Yep, me too. Can't get onto phandroid either (think it's the same site)

Looks like their DNS is hosed. Who knows what else.

Its up now; but seems to be very slow.

still down for me

Still no luck here either.
Strange thing just happened though when I clicked on a save URL to the site...It prompted me for a user name and password immediately.
Very weird!!

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
That is the result of attempting to get into the site at 11:30 am Central time.
It appears they have been compromised, big time, because the generic address is yielding the "/" (root) folder, which is protected.

Great and I entered my user name and password like a moron!!

I'm glad to see this thread. I got locked out since about 8:30 MST last night and saw that enter username/password thing. Scared me so I x'd out of the tab but still can't get into their forum today. Sucks that they were hacked. Why do people do that?

It's up again now.

Yes, they are still having problems. Was working fine earlier but just tried again & get the following message :-
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare getHostName() in /home/arrowbe/public_html/neverstill/openx/www/delivery/afr.php on line 207
Hopefully will be sorted soon.

The site's back up and running.

Can't add google account

I have an Archos 101 with firmware 2.1.04 and I've installed the Android Market via the gAppsInstaller app. However, when I try to add a Google Account, I get this error message:
"Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server"
I can sign into my Google account through the web browser without any problem. I've tried re-initializing the tablet, reinstalling the gAppsInstaller app, and I've also tried installing the Android Market with the Arctools app available in Appslib. And I've tried force stop/clear data on the google applications listed in Manage Applications.
Has anyone else had this problem or have any suggestions for fixing it? I would really like to get the Market and Gmail working on my Archos 101. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Same here, something must be down. Try again later...
Sucks to be us.
Ahh, ok. Just got the 101 today, thought I had borked something up. Thanks for the quick reply, I'll try again tomorrow.
Had the same issue with my droid.
My droid required a factory reset to fix this problem. According to google its an issue with the settings.db file that stores your account info.
I've been playing with my new 101 all evening trying to get it to work and have had the same results as you.
I tried rooting with z4root to delete the .db file but it doesn't work either.
su and sudo don't exist in a shell. With my un-rooted droid typing su would produce "permission denied." not "command not found."
I don't think this is a server issue... although I could be wrong. I think its an issue with the app's not being able to read or write to settings.db
"data/data/com.google.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db" in case anyone wants to try something with it.
I also haven't had any luck connecting the thing to adb... but I'm going to try another machine not running ubuntu 10.10 as I've been reading there are a lot of issues with the SDK and 10.10 for some reason. Anyway good luck and if I find a fix I'll post it here.
Yes, I'm having the same problem! It has nothing to do with the tablets or accounts. I tried a fresh install and multiple accounts and none worked. This is something on Google's end.
Edit: @n8hack - z4root doesn't work with Archos after firmware 2.0.54.
I have the same problem too!! Help!!
Thank GOD it's not just me..
I just got my Archos 101 last night and spent hours and hours resetting, formatting, installing firmware via USB etc.. only to come up with the same results.
Anyone with some advice would be greatly appreciated.
(P.S. Thanks to n8hack for testing)
This is very frustrating. It is a problem for everyone trying to add NEW Google accounts to their tablet. People are starting to post about this over at the ArchosFans forum also. This just started to be a problem on the 14th.
I've tried almost all of the tricks I've found in forums, but none seem to help.. I'm still looking for a solution.
Edit: I put a post up on Google's support forum:

I have my 101 rooted.
In terminal, after i type "su" without quotes I get the # prompt (rooted w/ su access)
then I type (without quotes) "ls data/data/" and com.google.android.providers.settings is not listed.
So i try (again, without quotes) "ls data/data/com.google.android.providers.settings/" (to get a list of what's in there) and I get a "not found" error.
now either I typed it wrong, or that particular directory doesn't exist (just my amateurish guess... I'm not very fluent w/ android/linux command line at all)
Hope this helps

I have not had the problem myself but it sounds reasonable.
My market stopped working last night after unfixing the market to revert to the original state. I have re-fixed, tried a full reset and reinstalled gappsv5-final, tried a different (new) account, reset date/time and nothing works. If you have the market working, beware of unfixing/fixing as this is what killed mine. This is really terrible! but at least I know I am not alone.

