Sorry if this problem has already been solved(and if it has please redirect me to it)
Ok, well the problem is that my phone won't boot up past the HTC logo screen
1. I hold the power button down
2. The phone vibrates then the Rogers logo comes up
3. After a little bit the "htc" symbol appears
it just keeps repeating step 3, the "htc" symbol just fades away then fades back in.
I have taken out the battery for 10 seconds then tried it, still the same problem. I also tried taking the SIM card out and trying but still didn't work
Anyone please help me?
Do you let the power button go or keep holding it?
what where you doing previous to this?? flashing something or took out your sdcard? im assuming you are using a hero rom. if not what rom? its not close to brick at all. as long as you got boot then your good. you might have just messed up the system and might have to reflash.
Yup, thats a bootloop. Boot into recovery, wipe and reflash.

Thanks, that worked
Hi all,
I've bought a Nexus One from a friend that went to US a while ago (I live in Brazil). My N1 was exhibiting an overheating & reboot issue whenever I used the 3g connection.
2 weeks ago, just after a phone call, it rebooted and did not come back. I took the battery out for the night, but still did not come back.
The bootloader is unlocked, but I was using stock gingerbread. I can get into fastboot, but not recovery. I tried the PASSIMG method a couple of times, and tough the flashing did succeed, the phone keeps stuck at the X logo.
The last radio flash was 5.08, when ginger came. Does this means my device is bricked? To make matters worse, it seems I'm out of warranty...any of you guys have any clue to help me? Or is it all lost and I should get a new phone??
Thanks!
If you're booting - you're not bricked. Brick = NOTHING on the phone, no reaction whatsoever to anything, won't turn on.
Anyway, since you have your bootloader unlocked - fastboot flash recovery recovery.img, and then try to boot into recovery, see if it works. Read the Wiki to help yourself.
Hi Jack, thx for the reply!
I already tried that; the flash succeeds, but I cannot get into recovery. If I try to reboot into recovery, it still gets stuck at the X logo.
I understand that brick == nothing at all; but I suspecting that the GSM modem is history. I was already having rebooting problems with it, and now it seems that it's dead and the phone will not boot because of it. Does this makes sense?
Have you tried "fastboot boot recovery.img"?

Just tried it, the phone reboots, but vibrates 7 times and does not boot, still in the X logo...
7 vibrations - means you have some HW problem, and the phone won't boot. Yes, I guess that even though you're not bricked, the phone isn't usable and needs to be fixed/replaced. Sorry.
That was what I was afraid....I had this "7 vibration" stuff happen before, but I was able to get it back on track...
Thx all for the help, time to get a new gadget
Okay, I had bricked this phone earlier when I screwed up the flashing of a custom rom, but figured I'd fix it when I had time. Now when I need it to work, it won't
I have flashed the phone a total of about 15 times (RSDlite, sbf_flash, ezsbf, everything), and every time it goes to the bootloader screen.
I tried factory resetting it from recovery. Recovery and Bootloader mode both work, but I can't seem to boot up the phone.
Once, the phone booted android and the welcome screen was shown, then it shutdown after 10 seconds.
Is there a key combination I can press to boot regular?
And have I maxed out the rewrites to the flash?
Any help would be appreciated

There's a couple of us with this problem. See my thread just a few down from this. Not sure what is going on. I've tried everything, eventually just settled on buying a DroidX instead of waiting for a fix.
I can get to recovery and bootloader, the problem is it won't boot
Have the same problem, you should be trying to get back to an earlier SBF, if you upgraded to 2.3.4, give up, still has no solution, since the SBF 2.3.4 has not leaked voi
Hi guys, something strange happened, got my nexus 3 weeks ago and i right away unlocked bootloader, flashed custom recovery and rooted it, installed a few apps and everything was fine, day before yesterday while sending an email my phone got stuck and rebooted, took awhile and when it did i noticed the cell network being empty, i would press anything on the screen and it would do the same. So i downloaded the stock images and flashed everything according to section D of the topic http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2010312 and boot took awhile finally it started and i got the welcome screen, clicked on English USA and again the cell network is empty and phone frooze in the first screen only, it rebooted and it boots up with a black screen and i get the message "process system isn't responding, OK or wait" and press ok or wait whichever and phone reboot or even if i try to press any of the options, its stuck. But bootloader works since i can do fastboot devices or fastboot reboot-bootloader, i can also boot into recovery which is CMW. This is getting frustrating and im confused, can anyone help me out here? Thanks
RMA time. Relock the bootloader and ship her off. If reloading the stock images doesn't fix it, it's likely hardware.

