I broke my backspeaker.
A few days ago The sound of my backspeaker began to go bad. Somtimes it was bad and when I shook the phone it was working. But lateron the shaking wasnt working so i opened my phone and tryed to clean the contacts. When I pushed the surface of the speaker it worked so I am sure its the speaker and not the software.
Im not going to tell you how I tried to fix the speaker
Lets just say that theres no warrenty nomore
Where can I buy this speaker (tryed to google or search this forum but found nothing)

I've read somwhere in this forum that you can replace the speaker with a Nokia speaker. It's better and available at many places. Look here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=18384&highlight=speaker+nokia.
But I don't know if that's about the back-speaker???
Im sorry to say that that subject was about the front speaker.
Im still looking for the backspeaker.
Thanks anyway for the reply
More unlikely to find it. Need to try your service center for Help!

It's the same as a blueangel main speaker but with a longer lead.

You would need to splice the wires longer.
Richard
I did it !!!
I replaced the back speaker with a speaker from alcatel ot511
I used a solder iron (how do you translate a "soldeerbout" in inglish) to coneect the 2 wires to the speaker. And voila .... there was sound.
Its not to loud but the quality seems a bit better.
btw the speaker cost me 2 euro so thats a lot cheaper than the 30 euro you pay for the original xda speaker
Please I need help, my front earpiece speaker is damaged, I need a new one or a replacement that works for the I-Mate Jam. Anybody can help me about this issue.
I did replace mine with one from a nokia 3200. Cheap to buy used if U cant find the earpice as spare part. was a great improvment from the cheap earpiece htc used in the magician. same size but much better sound and uses springs to connect to motherboard.
Best regards
Carlis.
Has anyone had to replace one? Is it difficult? Any idea as to where I can find the part? I'd gladly buy a broken one for parts....
Mine sounds like the speaker is blown... it works, but rattles and vibrates...

I replyied to your request in my other post. As for the difficulty it is hard to say. I repair phones for a living so it wasn't hard for me the first time. What sucks is that you have to take the phone apart from back to front just to get to the ear speaker. A T6 and a small 2.0 phillips screwdriver will get you in. And some phone opening tools whould sureley help. I ordered a new faceplate for a customer from cnn.cn and it come with the ear speaker installed in the faceplate already. You could order it plus all the tools you need from there. The link is below:

very cool the faceplate doesnt seem too difficult to replace. Thanks!
I replaced the housing on my old BB Pearl, and my G1 (which was way, way more complicated).
I've got a Magic now, and the ear speaker is acting up. When I make a call, sometimes the ear speaker is just dead - I can switch to the speakerphone no problem, and then when I switch back I usually have sound in the ear speaker, but I suspect physical speaker damage because sometimes it'll cut out and I can squeeze the top of the headset just right and it'll come back. Crossing my fingers that it's not something else electronic in the board.
I want to replace it - and while I've got it apart, may as well give it a new body since they are only $10-$15. (wish I could upgrade it to the Fender body with the 3.5mm headphone jack lol)
Problem is, although I can find new housings all over the place (including eBay), I can't find the replacement speaker anywhere but some GlobalPartsDirect website, and they have a 5-unit minimum wholesale order quantity.
Any suggestions on where to look? Thanks in advance!!
Bump on this-
I had PM'd a seller on Ebay who said they had one - just waited over 3 weeks for it to arrive, only to discover they sent me a replacement speakerphone speaker.
I could not have been clearer with them that it was the ear speaker that was not working.
Any help is appreciated - I now need to resolve this urgently, as I can't use my phone as a phone, and I'm postponing all sorts of things that I need to resolve - of course the timing is such that I need to liquidate some things and I can't set up Craigslist ads because I can't talk on my phone. Please help!
I ended up using compressed air to blow my phone off. After i was done, the mic for in calls is not working now, i have to use my phone on speaker phone now to talk to anyone, my question is do i have to replace the whole loudspeaker assembly to fix this or can i buy a replacement mic and change it, i can't seem to find a replacement mic for my phone. Thanks.
