Guys, I've been searching but can't find the answer or if there is a fix.
I am aware that apps have broken webviews on the Eris, or at least mine does (using Ivans).
A couple questions:
Is this rom specific?
Is there a fix for it?
Thanks! If there is a definitive answer on another thread for this, let me know. Maybe I was using the wrong term.

Sounds like you need to upgrade to the newer version of that ROM. Anything based on the newest software release (2.36.605.1) has working webview, so you can see pictures in Gmail, reviews in Urbanspoon, etc.
Actually, that is my ROM version on Ivans. Thats weird.

Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone has got a working kernal for 32a/old radio HERO ROM.
I tired to make one my self using magic port but that failed as magic port only supports donut and eclair base, not 1.5
I have also tried king kilck's hero eclair but as it is eclair based, it has many problems.
Once again does anyone have a 32a/old radio kernal for a HERO rom like mlign or sensehero ect...
Thanks a lot for any help with getting hero to run on EBI1
got my magic run on htc sense
Try MyHero 2.0.5. Cupcake 1.5 based 32A old radio.
It was what i was running when i was Sense UI obsessed.
Now i'm just running a SuperD ROM until the Eclair ROMs mature a bit.
i downloaded "full rom" 2.0.5, flashed it in recovery, no good, hung at rogers logo.
Am i doing something wrong?

sorry for the off:
does anyone know how to unroot one HTC Magic(Sapphire) Vodafone? and where to find the original ROM? I have problems with the GPS sensor and need to send it to service, but don`t want to lose warranty
type unrooted magic on the search bar

Gotta love the members that post something beyond off topic and fail to search. If he typed that stuff in google, probably could've found it!!
Anyways, asb123, how come you don't wanna try the new radio? It appears that you're on Rogers, in my opinion you should give CursorSense a shot. I love cyanogenmod and everything and don't really like the SenseUI, but it's the fastest for me. Unlike me, you seem to want the hero/sense! So give it a shot!
edit: I just realized you have the Dream... I assumed you had the Magic since you posted here lol. I don't know if it works on that

i suppose you`re some kind of genius, based on your post
and what if my search didn`t give any usefull result?
have you ever tried to search?
be more supportive, we all try to do this around here, einstein!

I'm glad that's how you judge my post. How should I judge yours? You're some "Lazy" member who already is most likely sitting on a chair, too lazy to use the search function? Perhaps computer illiterate? And then your "What If" questions, sounds like you didn't even search.
No, I'm not some kind of "genius" I just know how to use the search function rather than trying to get spoonfed and posting about unrooting under a thread where someone asks how to get a hero/sense rom (GREAT SPOT TO FIND YOUR ANSWER)
By the way, I'm not the only one who thinks this you should be doing this. Read above my other post.

You ask, have I ever tried to search?
Well, yes. Why would I tell you to search if I knew the answer was impossible to find. I'd actually try and help. I have found basically almost every answer possible with the most simple searches, thanks to the other 812718261 members like you (note that I just threw that number out of no where) that ask the same questions, it should be a lot easier to find your answers. (Also thanks to the Devs that explain everything nice and clear and thanks to the members that try and clarify it even further!)
Give it a shot! It's time for you to approach that search bar!
ps. Sorry asb123 for causing unnecessary information in your post!
Will also recommend you to update radio and spl and go for the CursorSense. No doubt the best Sense rom that i tried and i've been flashing a lot. Seems like that in short time we will see some nice and stable Eclair/Sense roms based on Eris dump. But these will also be for new radio and spl.
@KAwAtA
I agree, kikius is messing up this forum and makes it harder/time consuming for those who actually give the search a go. Just take care of your health, would hate if xda will cause you to have a stroke
Hey,
i'm experiencing strange connection problems on all android builds i tried so far. The connection is sometimes so bad, that i can't even call somebody or recieve calls, sms etc..
Are u experiencing the same problems? Is there any fix?
please learn some forum ettiquette and don't just go posting a relatively personal question in the middle of the developement forum.
all the android builds can make calls and all that pretty well, so you simply are not following instructions (from any angle.) go to the forum for the android build you are using, read the instructions, and maybe you'll find that your radio is probably the problem.
i'd tell you more, but you haven't been clear about what you're using. its like you calling a mechanic and leaving voicemail about your car problem without telling him what car you actually have. think about that

The solution's already been given to you. It doesn't matter if you're a "pro" or not. Hell, I'm a noob for what it's worth, but I don't have any problems with my build. Someone even took the time to explain it all to you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7088391&postcount=3
Go to the thread of your build and read, and search, and read some more.

