is it dangerous to stream illegal music to myself using ORB ?
I would gladly use subsonic but sadly streaming is not TRUE streaming ( I want to stream 1 song at a time , not my whole library )

I have ORB setup to run on my PC with UPNP support. Orb itself runs fine on my Wizard, but I need to login to the mycast page first. What I am looking for is a program that will act as a front end to the UPNP server in ORB.
I have pocket player right now and it works perfectly for browsing the UPnP shares. Pocket Player will stream my music over UPnP but video is a no go unless the movies are encoded for windows media. This is the problem, I dont want to have to re-encode all my video just so I can do a direct stream. That was the point of using ORB, it will re-encode it on the fly.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Oh almost all of my movies are encoded in Divx.
Is it possible to stream podcasts on the X1 or do I have to download them every time??? Thx 4 any ideas!
Coreplayer can stream podcasts!
Does anyone know whether is possible (and how) to listen to mp3 stream over the net? I was trying to stream deluxemusic radio, the HD brought up the media player, but it could not relay the stream.
Thank you in advance
Try Resco Radio.
try installing real player, I can successfully stream mp3s using real player and also coreplayer
also u can use gsplayer or mortplayer
I'm trying to get my favorite radio station stream on my HD2. The stream URL is www dot kgsr dot com slash Other slash stream .
Since it uses Flash I have to use IE and IE loads the site and app and even plays the audio advertisement before the stream starts. I hear the audio ad but when the stream starts I get no audio-the stream is making it to the phone, however, because I can see the visual equalizer.
I'd really like to somehow be able to listen to this stream on my HD2. KGSR, the station, has a Blackberry app and an iPhone app and it's frustrating me that there is no way to listen to it on Winmo.
The file it is streaming is an FLV file, btw.
Thanks.
I usually use "http://www.thestreamcenter.com/pda/" and have no trouble listening to any station. I believe yours is even on there...Tj

Thanks--what application do I use to open the PLS file?
I normally stream content to my PS3 via TVerstiy or WMP. If I want to send it to my phone, it's as simple as entering URL (http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:41952) on Vplayer. For some reason, it's just not working for me on the GT. Not sure why.
Who is streaming and what clients are you using on both ends? How are the results? Any cloud based solutions for video? It seems everything is all about music.... Meh, I prefer my Zune HD for music.
Edit* Actually, streaming works perfect going through the built in web browser. Files that my phone would stutter with, play perfectly with either the stock honeycomb player or Vplayer just by adding a /medialib/browse after the address and port. Nice!
I've been using Plex with great results.
I forgot about Plex. I may check that out. I used to use Orb and the quality sucked so bad that I was a little cautious about anything other than TVersity.
I wish Plex supported Hulu.
I've been using PS3 Media Server with uPnPlay (free from market) with decent results.
Its been working fine with avi and mpeg, but the tab has a lot of trouble playing back mkv files. I haven't tried adjusting the settings from what I normally use when streaming to my PS3, so it may be possible to get better results with some tweaking.
