hi all,
im trying to watch the world cup using myplayer on the htc hd2 and i have the latest version of coreplayer installed.
i have realised i can only watch bbc iplayer? when i choose to watch a digital tv channel for example itv1 i get this message " download path required- you have not selected a valid location to cache the digital tv streams do you want to select on now?
on clicking yes, it takes me to the file directory but what do i select?
if anyone can solve this issue i would be grateful as im stuck in work missing the football many thanks
I think you can just set the directory to where ever you want, sd card safe bet incase its a big file, just create a downloads section on you're sd card

Sorry guys probably a silly question with the answer staring in right in the face....but
I downloaded a file that needs a flash player so downloaded "Macromedia Flash Player 6 for Pocket PC 2003" but nothing seems to happen
Any tips would be great....
usually Flash Player should be enough..
http://www.handango.com/PlatformPro...&platformId=2&N=96806&productId=93851&R=93851
Try this tool and see if it will help
This is the Flashplayer ActivX install file, install it and enjoy your flash.
You can unzip the attached file and place it in your phone. Select a flash file and open with it (always). It will play your flash file.
Regards
Ryan
Ok I must really be doing something wrong...
Installed kuangtian's file and followed the usual install prompts but there's nothing in the actual folder on my mini? Also clicked on the flash file I wanted to use it for and still got the same error message about no program association blah blah...
ebliss, its appears there's something wrong with your file. Something missing or something? anyway wouldn't install.
Cheers anyway guys, the too hard basket perhaps...
Mine is a normal zip file. Just unzip on your computer and transfer it to your phone.
ebliss, your a legend downloaded it again and dragged the file over and got it working, thanks again
yup, works for me
Yeah it's coooooooool but you know , I want to download this file to my storage card not the mail memory ... when I do that it doesn't work .
does it have to be on main memory or is it just my JAM
Hi guys,
I was wondering if it's possible to switch between roms and themes with gonnecting to the computer? I was thinking that I could download the different themes and roms I wanted to my sdcard and use astro or something similar to rename the one I want as update then do the power of and home+end boot and install update file. I'm not at home right now to download the roms &themes to try this, but I was wondering if anyone else has?
Thanks

How do you save the zip files to your sd? When you click on the link and download, does it save straight to sd?

Okay... well I don't have an external hd
Did W3C approve the <sarcasm> tag?
LMFAO!
dude, on second thought, how bad ass could that be if we could reverse engineer the usb controller and actually mount something like that? that would be kinda sick looking...."so im running my website off of my G1 and this WD 500GB HD i got the other day from ebay......"
alcohol makes you think of some funny sh*t...
This thread can definitely be closed.

I think you mean your MicroSD card hahaha, at the moment I don't think it is possible to hook up an external hard drive to your G1.
ASTRO allows you to download any file. So does download crutch once you have it on your phone.
i just use ftp on my phone... works best for me
According to the Qualcomm pdf about the g1 it does suppoert usb host mode, there just isn't software support for it. G1 well supports video out via usb as well. The leaked pdf has been removed from the host sites, under copyright law , so please don't ask for it.
The only one i've noticed that will let me move files though is oi file manager. So just create a folder on your external hd and just move the files and rename update... There how hard is that no computer needed
I switch ROMS and Themes if I wanted to on the mobile quite easily. Use GScript and basically organise your SD Card. For example I have a folder called "os" and inside that I have folders for Dude, Haykuro, Cyanogen etc and inside those folders are the latest releases renamed as update.zip.
Same for themes, have a folder called "Themes" and then folders with the name, such as Hero, Android Plus etc with the update.zip's inside.
Using GScript you would then make a script telling the phone to copy the relevant update.zip you want into memory and flash it - All from the touch of the screen.
i deleted it by accident and i downloaded a new copy of the movie and placed it in my sd card in movie folder and the link on the phone is still broken when i click on avatar from the screen it says file not found please help.......
*PIRACY ALERT***PIRACY ALERT*
jk. Where did you download it from? I'm sure if it's not named avatar.dcf your phone won't find it. Unless you really care about the icon you could just open it from the Files application.

