Hi all
Before I get started, this is not to nag for a timeline of when we will get Froyo on our X10's.
I was hoping the developers could let me know what the steps or stages required are to get Froyo on X10? I'm interested to know what the steps involved are, thats all.
Thanx

First step would be modding the bootloader, then creating a custom recovery in order to help flashing images and finally sorting out a Froyo ROM to install.
Thanx ddewbofh
Much appreciated

Just this guide, and you should be ready:

BTW, if you have 2.2 already, you wont be able to mod your phone.

Its rather unfortunate that it came with Froyo preinstalled, but, you will have to wait. Theres no other option as of now.

Follow!
Here's a link that will get you started, educate yourself and read every post and some of the replies to make sure it work at least for someone. When following instructions, do not skip words, do it by the word to avoid issues. After you're rooted and can flash thru Clockwork, you may want to consider Trigger ROM based on Froyo, something I have been happy with. Good luck and if you find my info helpful, I can use a "Thank".
Cheers!

Hello can someone one point me in the right direction to root a buddys X and flash a Rom and what Rom u suggest ??
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
The easiest way to root your phone is to use Z4Root, I believe it is still in the Market. After you've rooted, the easiest way to ROM is simply go to one of their threads here, and follow the directions for that very ROM. All three of Apex, Fission, and Liberty are good. It's a matter of personal preference. Remember to wipe when they the instructions to tell you to do so, and always make a nandroid backup.
Oh BTW, when you use Z4Root, you have to be patient, it can take a long time, and sometimes it simply takes one or few tries. Just let it run, and if like 15 minutes and it's still sitting there doing nothing, pop out the battery if it's frozen, and just restart the app if it isn't.
I suggest you use liberty. 1.5. It has many customization options that I enjoy. But fission and apex are also very good roms
Guys can u plz tell me where to get the roms plz doing this for a friend

Hello everybody
I want to root my HTC wildfire devices. For this I downloaded the unrevoked software with its drivers. After that I followed all the steps from xda forum. But at the last.... I am getting an error message about....firmware too new....(I m Frm my phn, do I can't provide the link or correct message).....please help me
Thanks

That is an error you get with the newest update from HTC. This update contains the HBOOT 1.01. That can't be rooted using unrevoked. this is a post regarding the same problem
If you read a little more you see that AlphaRevX states they has the solution but it is not quite there yet.
As of now the only way to root it is to get someone with an XTC clip to get it s-off first.
there are allready a lot of posts in here regarding this problem.

Dosnt hurt to be polite
so what the luck

Nope. But there is a beta testing going on for alpharevx, so there is already a solution in the pipeline. I'm afraid the only the that can be done is wait and hope it gets trough the test phase..
For the rest of your possible questions:
- nobody knows how long to wait, probably not even the dev's.
- the beta testing is "closed", which means that you have to be invited by the alpharev team personaly. I'm sure that they have enough wildfires to test, because they don't launch any questions for people willing to sacrifice there wildfire. So no need to contact them: if everyone sends them with the same question, then one can call that spamming
So again, sit back and relax, as it is the only thing that can be done now

Hey guys, I can't seem to find instructions to root my fascinate, running ed05... if someone can link me to those it would be greatly appreciated

Just google it. Takes you right to the site.

I would just flash the powerwashed rom...its already rooted. Read the guide I posted in the q/a section.
If you only want root then type " how to root froyo or gingerbread on fascinate" in google as previously mentioned.
+1 for the power washed rom
Droidstyle posted the "STEP BY STEP " guide, and works FLAWLESSLY , you cant go wrong. very easy to follow.

Yep, google must be broken again and atm I don't have any clean silverware to spoon feed you with. So, it looks like you're gonna have to learn like everyone else. And if worse comes to worse, just throw away your phone and get a bionic, development won't even be an issue with it. Good luck