Where did you give me the solution?? I didn't find my problem anywhere in this forum. I "installed" everything correctly. My Radio version is the newest one. So that's probably not the point
I did not check the link but from what it sounds like is that you need to input some APN settings, i am not sure what those settings are etc since i am a noob at this also.
But ur Radio version is not the best suitable for these Android builds, try using version 2.11.50.20
I keep searching posts looking for an answer but I can't seem to find anyone else who has asked or addressed it.
Is it possible to just install an Android rom on the HD2 instead of running it over WM?
I would like to just run Android and get away from WM all together...
Thank you

Yes, it was a serious question. Thanks for the constructive input, but maybe this will be slightly more helpful.
Look in this forum....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=928
Be ready for lots of reading. Don't be overwhelmed by the amount of information in there. Start with the sticky threads and the [GUIDE] threads and you'll be fine. If you've got specific questions after that then it's probably best to direct them at existing similar threads, rather than create new ones. (Seriously, nearly every question about this topic has already been asked and answered!)
Good luck
Hello folks,
First of all i wanna thank you for the great work!
Well, i've read all the threads but i couldn't get any informations about the current status for the "mobile internet connection".
Is it possible to get it work with a fix?
Cheers
we don't work with it now
is there no possibility to get it work?
yes, there is.
so could you tell it to me how to handle it? I know that this problem has not that much priority and other things need to be fixed first but it would be very nice
But,I think the important thing is microphone and battary.

I dont get it, where the hell do these guys pop out one after the other. Cant you just wait till the devs are done porting it. It's not a childs play to port it or one days work. It takes time. Deal with it. It's a Waste of time to always answer these questions. First reade the forum then ask.
if you read my post carefully, i said that i checked first the forum about 3G. I couldn't find any information, so i asked here. So wheres the problem? Also i asked a polite way, not like "GIVE ME FIX!!11!!!11!!!".
Now i know that it isnt done because of the link that tzacapaca posted so i just wait for any further information.
<offtopic/>
So it's me again .
Hows the status about 3G? Where are the problems? Can a dev ( i think schlund and r0bin are working on it ) write a little status(log files) about it?
I've finally found some time to help working on it(i currently work as a programmer in C++).
So let me know the issues.
Regards
This is the google code page
http://code.google.com/p/photon-android/
Hope this helps, source code is here
i already set up the environment.
AS far as i know: r0bin and schlund started to get 3G fixed. I need to know what the current state of the fix is(where they stuck, what they have found out about the problem etc.).
If u look at any of. Schlunds posts his skype address is at the bottom, I think its Schlund2k9.
I think he awnsers all dev questions there

I have a themed facebook app, and I want to have the official one to do something since it is a little hard to see things with this theme. The apps are seen to be the same by the phone.
Is there a way I can have both apps installed at the same time? If I renamed the current app would it still work? Or what if I made one a system app?
Come on guys: nobody?
Going to bump this again
I kinda need this answered. Can anyone help?
I think it's time to go looking somewhere else for this. Have you tried the android software general forum? This question isn't specific to the DX. Or you could just TRY it and let us know what happens...

Seeing as I did try it, and said so in the op (how else would I know they are seen as the same app?) I'm not sure where you're going with that. Also, admin or not, posting unhelpful is worse than not posting at all

I thought he was being helpful. If you post this question in the General section for ALL Android apps (again, this is not specific to our phone), there would be a larger group of people viewing the question. And I think when he said to try it, he already knew you tried installing both. But have you tried your own suggestion by renaming or making one a system app?
Not trying to be a smartass, just giving my interpretation on mrkite's post. I hope you find your answer, though!

The system app way still wouldn't work because android would still recognize them as the same app so it would not work
