Sorry first post.....noob and little retarded so forgive my lack of knowledge. I followed directions and first time had no problems getting root.... installed open home and somewhere lost my lock when pushing power button. So did factory. Got it working again but now I don't have root. Retried a thousand times to push update in adb. Never will take. Downloaded everything again still no luck. Have no problem getting adb working and recovery sticks. I push all other files fine but can't get update.zip to go. First time was easy. Need help guys.

did you let the update.zip fail? you need to do that step before you move on with the rest.
Yes. Follow directions good. Worked great first time just lost root and now can't get it back. Everything pushes to sd card even looks like update.zip does just keeps failing signature check or dosent see it at all

redownload the packages and just adb push them, dont try just copying it over
hmmm, i think once you rooted, factory reset won't affect the root thing. am i right?
hey, kingofyo1, do you know whether we can unroot the device after rooted it? so we can replace it in tmo, just in case something happened. and do you know whether rooting means unlocking?
I did plus reformated sd card. Tried pushing everything to an empty sd card. And tried copying update.zip to sdcard. I am following the root directions not skiping steps. Like I said I was easy the first time I did it just can't make it do it a second time. Also tried just reinstalling. The su_app but it want let me. I lost it when did factory reset. Is there any progress on a permanent recovery

I finally got my "Alltel Bee" rooted last nite using super one click. Before I roll out any custom roms etc, I'd like to make sure I get a backup, and my phone is hanging on the alltel logo whenever I try to boot into recovery (whether I boot in from Rom manager or from Hboot.) I always end up pulling the battery and rebooting the phone.
I do have an idea as to how I got to this point, and I have only myself to blame, but in my frustration of trying to root this thing I did try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=743289 and recovery has hung like this ever since.
I've got root now, and have installed Rom manager, used that to flash clockwork recovery, yet I still have the issue. After a few google searches, I've seen some suggest that fixing file permissions can fix this, and I've done that as well with no change.
Where do I turn next?
So after some more searching and reading and such, I've discovered that even though I have root access, booting into HBOOT shows S-ON still. Could this be the issue in my inability to get a recovery written? Anyone know how to deal with it?
How do you know it is a hang in recovery? If you see the triangle and nothing happens, just click the power button once and usually you will land in the recovery mod menu.
I don't get the triangle at all. I get the initial Alltel logo and that's it. I've waited several minutes before pulling the battery before, but I don't get to the triangle or the menu.
Super one click will only do a temp root. There are no hard roots for the bee that i am aware of. DO NOT TRY UNREVOKED AS IT IS FOR THE BUZZ AND COULD YOUR BEE OR A FROYO BUZZ

Doh! Thanks, I guess I'll wait patiently. (My network switches from Alltel to AT&T inside of 2 months, at which time I'll be provided an Aria.)
Still, it would be nice to customize this thing a bit before it turns into an mp3 player
Send me a boot.img from the bee and I'll get you a recovery

I'm more than willing to help, How do I pull what you need?
I also have the SDK installed, I've been looking into writing some code for this new toy...
edit: I think I have what I need to get this pulled. Ill see if I can find some time for it this weekend.

just starting out. complete noob
But if i can help in any way let me know. in the same boat as the original poster. our section of Alltel is being acquired by at&t and switching to the aria. but would love to help any way i can
Would love to get my "bee" rooted to play with it some more to get familiar with it all
Just got through doing a romdump. Which files do you want?
I am also having this issue... has anyone successully extracted a recovery image for the bee?
First off let me start by saying I now know what i did wrong. Next is there anyway i can fix it?
I didn't backup anything and then managed to erase everything... I have CM 6 but as of now all i can get is the boot screen. I tried recovery but that won't work becasue there is no backup. also Before I erased everything i managed to turn s on so now i have no way to turn that off correct? Im basicly looking for a way to restore my phone but if it cant be done then i understand. Right now I am using a samsung vibrant with Nero v3 voodo and understand how to install custom roms now
i have almost the same problem as you I don't know what to do I've looked everywhere.

What do you mean... erase everything? How?
Possible steps:
1. factory reset from H-Boot, see if it boots up normally, then re-root.
2. Install PD15IMG from development section, look it up.
Good luck.
Man, do I feel like an idiot...

