At the moment, whenever there is a scroll bar in a web page I have to continually tap the up or down buttons to scroll through. If I try to "click and drag" the bar, it just moves the page. Is there any way to change this or this this just a feature of touch screen phones?
Thanks

Has anybody found a way to remove the top and bottom bars from the screen or theme them away? I map my mail button to open the start menu and the internet button to close apps. my left softkey brings up Newmenu and the right one brings up contacts. I have no use for either onscreen bar. Killing them off would provide 10-15% more homescreen space.
Thanks for reading and any help/guidance you may be able to provide.
Vijay has written an app, but I don't think its still on his site. Its called VJToggle or something. You can remove the bottom bar, or both bars. I found it on MoDaCo via Google.
Thanks. I'll give it a try.

There is also Wisbar Advance Desktop. It is shareware and you have to pay for registration code but it allows 100% complete customization of your home screen including full screen without top and bottom bars.
I was just wondering if there is a way to make the load bar for Opera bigger? Basically when you are loading a website it is a tad annoying that the load bar at the bottom of the screen is so thin and is hidden by the zoom button, sometimes I accidently think it isn't loading the page as I can't see the line behind the button.
Also regarding the bookmarks that come as standard, is there a way to reorder this list?
Thanks.
Searched but didn't find anything on these two Opera questions:
1. In Opera on my TouchPro, there is a button to close the current tab (just to the right of the location field at the top of the window). On the HD2, I have to go to the tab menu to close a tab. What happened to the close tab button? I found it much more convenient...
2. The "big scroll bar" (I don't know what it's actually called, but the large button that pops up in certain applications to allow you to easily grab and drag the scroll bar with your finger) doesn't pop up in Opera. So if I'm at the end of a very long web page, I have to swipe 20 times to get back to the top since I can't "grab" the scroll bar with my finger. Is this how it works for everyone?
Thanks for any help you can offer!
I would like to know that, too.
The first one, I think, is a change from Opera 9.5 to 9.7.
A scrollbar would be nice!
Another annoying bug in Opera is whenever there is a Drop-down menu on a webpage with over 20+ options to select from there is no way to scroll within the drop-down menu.
To give an e.g. visit fring.com and from Download click the drop-down menu for Country or Brand... there is no way to scroll down or up. The entire page starts scrolling but specifically the menu portion doesn't.
This works very well on IE6.

1. if you click on the tab button (middle button), you get the option to close the tab.

Yes, but that's two taps - what I miss is the "close tab" button that was right there in the browser window.

Apparently this is not a high-priority issue for xda'ers... no love so far...
Is the big pop-out scroll button HTCScroll or is it part of WM6.5? Wondering if there is a registry tweak to enable it for certain applications.
having just checked through the opera preferences editor there's no options for either of these, shame....

Zoom the area where the scroll bar is in the drop down menu.
Just single tap and hold over the scroll bar for 2-3 seconds. Don't take your hand away. Slide your finger now and it will scroll the menu instead of the opera window as a whole.
well when I use opera for a while it seems that the border just disappears (back favorites tabs home options) does anyone know why that is ? can it be running out of memory?
It just disappears so that you can see the whole screen and view it, if you want to get it back all you have to do is hit the little button at the bottom right.
It gets annoying at times, no idea if there is a way to keep the border and buttons up.
Just go to the settings menu, choose display and then uncheck "Automatic full screen"
right I knew that much but what I ment was the button disappears and I cant click anything. if I click physical back button it will go back a screen but the border still remains hiddenand three area where the refresh button is is black. any ideas?
With Android 9, i was able to use Bixby button to take a screenshot and the toolbar at the bottom had the option option for scrolling feature when applicable.
However now with Android 10 it does not have the icon for scrolling feature, the only way to take a scrolling screenshot is via power and volume down pressed together.
Is there a setting or something i am missing? I cant seem to find one anywhere.
I use my palm to take a screen shot. I see that when there is nothing "scrollable" on the screen it doesn't give the option to scroll, there is only 2 options for the screenshot(edit and share).... but on a website/page where there is "scrollable" info, after the screenshot there is 3 options (scroll down/edit and share) The scroll down icon is a square box with arrows pointing down which moves..I'm on Android 10

Thank you i tried with palm and the scroll option does show, with the Bixby button it doesn't though. I guess we can chalk up an Android 10 bug.
