My thanks to you guys.

As a first time Android device owner who likes to tinker, I search/read MANY forums. This sub-forum is THE pinnacle of learning for me. This place has the top tier crazy-smart code monkeys who are generous enough to take their time and share their knowledge all while asking for very little or nothing.
Suggestion for all my co-noobs: Support these people! Make the little suggested donations. Without them we would have slower, and much less (fun)ctional phones. And we would also probably still be frustrated contributors to the empires of Bill & Steve.
I wish i could report these posts without actually having to open and read them...
I'm with you.
Why this thread is most likely in the wrong place. I'm with you. The community around here is great. Most of the threads are really well detailed and most people here are very generous and willing to help others. For a first time Android owner like myself who came in with no knowledge whatsoever, this forum help me get my phone just the way I want it within just a couple of days. I really want to say thanks as well.
Report it? That is a little HARSH ....
Maybe suggest to the OP that he request it be moved to general .....
to the OP, I do agree with you, the devs here are great, most do it for fun and respect but the occasional donation could not hurt ......
Moving it to general now. But thumbs up on the post! Developers do take a lot of their free time to provide us with nice modifications.
reporting is harsh... unfortunately we only have one mod, who happened to be on the ball tonight.. (+1 sombionix)..
Ill do whatever I can do to help keep this section clean.. this is how I was told I could contribute....

Really? A guy stops to express appreciation and urge others to donate to the developers and this is your response? You cry like a little *****?
Wahhh! I wanna report him! Wahhh!
All that because you felt my thanks was posted in the wrong place???? The devs were who I wanted to thank, so that's where I addressed it, period. There was really no need for you to send the ship into Warp 7 Drama Queen Mode.
I've read about a hundred+ of your posts. I know you're a big contributor & like I said, I'm grateful for the education where I am lacking it. So let me return the favor and educate you in an area where you are lacking:
Act like a man and have some class.
Don't be some arrogant little punk. Treat people the same way you would if you were face to face, as opposed to safely ensconsed in the wired, anonymous rapture of your mommie's basement.
Get some freakin' balls dude.
You don't stop in the middle of a busy intersection to thank the construction workers installing the light...
Read the rules for the forum.... the forum mod moved the thread just as fast as I reported it...

These really are pointless threads. Show your thanks by taking your own advice.

Happy new year

Maybe I get banned for this post, but I will take the risk. God bless everyone in this forum: the devs, testers, moderators, normal users, and everyone else who in one way or another share what they know and try to help other "benefitless" .
May this year bring all of you Joy and Blessings in your house, work and wherever you go. I wish you the best and stay positive. God bless you!
Happy New Year to you too & everyone else in xda HD2

FOR WORKING HARD.
I appreciate the initiative my friend. Knowing my work here is appreciated does mean a lot.
But....... Once again, this is not a development thread and so belongs in General Discussion. This time, HD2 General Discussion since it's not Android related either.
Gonna move the thread but leaving a redirect for the time being.
hooray for the mods, cheers

yes of cause they deserve big thanks from us. We always grateful to the developers, moderators and whoever helps to achieve the target.
This thread is really something I've been waiting for. Since I bought my hd2 this site has been my daily journal. I've learned so much about something I've never heard about, that is: this community. Although in every single thread there may be some illiterate, there was never a lack of information. This is a joy for me, even not having anyone around to share the experience with, being afraid of robbery or envy. I had the opportunity to experience more platforms than my notebook is able to deliver me, and it was more expensive than my phone. Now we have the beginning of NAND and so much joy ... how can I evaluate my phone if it is just as I want it to be? I just have to login, pick a shelve, download, follow all the instructions without wanting to make it easier on me, that is, being a smarta** and check for the recurrent issues. Most of the time I stay with the "thanks" button, sometimes the problem seems to be different than all, so I report it, that's all... No fuss. Following this simple instructions I have found the best suiting ROM for my needs and I ready don't care what other people think about, its my phone still. So this is a big THANK YOU, other than HELP ME (that we are all used to), for the incredible existence that all developers, moderators, guinea pigs, etc, have put into it. You should be proud!
THANK YOU, so many times as this can still go on.
PS - When I have enough money, I'll get everyone here to have a beer in my bar!

only handful of thanks to moderatorscome on ladsssssssssssssss they also deserve the thanks for the hard work they doing
To be honest, I haven't noticed any moderator's work except for moving wrongly placed posts.
The fact that they tend to be invisible and not the heavy-handed type is the thanks that I offer them.
I am distinguishing between a moderator doing a moderator's job and the same moderator posting help and advice.
Yeah you guys really thanks!!
People say that facebook is like a refridgerator, you keep on checking it even though you know that there's nothing new. I must check XDA around 40 times a day - is that absurd or what?! i love this website!

Wildfire Moderation

Hi all members of Wildfire section.
I want to introduce myself, I´m orb3000 and from now and on I will be around this section to help and improve it.
Please feel free to contact me trough this thread or via PM if you need of my assistance.
Developers, please feel free to contact me as well.
Thanks you and hope we can become good friends
Welcome to our zone!
Welcome to the place, Orb.
oooh a moderator...
Welcome
Well, if there's a bright center to the forum, you're on the section that it's farthest from.
Seriously it will be good to have a Mod to clear up the "Can I root 2.2.1" and similar which plague these areas.
i was wondering how you root 2.2 welcome mate
Thanks Orb! About time we got an actual 'mod' to look after our forums
OMG.... *hides*
Lol, thanks a lot guys
The idea is to have a better cleanest forum so I will be doing some of that stuff around.
If anything special you need to be done please let me know
Welcome to our dark corner
Well.... Since you asked. How about merging or getting rid of all those 2.2.1 rooting threads? Pretty pleeeease?
Let's see your improvement by starting to root our 2.2 , so welcome mod...
Yes glad to make it can you provide links?
I have done a bit of cleaning, perhaps already gone...

Mod's don't mean super-awesome hackers. They may super-awesome hackers but usually they are just patrolling a specific sub-forum to clean it of junk. Also orb3000 doesn't have a wildfire. And by the way, our administrator mikechannon (think of it as xda leader or supermod) isn't better than Cottula at hacking for example. So if Unrevoked team can't root Hboot 1.01, neither can the mods!

Sorry guys.
Due to heavy loads of work I will not be Mod on Wildfire section at the end.
But soon someone will arrive to help to improve this section.
Thanks a lot to all for your understanding
I am one a few moderators that are here to help, if there is anything I can do please shoot me a PM.

Some of us for longer than others...contract runs out in December (possible upgrade in November) and from then on my wildfire will be little more than a rom tester for me, granted it's been a brilliant phone for just under two years now. I would post things into the development forum as I have tried many of the roms out there but having only just thought of making an account after two years I have found I cannot without more than 10 posts...
Then again, what's my loss will be your gain as I will definitely be posting in the development forums as soon as I can (end of contract) with any bugs or problems I find.
I need help with what to replace the glorious phone that is the wildfire, can anyone recommend a suitable replacement which is equally moddable?
