How do i change the sms sound on my exec?

Does anybody know how to change the sms sound. coz my friend got the MGS codec sound for his sms and i want it on my exec! It is soo cool!
thanks in advance
You need to convert to a wav file for sms, email anything bar ringtone.
Once converted would you be kind enough to tell me how to assign the file as the sms sound please
copy the files you want to use for SMS and alarm tones into your windows directory, they will then appear in your selections.
Goto Start -> System -> Sounds and Notifications -> Notifications [Tab] and look for "Messaging: New Text message" and you can select the sounds you want and whether or not to vibrate.

Start > Settings > Sounds & Notifications > Notifications Tab
Tap the Event dropdown and choose "Messaging: New text message"
Make sure "Play sound" is ticked, and tap the dropdown to choose your sound.
Your MP3 filename *should* be there.
Tap the play button to test that it is the right one, then tap OK.
You now have an MP3 sound for your text notification.

hi, i've tried creating those 3 files .. notifications and ringtones but i can't see the change in the notifications list ? is there a trick or step i'm missing ?
If youve created them folders and you place the music in them, then it should show up somewhere in that list! If itz not hapening maybe you can explain what uve done..
Edit - ok ive jus seen mine, in my sd card, ive actually got a media folder, then audio, then the other 3 folders (alarms, notifications, ringtones)
Hopefully that should do it!!
