Is there a way to mod the dialer so that it's slide to call someone? I'm getting frustrated by the fact that the screen is so sensitive that when I tap a contact by accident, it auto-dials. Is there a way to prevent this? Thanks!
I would love this also

Forgot the name but someone talked about an app in the market that made you hit an extra confirmation whenever you hit dial.

Found! Thanks to donatom. It's titled "Call Confirm."

Is there a way to reassign the search button to a different function instead of search? Like launch the camera or take a picture? Maybe even have the different soft buttons function as different alerts for email, text, calls, or calendar?
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I saw something like that in the Market but can't recall anything about it beyond that. Sorry couldn't be more help.

LaunchKey would be what you're looking for, well at least for reassigning the search key function to open other apps.
If you dig deeper in this area you will find it. They have been able to have it open the camera.

+1 i looked through many posts. Launcherkey allows the long press but id like to use the search key for something else as i never use it. Id like to just hit it once as normal. Is there a link for any threads pertaining to this?
I prefer to use my search button like THIS.
good day.

Does anyone know how to make it so when u get a txt message you can use the volume buttons to make the the ringtone stop while the screen is off or even in the lock screen. I've looked through all the settings and I don't see anyway to do it. Can it even be done?
Thanks for the help

Hey Guys,
This is driving me NUTS :silly:
Did samsung take out the swipe to call feature out of the S4? I try to swipe to the right on a text message or contact to call that person....but all i get is a drop down box with their name/phone numbers.
No it works but its difficult to swipe to call and swipe to text is easy
To swipe to call start swipe beside the contact picture and not on it....They changed it i dont know why....
Still works

I found it best if you swipe left then quick right

Here's a easier way. Touch the middle of the contact and swipe to call. It works better from the middle.

When keyboard is open, long press the microphone symbol (bottom row, between SYM and spacebar). A bar with six icons will pop up. 3rd from the left (looks like a battery to me) will open up anything in clipboard. This is the only way I'm aware of but not sure if there's another way.

Thanks for pointing this out. Also if you long press on one od the items in the clipboard, it opens a contextual menu with additional options for your clips. I like the lock feature. I've always used an app called "Clipper " but I'm gonna play with Samsung's Clipboard app and see if I like it .

Thank you guys for this. I didn't know that was possible.
Is there a way to get to the clipboard if you're not using the Samsung keyboard? I am using Swype.
Thanks again.

Good question. Occasionally I'm in some text editor and I see a panel of clipboard of copied and cut text snippets, but I don't know how to recreate it.

Yeah, I've been using Clipper for about 3 years now, the best I've found so far. I like the sync feature with the PRO version because it sync's across all my android device. I like that you can create sets, I have an email set that holds all my email addresses. Very handy little app. Haven't had any problems using it with my Note 3.

Hi Guys,
Is there any setting which I am missing, whenever I click on the phone icon. I am always presented with the dialer and then I have to scroll to call logs. Is there some setting where in I am always presented call logs (as in nexus4) and then i scroll to dialer?
Thanks again
When in the dialer, hit menu, and edit tabs.
Thanks Devs. From my VZW G2.
That is editing the tabs but still the dialer opens by default. Is there any way we can change it to call logs?

So it cannot be changed

I don't think it can. Your best bet would be to use a different dialer.
I just ran into a solution for this. It's not available as an option on the dialer but it is available as a setting on the G2 TweaksBox module for the Xposed framework. I installed it and enabled that option and it's working fine for me.
