a bit of a pain.. don't understand why samsung wouldn't have implemented this!
Thanks for the tip. Vlingo works. I heard it drains battery though, is that the case for you?
I am trying out widget locker for locking the screen as suggested by the OP. Defeats the purpose of voicedial if I have to take it out to turn it on every time I want to call, I might as well dial it on the tab.
Edit: After a few hours of playing with widget locker, I still can't get bluetooth voice command going when the tab's screen is off...
