Root happened - unlock solutions - XPERIA X10 General

Celebrating the news about ROOTing Xperia X10, we would like to ask about unlocking this device. So Far we can unlock it only by expensive codes. Maybe someone using rooting trick, has got rid of simlock?? If yes, please share us how to do it

Request to close this topic.

unfortunately, unlocking and rooting have nothing to do with each other. except that if anyone were ever to create an unlock app, it would require root. there is no such app though

Sigh. Unlocking has nothing to do with rooting.
This has been said over and over again in all forums.

You got a $500 phone and a $5 remote unlock code is expensive?

Codes to unlock the X10 go for as cheap as $.01, yes, that is NOT a typo, 1 cent is what i wrote.

lol.. oh damn.. i can't afford 5bux

i have unlocked htc magic with rooting but its not only rooting , i will try on xperia

5$ for an unlock code???? I´ve just paid 24€ for a code to simunlock my xperia....

Mod. edit
CLOSED for being answered, redundant and duplicate. Wrong forum as well, just fyi.
Simply search the XDA fora for xperia x10 unlock and you will know what everyone's referring too.

HONESTLY, UNLOCKING XDA IIi

  Is there no-one who knows how to unlock the XDA IIi? I have seen a few other posts about this, but no answers except being refered to IMEI-CHECK.
1) Has anyone tried IMEI? Are they reliable? What does their wierd procedure actually do to the unit?
2) Where are the people who cracked the XDA II in a jiffy?
3) Maybe if we formed a group of interested people in this thread we could form a trust that would throw some money at whoever manages to do an application like XDAIIUnlock?
I'll alter this question just for now:
Please reply to this thread if you:
1) Have heard the there is a machine, by O2 reffered to as "XDAIIi"
2) Own this "XDAIIi" or knows somebody who does?
:? We'll just start from there. Maybe I am alone in using the IIi?
Hello, just checking if I have chosen the right forum: "The Himalaya and Andes", the Andes is referred to as XDAIIi in the UK, right?
If this is wrong and I should be posting elsewhere, any help/info is greatly appreciated. I am trying to locate other users of the XDAIIi.
If I am in the right place, it would be great to hear if there is someone else using the XDAIIi in here.
I have an XDA IIi.
I went to the IMEI check website, paid my twenty quid and got the unlock code, took all of 5 minutes.
There is no other way of unlocking it as far as I know...if there was, I wouldn't have paid £20.
Hope that helps.
thank you for your reply. I guess I will have to go with IMEI too. It's not the money that's bothering me, it's the "safety" issues. Do you know if the warranty is voided if you unlock it? Can the unlocking procedure go wrong in any way and leave you with a useless unit?
Hiya
I know this is amongst my first post so my opinion probably wont count for much but i definately recommend imei-check, he's unlocked several of my smartphones, ive spoken to him a couple of times on messenger and he is definately genuine.
:? So, I unlocked it too, using IMEI-check. It worked like a charm, very quick indeed. Wierd that he's the only guy who could figure it out though.
Yup it works!
I did mine today. Was done in an hour (had to email the proof of address).
Unfortunately my backup wouldn't restore (PITA) but the unlock worked a treat.

hi
My friend try to use IMEI-check yesterday to unlock the phone but it fail
Do they (IMEI-check) guarantee to unlock all the cases?
Regards
Tuan
Please post your IMEI numbers, and unlock codes.
We can get an algorithm sorted for the mass population of xda IIi users if you could possibly do that.
Many Thanks,
100-
Actually i did phone to O2 CS and ask them for the unlock code, they said that it is ok, but need to pay 15 pounds to them, now , i am waiting for them for the code( they said that may need up to 21 days..)

I got a T Mobile G1 UK, locked with RC9. I can’t ring T Mobile because I’m not a customer there. Can anyone tell me if it’s possible to do it free or if not a reliable website that can help me if I have to purchase something?
Thanks for your time.

Yes there is a thread on unlocking on the Dev section of the Dream forum. Try searching there some more, as I saw one UK thread that had a little info.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=517810&highlight=unlock
Heres a link to a sim unlocking thread that deals with the US G1, but I imagine it's prob pretty similar.
The only way to get a free code is by having a t-mobile customer to get one for you. One of your friends, or anyone kind enough to get you one from xda. I'm hoping I can find someone as well.

Hello... Im new in this forum
I live in Costa Rica and I just bought an Aria, I still have to unlock it, my question is, can I root the phone and save me the unlock money? I mean, by performing a root do I unlock the phone?
Thanks!
Root is not an unlock.