Gong back to all stock software with fresh flashes is the most extreme attempt at a fix, software wise. What else would you do?
Hmmm, true...this sucks, no other option...thanks
I have a TMobile/MetroPCS GS4 model SGH-M919N that got stuck in a boot loop last week. I was finally able to find working firmware last night and used Odin to flash. Once it got to PASS my phone automatically rebooted with the blue recovery boot text in the top left, but then it just went back into a boot loop. I tried all other firmwares and none of them got to 100% so now I don't know what else I can do.
I have the same issue on a GT-i9505. I was using my phone this evening when it randomly rebooted and just keep rebooting until I removed my battery. After that, it was dead . Flashing stock firmwares like shooting a minigun and nothing works. Smells like a hard brick?

Have you tried replacing the battery? I figured I would try that but I havent gotten around to it yet
Not yet, i have no spare battery. Looks like when i plug the charger my phone just vibrates, like it's rebooting, and it's not showing anything. I found a similar issue here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2532447
Looks like one guy did solve his problem.
*need to mention that by dead I mean it shows the "Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505" logo and also shows "RECOVERY BOOTING", even though I didn't enter in recovery mode. Looks like now it doesn't shows anymore "RECOVERY BOOTING", but still, it doesn't boot. I was able to flash firmwares via odin and kies, but still no luck.
LE: It start booting by.. magic, i got to samsung boot logo, but that's all, crashed again.
After flash with Odin, immediately boot into recovery, perform a factory wipe, and reboot.
The problem is it doesn't boot into recovery.
LE: I managed to flash twrp via odin and boot into recovery, but i have an error:
"Unable to mount /data"
Any ideas?
LE2: Everything is useless, i managed to flash the rom, manage to boot into the rom, but then it will still reboot (which it did). Next step will be maybe to disassemble and clean all contacts.

How did you manage to get into recovery?

Yes, but if I leave my phone in recovery (stock or custom), it just either freezes, either reboots, even though i don't do anything, just let it idle.
I can't manage to boot into the ROM 'cause eventually it will reboot. I couldn't finish the setup wizard.
OK so I don't know if this helps, but I managed to at least get past the "blue recovery boot" part. When the phone vibrated I let go of the power while still holding home + vol up, and I managed to get to the android guy with a blue progress bar below him. My phone shut off as the progress bar got 80-90% but now I know it's not impossible to start recovery.
Well, nothing works. After flashing pit file, an 4.4.2 odin prerooted image from here, cf auto root and then twrp, it will still randomly reboot. I manage to get past the boot logo into setup wizard, but phone just freezes after a couple of minutes, can't finish the setup wizard. Also, if i idle in twrp it will reboot sooner or later, tested already.I left my phone idling in twrp just to recharge my battery.
At least i have no more "unable to mount /data" errors.
I finally got it to work, all I had to do is keep flashing twrp and stock firmware back and forth. But it is just one problem after another with this thing, the problem now is every 5 minutes it will freeze and restart, also it tells me there is no sim even though it worked the first time i put it back in.

It means he flahsed and reflashed many times until he got lucky and it worked. That's what happened to me also. But i have the same issue, phone reboots or freezez after a couple of minutes, even though everything else is installed properly.
Dude, we have the same issue. Btw, is this happening to you too? Like, now and then when the phone freezes, that the screen is turning to a bright yellowish green?
I know a friend who repairs phone hardwares for a living, i gave it to him, i'll let you know how this went.

I got several times into Recovery Mode now, flashed several ROMs. I had no issues with freezing, especially not in TWRP Recovery Mode. But sometimes if i am trying to go into Recovery Mode or i just want to start ROMs, the screen turns into yellow behind the Samsung logo. If i dont take out the battery this wents into a complete white, but nothing happens.
Yes please tell if you got some news..
guys its not hard bricked its a problem wiht your power button
my friend had the same issue and then i killed the battery by letting it keeep bootlooping

But it is sure that the power button is working because i get this blue "recovery booting". Or am i wrong?
So.... bad news, the guy whom i gave the phone to said that it's a short on the motherboard and there's nothing he can't do other than changing the motherboard. If you guys found another solution and that guy is mistaking, let me know.

Replace power button to new one. I have the same problems with s3 and this works. Try it.

My phone is dead, it's not even charging anymore. The guy whom I give it to said it's a short on the motherboard. You guys managed to solve something with your phones? Or still a dead end?
