There's a blue and red arrow icon in notifications, when I pull it down it says "Device Management - connecting to DM Server". Could this be Froyo?? Yeah, right, but what is it then?

But no, you are probably getting JI6. I suggest that you Odin to one of the new leaked ROMS and use that. JI6 was a mess IMO, huge battery hog.

lol, but I like my new toy...LOTS. Got a 32gb sd card on the way for a total of 45gb of usable storage. That is tops, no? Still have my G2 for backup.
How long is this JI6 update supposed to take? That "connecting to DM server" icon has been there for an hour. Should it have connected by now?

Over the air is a crappy way to get anything is becoming my understanding. If it was me I'd Odin JI6 onto it if you want to stay stock. Otherwise I'd put on a custom ROM of your choosing.
If you need help with Odin etc. look at the Vibrant Bible - it will answer MANY questions for you. Good luck and welcome to the club

I had an Epic that was purchased back in August that I traded for an EVO in December. After a month with the EVO, I couldn't take the on screen keyboard anymore so I traded my EVO for an Epic that was a week old.
It hasn't been rooted or messed with and when I looked at the system info it said it was running 2.2.1 Froyo DK28
Did Samsung start shipping new phones with 2.2.1??
I know 2.2.1 isn't official yet but I have been out of the Epic loop for a month so I wanted to see if this was a fluke or what.
Either you think you're being funny or you've got someone else's flashed phone. It's running DK28, which isn't a release build.
That isn't the official froyo build. It looks like that's a phone that was exchanged for a di18 phone back in december. Or maybe its a refurb that wasn't flashed back to di18.

Honestly I don't think I am being funny, It was a valid question since the phone isn't rooted I wasn't sure.
Is the leaked DK28 flashable without rooting through Odin? If so that would make sense, I just wasn't sure and that's why I asked.

yea, there is a odin flashable dk28 without root. looks like thats what happened here.

Sorry, but we've had more than our fair share of Froyo pranks on here and I'm sure you've heard the story about the boy who cried wolf.
In any case, the unmodded DK28 is unrooted, so it's quite possible for this to happen. If Sprint gave you this phone, they're not doing a very good job of resetting it back to factory defaults.
That's for sure. I got mad as soon. As I read the ops thread but I guess he really didnt know.

You have to click 'edit post' a second time once at the screen where you can edit the content of the post.

Yes and when I set it, it saves so when I close the browser it doesnt reset. Kinda like CM7 does it.

ok. you can play it cool if you want, but i don't for a second believe that your contribution to andirc's april fools joke was suggesting that the thread be locked and asking how to get rid of your dope new boot animation.
but don't be mad. they got me too. i flashed it ten seconds after reading the thread title. it wasn't until midway through my nandroid backup that the comments revealed to me that i'd been fooled. if the mods had deleted all traces that that was a joke i really would have been surprised.
anyway, now can you please educate me and tell me what the user agent thing that you're requesting is? i'm not familiar with it and i'm curious what it does?

Had the issues on my Brother..and Dad's Epic's too.
And my friends G2 and my exs G1
the app has been broken through many versions over many months.
Some versions wouldn't notify me of anything, others would notify me constantly even with notifications off. I had to log out of FB to keep it from pissing me off.
Good to know its sort of stable now.

Oh look, they fixed the keyboard and auto correct feature when posting a status update. I swear, that was the best break ever; I barely posted a status from my phone all week!
How they managed to break the keyboard is beyond me...but that's facebook...Billions of dollars, and they still have ****ty apps, no iPad app, a website that's outdated (design wise), ect.

Nah they screwed up the sound completely with 136 so that's been done already. I'm thinking the screen will be unreadable in one way or another, forced low light, no contrast at all, that sort of thing.

I'm pissed off with the messed up bluetooth and wifi, i hope they fix this soon in the update. I cant talk calls properly over bluetooth, my SONY smartwatch2 is losing connection and my wifi keeps getting association rejected