i renamed it to avatar.dcf but its still mp4 format and it still does not work
You need the original file for the link so you're SOL.
well like someone said you can just open it up in the video player app. you dont need the icon to watch the movie.
This is the official motorola video player
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=2DNRIA0D
Download to device and install (may not download with xoom itself so dl using a PC and transfer to Xoom storage)
If install fails for any reason:
Place in system / app using root explorer or adb
then restsrt device
I got it from my moto atrix for whatever reason its not installed on the xoom
Powerful player and works with upnplay for streaming 720p content from ur home network unlike rock player or vplayer (slow and audio video sync issues)
i tried installing real player manually too but its resolution is off doesn't do full screen.
Doesn't install on any of my devices.
Sent from my GT-P1000
It wont install u need to push it with adb or use root explorer as OP.says
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
Hotfile is being a real pain. could you put it on a better dump site? I'd love to try this. Does 720p high profile work?
i doubt that but i didnt try. Its just a MUCH better stock player that will play alot that the 'movies' app won't. Such as dlna over ur network for example (flvs, mp4s)
ive re-upped it.
Link not working for me
Copied to system/app, restarted, no icon.
Any ideas?
it won't show as a icon but when trying to play a movie itll pop up as a choice

1) download file on your pc (it wouldn't work when I downloaded straight on my xoom)
2) move the file over to your "sdcard"
3) open Root Explorer (make sure you are rooted)
4) move the file on your sd card over to /system/app (make sure /system/app is in r/w mode)
The end.
I would love to try this, but root explorer force closes on me everytime i attempt to open it.

Thanks for the reply. This is exactly what I did the first time. I did it again, and didn't have any problems (again). Maybe what I'm missing is how to actually play videos with this player? When I open a video file, I don't have a new listing/app option. I'm also very interesting in the streaming features the OP mentioned.

Most likely you have already defined one of your Multimedia apps as default player. Go to Settings>Applications and find your video players. One of them will have the "Launch by default" set. If you clear that you should be able to see the list of choices again when playing a video file.

Sorry, I should have explained more fully. It's not that I don't get the list of apps with which I can play a video, it's that there isn't a new app in the list-- I have no way to select this new player
Not to put a damper on anyone's enthusiasm around here, but has it occurred to anyone that maybe it won't work quite right because this apk was designed for a different OS version, OS skin, different hardware (though same Tegra 2 SOC), etc?
I Signed the APK now you can install it, at least it worked for me. OP if you want to download this and repost it I will delete this file after. Thanks for posting.

Any reports on how the signed APK behaves/works?

I assume you are referring to an old NST or NSTG, not the new Glowlight Plus.
You've come late to the party for the PlayStore. Google has rolled up the welcome mat for devices running Eclair (Android 2.1) as of June 30, 2017.
You can side-load apps using Relaunch by transferring the apk files from your PC via USB to you Nook (place in a convenient folder, preferably on the SD card). Using the file manager capabilities of Relaunch, navigate to the folder where you copied the apk files. Touching on the apk file icon should bring up the option to install.
You can find various apks by searching with Google or trolling the forum here (a bunch that work in the link in my signature).

If your USB drivers are installed correctly you should see two "drives" when the NST is attached. One is the user accessible internal partition. You can copy over apk files into the "My Files" directory there if need be, as long as you can navigate to that folder using Relaunch, and install from there as described above--at least I think you can. The second "drive" should be the SD card which will show a similar directory structure unless you have added folders yourself.
There is no way to access all files on the internal memory via USB. Only the user data partition can be seen. To get to anything else you need a root browser (I think Relaunch has settings which enable root browsing).
If you're not seeing the SD card you either have an issue with the USB connection or there is an issue with the card itself. Can you see the card with Relaunch?

Yes I can see the card using Relaunch. And I was able to copy the apk into the My files directory, however, I was trying to figure out what the exact path is to specify in the Relaunch file browser/explorer so that i can see and install the apk? Do you know what it may be?

Ok thank you. I managed to find the package, however I'm presented with the error "There is a problem parsing the package" when trying to install. I tried installing some of the apps from your signature also but still the same issue persists.

Parsing errors generally mean the Android version is incorrect. That would not be the case for apps from my zip package.
How did you root your Nook?
Edit: try moving the apk files to the SD card and retry the install
