Next week i am going to bike to netherlands so i thought maybe it is nice if i have a bike mount. So during my breaks ( during my exams) i builded my own bike mount. And this is the result. It doesn't look that nice bu it's really handy.

does anybody already did something like this. because i want some nice ideas for my next project
Something that would be pretty cool -- give it a power pack for on the bike too
That's veeeery nice! Great work!
yeah i just bought a solar charger with a battery inside. but that i have to mount on my backpack but there is a usb wire from my backpack over my bike to my htc.
For this i cutted out some of the metal for the mini usb
Make it charge by the tire rotation will be much cooler!
Not DIY, but there's this unit...
http://www.dahon.com/accessories/2010/biologic-reecharge
I've got one but haven't gotten around to mounting on my dahon bike with the front hub dynamo yet
Some other options
http://www.hymini.com/
I am using my old Dicota keeper on my bike.
i was holding with this my iPAQ, Sony Ericsson P1i and now Touch PRO
Hmm, I'd be concerned that a vigorous bump would cause the phone to take a tumble. After being in at a least a couple car accidents with that kind of holder, where I got rear-ended, the phone didn't stay in the cradle. Wipe out on the bike and the phone goes flying :-(

I was thinking - since JAM is identical to Treo 600/650 all cases for Treo should work more or less with JAM. I've found this case in local Future Shop store. I thinks that it works wih JAM better than with Treo!
There is no hole for a camera buttom at the left side, but it can be pushed through the case no problem. Volume slider is acessable 75%. At the bottom Mini USB ann headphone jack are acessble through the Treo connector hole!
It's very easy to take unit of the case and use it naked, if you are in safe enviorment. But if you're on the go, I think this case is perfect, it protects front plate and the screen from grease and dirt and sctrathes. Of course, it's not a bulletproof but gives me better, more secure feeling.
Just want it to share
Hi!
Yeah! Thats true. I tried my "old" Covertec Case for Treo 600... works!

Hi All,
I put this question on MODACO (the place of how to take the JamIn apart!) for a week but got no reply - so I hope someone here can help me!
http://www.modaco.com/USB-damaged-t255421.html
I had the famous earphone-spring switch stuck & my phone always tried to use the earphone.
Thanks to the wonderful tutorial from Iain, I managed to open the case & fix problem.
Unfortunatly, something went wrong while using the hot air iron - Now I've no USB connectivity!! - It's charging but no AS connectivity!
I want to check a component placement.
there is a place for a diode near the USB socket on the PCB - there's no diode on my phone only a silk screen label indicating that a diode should be there - and I think that the hot air iron blow the diode away.
Would anyone please check his phone - post a photo of the PCB on both sides of the USB connection or send a schematic or a circuit diagram for the prophet.
Unfortunatly I don't have a digital camera other than the one on the phone
Thanks for yor help

Hi all,
Any help?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Hi,
I'd like to share with you that I am using a Crumpler case for my HTC TyTN II. The case I am using is called The p.p. 55. It fits the phone perfectly and is great for taking in and out of pockets. The only disadvantage is that it zips all the way round so is not particularly wired headphones friendly as you have to leave it unzipped at the bottom but overall I am very happy with it as a phone case.
Cheers,
andrew-in-woking
Got a link ?
I dont want my loose in my pocket, but the standard case that came in the box is way too bulky for when wearing jeans.
the att tilt (us version) doesn't come with a case. andrew, do u mind taking pics and posting them? i used to have the seido case which is awesome! i have the invsishield but haven't installed it yet.
With a quick google search I found it on amazon here.
Doesn't look too bad, with a variety of colours.
This was the original one that came with the phone:

The massive problem was the un-removable clip on the back. I say un-removable, but it can be removed, though it would have to be permanently by clipping it off.
Hello, does any one has some experience with the Brando Car Handsfree Kit ?
Is the charger powerfull enough?
Does it mount good in the car?
Here is a link:
http://shop.brando.com.hk/prod_detail.php?prod_id=02680&dept_id=039&cat_id=0763
i have one like this it was broken after few months from the sun and the headphone/radio exit stoped working
I've tried at least 4 units like this one, and they always suck.
The only brando handsfree kit that I could see working well is to have one sitting in the passenger seat.

Have you actaully tried this unit - or just ones LIKE it?
Reason I ask is I am after one for my Diamond and the Diamond Brando Handsfree kit which appears identical but for the cradle itslef has good reviews from people using it.
So while your post puts me off somewhat - it appears you have not actually used this one. Is that correct? In which case I will take what you say with a grain of Salt.
Can anyone else who is actually using this give some feedback please.
Opened up an old PC on a stick to see what I could do to improve wireless signal and ended up breaking off what appears to be a part of the wifi antenna however I have no idea what it is correctly called, a few google searches and I come up short. I want to know what the part is called so that hopefully I can find out how to reattach it.
The part looks like a gold color pin that pushes in, sort of like a micro plunger. When the case is put back together there is a metal plate on the case that makes contact with this pin to create an antenna of sorts.
I would just solder it back on but I can't make out any metal contact left to solder to on the spot where it broke off from.

Howdy mate,
That's a surface mount pogo pin, Lson is a company that makes them, you could probably salvage one if you could find an old car kit or phone charger from the late 90's. You could also replace it with a piece of springy steel from a battery terminal but that might affect the antenna wavelength.
Tetsuo
Thank you!
That is exactly correct