I've got the same problem, since this morning. Yesterday, it was all ok (also refixing Market).
This morning I reformatted my device (Archos 70 It), then I downloaded Arctools from AppsLib and I installed Market. But there is no way to add Google Account to my Archos...
Some people over in the Nook forums seem to be having the same issues.
Early reports that the following works as a workaround. Dunno if it'll work on the Gen 8 devices though.

1. Go to youtube.com and sign up for a new account, using the email address you want to add to your phone
2. Open the YouTube application on your Adroid phone, sign out of your account if you're currently signed in (menu button -> sign out)
3. Sign in-menu button-my account, log in with your EMAIL ADDRESS (not your YouTube username)
4. Now You're all done - you can sign out of the account in the YouTube app again if desired. Go to Settings-Accounts and you should see your account in the list.

Really looks like a google server issue to me.
Holy crap! I just kept restoring stuff with Titanium Backup and POOF! I got this thing.
The last time I tried it, I disabled WIFI, and restored my data for G-Talk, Market & GSF. Rebooted, accepted the location dialog, and turned on wifi. Now it works!
There is a fix for this in the Gtab forum. Just install market enabler and fake t-mobile NL (thats what i used) might work with other operators. I had tryed all day on my AdventVega. I just did this and it worked. Thanks to the guys in Gtab forum. Its the sticky thread
I tried using the market enabler app, but all I get is a "Houston we have a problem" error message when I try to fake any provider.
Thanks all for the suggestions..
Youtube method doesn't work
Time and Date are correct
Market Enabler didn't work
I'll try restoring with Titanium.

If you have a good Titanium Backup, restore Accounts, Google Services Framework, Market and Google Talk. REBOOT before attempting to access the Market.
I was able to get mine working this way, I was then able to modify my build.prop and gain access to all apps (finally!!).
Any solutions for non-root users (i.e., those without market enabler or titanium backup)? I really hope that we non-root users are not locked out forever.

Never saw that error, there seems to be a rash of problems with downloads
using certain browsers on certain webservers. Try saving the file to a specific
location (ie: desktop), and manually typing a filename (ie: revolutionary.zip).
If not, download a different web browser and try that.
Hard to troubleshoot an exact windows issue without having physical access
to the computer. I could email you the revolutionary file, as I didn't have
problems downloading it, but it'd be better to sort out the issue you are having first.

E footer is wrong, e signature verification failed when installing OTA update?

Hi folks!
Just bought myself an S5, have successfully rooted the phone, and decide to install the Alliance Rom with no issues.
I then downloaded the Black Glass OTA Theme, went into recovery mode and tried to unzip the file (Using Philz touch) - I received the following two error messages: "e footer is wrong, e signature verification failed"
I'm on android v4.4.2 - I backed up prior to this so I've just restored back to factory settings for the meantime, but I'd like to know why I'm getting those two errors if possible?
Many thanks!

Could be many reasons, you don't have enough information yet to know. Crucially, you failed to paste the verbatim error and the context surrounding it here. Or even link to the theme you refer to. So we don't have much to go on.
As it is labeled as an OTA theme, it will be specifically formatted for that custom ROM. So wouldn't it make more sense to seek help in the custom ROM support thread?
The actual error could be anything from a corrupt download (did you verify the md5 checksum or try downloading the theme again?) to a marginal USB cable (did you try a different USB cable and port?). Or many other things. Did you search the support thread to see if anyone else was troubleshooting similar issues?
.
Sorry, I'm completely new to the forum so don't know my way about.
How would I go about obtaining/providing the verbatim error?

You can copy and what you see on screen from the log that Odin or Kies makes. Or alternately make a screenshot.
Most questions could be expediently answered by a search of the forum too. But for some reason, most people don't try that.

