[Jul 17] New ROM from HTC

has anybody noticed that is a new ROM available for download @ HTC club web site?
and has anybody installed and tested it? Is this a WM 6.1 upgrade?
The WWE ROM is RUU_Polaris_HTC_WWE_1.25.405.1_radio_sign_25.65.30.04_1.58.21.23_Ship
it's also available for download an Arab ROM version.

although the date in the HTC site is recent (Jul 14) is ROM seems to be old!!!
you have it in your FTP site

This rom was intalled in my Cruise when i bought it for 6 month ago so its a very old one. Rom is dated 12/2007 and is 6.0

well, according to a norwegian site, smartmobil.no, the wm6.1 is scheduled to come in august....but we all know how it works with htc and their promises..

Yea.. you never now when its about HTC, if they talk about August, you cant tell witch year they are talking about

My non-branded Polaris was bought with that ROM already.
It's working without any problems, so far...

Does anyone have the 1.43 Vodafone Rom that came with their HD2 from Vodafone UK?? If so can you put up a link to it. I've done a search of the Leo sub forum but can't find any one who has done Vodafone (plenty of O2 and T-Mobiles though)

i have it on my device as i havnt upgraded it yet, but i dont have a clue how i can upload it to so you can get it?????

i am also interested in this. or a way how i can "backup" the existing one from my hd2.

Yea, my problem is i've used the Gold Card method to upgrade my Rom, but would like to know that I can flash her back to the Vodafone Rom in case i have to send it back.

could anyone give us a downloadable(extracted!) GERMAN VODAFONE 1.43 ROM that is on all HD2`s delivered until now in 2009 ?
I want to Goldcard-flash this ROM but with the option to set it back to initial Vodafone Standard as delivered...
At the moment it is absolutely unsure when Vodafone Germany will offer newer
ROM versions...1.48...1.61...2.1...if at all !
(on former HTC phones Vodafone didn´t offer any newer ROMs for more than a year after release...)

I currently have my HD2 with Vodafone.
I recently updated the ROM to the one on the HTC website to only now find out that if you don't use the ROM from the Vodafone site, this invalidates your warrenty.
When Vodafone release their new ROM, if I update to this does my phone then continue to be covered under their warrenty?

Yep, Vodafone won't know that you have flashed your ROM once you switch back.

I am in a search for the Vodafone 1.43 NLD ROM (dutch). Can anyone post this please or a link to it?

Thank you guys - I damaged my screen but Vodafone are sending a replacement by courier tomorrow so need to get it back to the original rom just to save there being any problems...
On a side note - considering all the problems I had getting the phone from Vodafone in the first place the on-line team were really helpful today when I eventually got through....

what makes me unshure is the "Vodafone" in the name, on the HTC website...

As the name says it is the ROM for the vodafone branded HD2, it is not a stock rom.
Please use next time the search function because it is approximately the 10th thread about this ROM.

Today I discovered, that the Vodafone RUU can't be applied to my Leo, which I bought though Vodafone. WTH?
(No logos, signs, but added Vodafone keyboard)

Btw, I can download stock HTC ROMs, but only on Czech HTC website (Czech 1.48 ONLY - DO NOT WANT, ALREADY HAVE) , so I pressume, that my Vodafone HD2 is not Vodafone HD2

Which country did you buy your Vodafone HD2 from?

Morning, if you didn't buy you HD2 direct from Vodafone (store or vodafone.co.uk) then you will not be able to flash their 1.72 ROM.
For example you could have purchased a Generic HD2 with a Vodafone contract from a reseller.
edit: HSPL should allow you to flash any rom, so yes that could work.

Also, if you can download updates from HTC directly then you're not using aVF HD2 so that ROM update isn't for you...

If you want the 1.72 ROM, I'd suggest installing HSPL and flashing a custom ROM and radio from XDA Dev. There is no reason for flashing an official ROM over a custom ROM, custom ROMs are far better and faster.

yes it is new for Uk O2 customers.. it is published today only on 27/04/2010 for them..

The previous Vodafone UK rom 1.72.161 was very fast and very stable!!!
HTC is making more stable rom!!!!!!!!

Can anyone confirm that this ROM has o2 branding on it? I have a non "o2 HD2" and currently running 1.66.405.2 but I am on the o2 Network.
Would just like to know if this new ROM will 1, work. & 2, not be o2 branded etc.

I know i'm a flash addict, but one thing still confuses me.. If i extract the .nbh and flash using CustomRUU will it overwrite HSPL?

with my call log to o2 cs i am shocked they have not called me yet to say this is up lol maybe my one man crusade finaly made o2 get this out of the door !!

This Rom DOES have O2 branding, it has the O2 boot screen. I have just flashed my device successfully
This rom is for O2 users who cannot update with a generic ROM, unless you used HSPL to flash it.

Thanks for the info, I'll probably just leave it for now & hope they bring out a unbranded ROM out soon.

I think there is an official Hong Kong 1.72 rom in english, if you want that

Would it be ok to install on my HD2? Its a UK verision so to speak, ie. My Serial Number won't let me download it.

of course be carefully; you need to make a Hdspl2, and then you can flash to any rom. These rom are uploaded by xda in the official rom's post