Which recovery did you have installed and which h-boot
Did you try seeing if you could s-off through adb? Im not sure if this will work but Download the files you need to get s-off from ur computer and put it on ur SD card via a card reader or some sort, after you get the necessary files put the SD card back into ur phone. Hook it up to ur computer and maybe you can s-off through adb if you can get ur computer to recognize ur phone. Then IF it works, download a rom via computer to it SD card and boot into recovery and flash. Let me know what happens if it works or not

Should have taken my advice from this thread.
I just went thru the same thing and couldn't restore any of the backups it just kept getting stuck on the flash screen. I downloaded the ice glacier rom on to a spare sd card and flashed it thru hboot recovery and it looks like that did the trick.
hi guys if you still cant get your phones working try mobiletechvideos.com, they fixed my phone , my phone wouldn`t do anything .good reliable service, yes its in texas.
Although you didnt create any backups, is it possible that someone can create a backup of a fresh ROM and send that to you?

Just take the SD card and put a new ROM on it. Then go to recovery, wipe data, wipe cache, wipe dalkik cache.
Then install zip from sd card and find it.
I like using Royal Panache 1.3.
I think it's stock Mobilicity ROM but no stock software from carrier. Good stuff.
MIUI and Cyanogenmod 7.1 are also good candidates.
I'm currently testing out ICS and you can test it out as well (but in your case, probably try a working one first =P) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1383629&page=1

He revived quite a few of them, trying to market what I believe to be his product. Just look at his messages. Don't want to write the name of the product, since it appears he's scoring just for that.
I've reported his posts, but didn't see mod response yet.

I have an Epic myself and the security of this new HTC phone threw me for a loop. Anyway , I was trying to put CM7 on his phone , starting from stock. I managed to get CWM 3.0.0.5 on it and then flashed the CM7 from here. Now it is stuck on the white Tmobile screen , Ive let it sit therefor an hour and nothing. But the real problem is that I cant find a way to restore to stock and start over. With the Epic we use a windows program called ODIN in case something like this happens. Ive tried using ADB but the phone is showing offline so I cant push any commands to it. Is there an app like ODIN that will let me factory reset this phone and try this again? Thanks

Sounds like you rooted and flashed CM7 onto it without having s-off. If I'm not mistaking there is another thread similar to this one somewhere. Also you need cclockwork 3.0.0.6 to flash back and fourth from stock and other roms.
you need pd15img.zip on your SD
pd15img.zip reboot into hboot with that file and the part7-0000000000.bin file on your sd and it will load and ask you to push volume up to confirm then wait, it will restore the phone i know i did it, took me 3 damn days to figure out you need that part7.bin file on your sd with that pd15img.zip file...or its a no go, trust me this WILL def work...its a life saver, i did the same thing you did...had clockwork and no s=off...now i successfully restored it and sent it back to tmobile because before i solved it i panic and called for a replacement, told em it wont turn on, they sent the new one, and about 20 mins ago i flashed cm7 after folling this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=858996 to turn s=off...works great good luck
Where do i get the part7 file and the other one? Thank you

It was creates with you permanent rooted it.. should be on your SD card. In the rooting instructions it tells you to keep that file around.

Just make sure that u dnt keep tryin to flash the rom cause u gonna end up gettin the cant mount cache & data errors, which once that happens nothin can b done with the mt4g.. So if u used the gfree method to root the phone u should have the part7-xxxxxxxx.bin file, stick that to the root of the sd card & put the pd15 file to the root of the sd card, powerdwn or battery pull, reboot into recovery & let the phne do its thing..
I don't think he has that part7-xx......bin file for his mt4g phone since he did not run gfree patch. You can't do stock nandroid restore also because that requires CWM 2.5.1.4 but you can always give it a shot.
Good luck with your boss, hope you don't get fired.