I appreciate that, I did try looking via the forum before asking but didn't find any mention of 'verbatim'...
I also searched for the errors I am experiencing and whilst I found several other threads, none are a similar scenario to mine.
I am not using Odin or Kies, I was able to root my phone successfully, and installed the Alliance Rom with no issues.
My issue occurs after downloading an the OTA update/theme and then going into recovery mode > Install Zip > Choose zip from /sdcard > OtaDownloads/ > Install Black_Glass_S5
I ticked to check the MD5 sum, it came back with with 'MD5 check: error'
Signature verification causes the 'E: footer is wrong and E: signature verification failed' errors.

Your search technique needs polishing. If some particular keyword doesn't work in a search, then use a synonym or reword your search query.

And there is crucial information that you didn't provide earlier. The very reason why I wanted the verbatim context. We are't psychic and can't help you effectively if you don't provide a detailed account.
Adding those details is a huge improvement. You selected a feature (check md5) without understanding how it worked. That caused an error. You then asked us what the error meant without telling us that you had done that and not providing any context or details for us to work with.
The error message, in context, tells us that you either tried to check md5 on a file that doesn't have a md5 - therefore a spurious error. Or the file was profoundly corrupt.
.
It's not my intention to be vague, I simply do not know what information is relevant/beneficial to you.
I deleted the file and then re-downloaded a new copy but it still won't unzip the file, the issue also occurs for another OTA file.
If there's specific info I can provide then by all means let me know and I'll provide it.
Appreciate the help and patience - evidently I'm still a noob when it comes to all the features/tools.

If you were already an expert, you could pare down the details in your post to the minimum amount needed. But when seeking help in an area that is new to you, you should provide the maximum amount of information. If in doubt post more, rather than exclude something when troubleshooting.
Nothing impairs someone from providing effective help as much as missing crucial details. The only things you should withhold are personally identifying info e.g. serial numbers.
Someone knowledgeable trying to help you can easily sift through too much info. Not the reverse.

Do you mount your SD card into a USB card reader and then use in a USB port on your desktop or laptop?
because if you accidentally made the "E" port into "read only" on one file, or anything on the drive it could have locked the entire drive down, which to me is exactly
what it sounds like,
put the card back into your desktop, right click as if you were ejecting drive. select properties> preferences> share file settings and set to "Everyone"
yes i know its old, but its not a bad thing to bring up to answer for other newbies right on front page.
thanks this helped me a lot

[DEV][BETA] Introducing REDLOTUS - Open Source Huawei Update Tool for manual updates

Hey,
I have mentioned it in a couple of threads already, now I feel it's time to release it:
REDLOTUSimportant, may 6th: apparently I was the only person so far who was successful with this, do not rely on it yet please!
REDLOTUS is an update tool which helps you to convince certain HUAWEI-Phones there is a new update available.
I started developing it because I felt that funkyhuawei is a bit overpriced for some more trivial use cases, but mostly I do not feel comfortable opening up my network for potential man-in-the-middle attacks by routing all DNS requests to some unknown person. On the other hand, funkyhuawei is to be acknowledged for their remarkable chat support, and their broad resources and knowledge - all of which I can not offer personally.
REDLOTUS is free and open source and self-hosted, while still simple enough to use.
Simply speaking, REDLOTUS pretends to be a Huawei update server to HiSuite (and later, to eRecovery).
It was successfully tested with my Huawei P10 VTR-L09, where I used it to re-flash the VTR-L09C432B123-Firmware after I had lost some functionality while flashing
Roadmap: Right now, this tool works only against HiSuite, but I am actively working on letting it work with eRecovery.
The source code, roadmap, and precise instructions live on Github:
Important, may 6th: apparently I was the only person so far who was successful with this, do not rely on it yet please!
https://github.com/lukx/redlotus
I wish you good luck with the tool.
Special Thanks you's go to

@frgo nope, actual bug. sorry, I am fixing it right away
Edit: I had forgotten to create the firmware directory before using it, if you run "git pull" in the folder, it should start to work.
This is great news. I have a bit of a learning curve before I'll feel comfortable doing this but I applaud your efforts in bringing a solution to the P10/P10+ upgrade "problem"!