Thank you for the fast answer....

What unlock code provider do u recommend me? I've read about htcsimunlock.com that is actually cheap, but sometimes they don't find the unlock code...
Should I trust the people that sells unlock codes on eBay?

okay, again, I'll spell this out. (Here is where I mentioned this to you previously --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15042917&postcount=5 )
I don't post in here unless I've ALREADY searched, TRIED the applicable standard SGS2 actions, and failed, thus having to resort to posting a thread asking specifically about the SC02C phone.
So. The standard SGS2 unlocking tools do not work on the SC02C.
Has anyone unlocked their SC02C themselves, and if so, how did you do it?
Thanks!

NTT will unlock them, 3000 yen and change, no effect on monthly support according to comments here.
Its not a DIY unlock but its a lot cheaper (3 beers) that some things *cough*tethering*cough* that docomo rakes us over the coals for.
any luck on this? I know somebody had before and after shots of the locked and unlocked binaries. Probably not going to do much to reverse engineer 1 way hash, but it's something.
I believe I am this guinea pig... I had the first nv_data.bin 1 day before going to the NTT shop, and then I did the same thing after unlocking. I also asked the lady if she could give me the password just in case it locks itself up, and it is 18360815.
If any good soul out there (Odia? ChainFire? Somebody else?) can take a look at the hashes and update the SIM unlocking program, it would be amazing. Before unlocking I tried using the program from the market, but found neither the unlock or unfreeze code.
Good luck, guys!
has there been any progress or hope to unlock this phone for US carriers? I'm holding one in my hand that I'm only using as a game console.
What can I do with it after I root it? I would like to be able to retire the iphone and use this phone.
I tried to unlock at the docomo shop but they said I would need a japanese passport to unlock, and my new zealand passport is insufficient...
So anyone willing to help or know another way? I am leaving japan on tuesday evening so this is rather urgent, thank you.

bootloader unlock verizon pixel

I just had my Verizon pixel RMA through Google with a refurbished phone. Skipped through the setup without sim card or wifi and the OEM unlock was greyed out. Figured I'd give up and just roll stock. Inserted my sim and set up. Just checked again for ****s and giggles and I can toggle the setting to unlock the bootloader. On 7.1.2.
So? Quick, turn off automatic updates then go and actually unlock the bootloader.

Verizon Bootloader Unlocked
Just got my Verizon Bootloader unlocked. Guy named Smail Amzdak did it. Got in contact with him on Facebook. He gave me instructions and address to pay $30 via Paypal and he did it all remotely. Took less than 5 minutes. The guy is honest and did a great job. Glad to have an Unlocked Bootloader again. :good::good:

Yes, I mind....especially when you promote it by violating the XDA rules

I'm not trying to start any trouble. That is not what I came here for. I just wanted to let people know about this. I had to send in a Pixel phone back to Verizon that I had unlocked. I got back a phone that was bootloader locked and I thought I was done. I found this guy, from a post in this forum, and contacted him. I was skeptical at first, but I also wanted my bootloader unlocked so I took the risk. He did exactly as he said and now I'm happy. That is all. Sorry if that is against the rules.

I don't see him selling anything. Go look at the accessories part of the forums. Thousands of recommendations in there, just like this situation. It is not selling or trading, he is just saying it works and he thinks it will benefit other people. Leave it to the moderators to determine if posts follow the rules, they are looking I promise.

Well, not directly for the poster selling anything. But the guy he's speaking of has been banned already. I'm not try to moderate, but certainly don't want this fantastic forum to turn into a place for "pay for service" advertisement. Whether it's done directly or indirectly. My intent here to do my part of maintaining an informational pass of ideas. Sorry to anyone if I come across anything different. This forum here has been a place of solitude, information, and passing theories back and forth. Have a great weekend everyone!
Can someone clarify something for me? Does dePixel currently work on the Verizon Pixel xl with the April security patch? I've tried a few times to unlock my bootloader with no success but I've heard sometimes it works after a few tries. Am I wasting my time?

I don't think he is shady given the feedback that has shown up here from longtime XDA users. I got mine when dePixel was still working, but I would be comfortable with the method he is using. I just personally disagree with XDA becoming his personal advertisement space (even since he was banned for violation of XDA rules regarding using it for a for profit service).

Yeah, I voiced my concerns about this in the XL forums and basically got laughed at by some people. Just think turning rooting into a pay-to-play model and using the forums to advertise (he's not advertising, but plenty of people are for him) could be a slippery slop that could spell trouble.
But it sounds like the guy isn't shady. Just out to make money on the desperation of others.