I didn't use the gfree method for getting perm root.
So i never got that part7 file that you speak of....
I have found them online to download but even using someone elses i still doesnt load the .zip from hboot :{
I downloaded the glacier file , like 350 MB or something , renamed it to PD15IMG.ZIP (had to leave the .zip out because windows). Then I found the part7.bin file from another thread. Put both on sd card. Vol down and power, it found the pd15img file and started restoring the image. 15 minutes later the phone boots up just like brand new! Thank you to everybody who helped with this! Sometimes I dont know what i'd do without this place!
P.s.- he still wants gingerbread any suggestions as to best rom?
Thanks again everyone

I think you made a fine choice with CM7. Just make sure you are rooted and have flashed the latest clockworkmod through ROM manager (3.0.2.4 I believe) and it should flash without issue.
I have the latest recovery.
I also have on my sd card 2 copies of CM7.1 (RC1), and also a CM 7.1 nightly 141.
When I try to install any of these I get "Rom Manager script errors" whatever that means....
I have tried to do this after wiping data twice... So a factory reset doesn't even work.
The only thing I can think of doing is putting an update image on the root of the SD card and boot into HBOOT.... which then checks for this file automatically.
But does anyone know where I can find an update/rom in img form (and that is rooted) which will work with the update function? Otherwise I think my phone is f*cked.
EDIT: One (possible) important piece of information. When I was at the TMO store 3 days ago with this phone complaining about my wifi issue. They said I had a 2G SIM card (it's a SIM card I have had for 3+ years)... After my quite apparent frustration, they just gave me a new one--- apparently the latest type of SIM card... and also activated it (and thus deactivating my old one). Could this have anything to do with why I cannot restore backups or why my phone is so messed up now?
"Rom Manager script errors" means it can't execute the script to reboot to recovery.
Just manually reboot into recovery, do a complete wipe, flash the rom you want.

You were right.. I had root (perm, s= off). I wiped again and also redownloaded RC1 just to be sure. And it all took.
I have to make sure I unlocked the radio, and then the simcard, and then I Erik be done.
Thanks for your help. I will thank you again when I get to my laptop. The mobile ado doesn't have "thank you's" (although I thought they did).

So have you successfully flashed the CyanogenMod Rom....????
Yes... But I have to unlock radio (set it to 11111 or whatever), and also I would like to unlock the simcard...
But add far add I can tell I have a visionary free, perma root with s=off.
It was a ***** though. Doing it without a USB cable made the whole thing quite arduous.....Visionary to get temp root, then launch ADB wireless, until some ADB command (running psneuter) kicks me from shell and screws up the wireless connection. And from there I had to use the emulator which still had root to enter the gfree commands. But between the wireless issues and needing to remember to delete visionary after temp root, it was a process that took about 8 attempts. And at the end of it, I tried to flash a rom without a fresh wipe/reboot, and I was getting errors which I thought were signs I did not actually attain permanent root... But I only needed to wipe data and reboot, and all was well.
But thank you for all your suggestions along the way.
Will thank you still when I get online.

Hold on, there are 2G sim cards? I got a 2 year old sim card, still in my phone, and I was surprised when I saw a new one in T-MO upgrade package..
I had rooted it, and flashed twrp, 2.6.3.2, and somehow wiped the OS off it, along with the SD card. so now I'm pretty much stuck in TWRP and can't seem to get a push or sideload to work. adb sideload apparently doesn't exist anymore, and when I do a push, I see the file get created on the phone but even after letting it sit for almost an hour, it still hasn't finished according to adb. I need to get a rom back on the device and not sure what to do next.
edit: I should add that even though I see a zip when I'm pushing, when I try to flash it, it doesn't work

If it can see the external card maybe you can load the os from there...Copy from your PC to the card and load it.Not sure what else you can do...I wish you luck.
EDIT:Maybe if you try to do it the legal way,i mean with LGs update or something from the pc,might work?

I think your only option is to go back to stock and attempt your changes again. Just follow the directions here and you should be good to go: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
I just tried it and I was in a somewhat similar boat as you, and it solved the problem.
NOT true you should be able to sideload the roms using adb while in twrp. Click advanced and use sideload feature. ..you'll have to look up the push commands

you seriously just saved my ass man, thank you!!! I'm back up and running now
I never mod unless there is a return the stock and have ran through the guide and actually restored the phone. And this phone requires a lot more steps than a Sammy phone so I am glad I did that. Saved me twice already and saved time when I was in a pinch since I already knew how to do it.