Haven't quite figured out to get a "git pull" to work without it complaining about overwritten files with the merge, so I've downloaded the .zip and unpacked that. Happy to report that everything is now working, downloads currently in progress. :good:

My pleasure. I'm a little wary about proceeding with the upgrade as I see that both the FunkyHuawei method and the "Mate 9" HWOTA method have resulted in a few instances with SIM not being detected after upgrades to C432 devices. Would be nice to see a few success stories before I give it a try.
Just need the nerve to hit the button!

I had this issue, also posted on reddit (funkyhuawei sub).
After investigation it seems like an issue with the firmware itself not detecting the SIM (as Huawei probably made some small differences in the hardware other than the NAND scandal).
For me there were two options - either revert back to C109 (Orange) or use the C636 (Asia generic). I went with the latter and have no issues as of now (after a week). Plus I converted my single SIM VTR-L09 into a dual SIM VTR-L29.

That's interesting. I believe this has occurred since C432B123 and is still there with B125 and B130. If it is indeed an issue with the firmware itself I find it quite alarming that Huawei haven't been on the case to fix it ASAP. I have no need of dual SIM and would prefer to keep the C432 region firmware, so I may be forced to wait...
EDIT: Although I guess if a revert to C432B120 will rectify the fault then nothing ventured, nothing gained? Especially now we have the RedLotus method to flash firmware!

On a side note, I installed first L09C432B130, then L09C432B126.
They both had Dual Sim menu in the settings, except the SIM was NOT recognized. Yes, I double checked if they are L09 or L29.
Did not try B120 tough.
Again, not all L09s have this issue, so it is kind of odd.
On the other hand in C636 the difference I noticed are 3 apps (which can be uninstalled) for asian language input.
Error
Hi guys, congratulations for this wonderful guide. I've run all the steps described correctly, downloaded the firmware for my P10Plus correctly, set up the hosts (I have 3, 127.0.0.1 localhost, .. 1 localhost, 127.0.0.1 query.hicloud.com), but when executing the "npm run listen-huawei" command I get the error
- (node:5744) UnhandledpromiseRejectionHarningwarning: Unhandled promise rejection (rejection id:1): error: query.hicloud.com does not resolve to localhost. Please make sure your hosts file is correct.
- (node:5744) UnhandledpromiseRejectionHarningwarning: Unhandled promise rejection (rejection id:2): error: query.hicloud.com does not resolve to localhost. Please make sure your hosts file is correct.
What's the problem? Thank you all

Try either with only " 127.0.0.1 query.hicloud.com" or put that one first in the HOSTS file?
Unfortunately the update failed. Downloaded and installed okay but when the device rebooted it failed, I think, at the verification stage.

I added line 127.0.0.1 below those already in the Hosts file ... in the original hosts file there were 2 localhost:
:: 1 localhost
127.0.0.1 localhost
Now instead:
:: 1 localhost
127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 query.hicloud.com

I don't think you can have 127.0.0.1 pointing to both your own PC (localhost) as well as a web URL. Remove ":: 1 localhost" and "127.0.0.1 localhost" and it should work. You can always change it back later.

Flashtool error

Hi guys,
before flashing my new X Compact I wanted to make sure that it is safe to do so because I get weird error message starting flashtool. Never seen it before. Seems to be a Java script error but I don't know what could be causing it. Below is a screenshot of said problem.

At the end of those cryptic lines it says "The syntax for the file name, directory name, or disk label is incorrect"
I have no idea what that means.
Can somebody tell me if I can just ignore this error and flash my phone or if it's not safe?
Flash away.
Thanks again for your answer.
Do you have any idea what kind of error that is and what is causing it?

It looks like some kind of server error rather than the software, the time to be concerned is if it gives errors whilst trying to flash.
