So I accidentally installed the tip calculator widget from the MarketPlace, and it overwrote the one that came with the phone. The new one is supposed to only work on the Eris, and it looks all messed up on mine.
Does anyone have a link to the apk for the Incredible's tip calc?

Does anyone know how I can change the fonts in Facebook back to stock? I installed some apps and when I was done, the fonts in facebook, as well as google maps have changed to this hard to read tiny 7 segment led display looking things.
I tried this in another forum but i think this is a more general issue and not a Rom issue.
Thanks,
Jeff
That's one of the reasons I got ride of it and there are many many reasons to get rid of it number one reason being it sucks...
www.lite.facebook.com via Opera is a million times better.

Yea, I agree, that app does kinda suck, but the pickle of it is that the fonts also have changed in my Google maps, not the text on the map, but all of the search results and gps loading test up in the upper right corner.
I don't get it, they were fine before I installed one of the many apps I usually use.
Thanks,
jeff
Just an FYI, I had this problem too... The font looked all straight and boxy, terrible quality, almost like a very old terminal font... However, all of the sudden one day it went back to regular. I dont know what I uninstalled or whatever in the time being, because i didnt uninstall something just with that purpose, but it definitely did go back to regular after a few random uninstalls... unintentionally.
cool, thanks, that is exactly what my font looks like, like something out of the early 80's.

I know what caused these font's (both in Google Maps and Facebook) to change on my TP2 - installing TouchWatch2 (which includes the LCD font). I think the problem is actually in Facebook/Google though - I think they somehow link to their default font by number, not name, so if a new font is installed they end up using a different one than expected...
Not tried fixing mine though - I liked the 80's!!

That is a good hypothesis, I to love the touchwatch, but my fonts got buggered, I believe when I installed the gps cycle thing and that used nice rounded fonts.
I am hoping that someone on here can tell me where how I can install a different font in the font pool that these programs use so i can fix it, I really dont care about the Facebook being hard to read but the Google maps thing is really hard to read.
Thanks all,
Jeff
This happened on my Google maps apps some weeks ago and is related to a font called TRANGA__.TTF being installed which can be found in the Windows\fonts folder, along with TRANA___.TTF.
I think it may have been installed alng with the 'GPS Location' app but I'm not sure.
Today I renamed the TRANGA__.TTF as zTRANGA__.TTF then copied tahoma.ttf to Windows\fonts and renamed it as TRANGA__.TTF.
This has solved the problem in the Facebook app, which I had just installed, and Google Maps also.
HTH
Note: TRANGA__.TTF gives a digital display with all the bars filled in, possibly to indicate no value in the GPS app. I also replaced the TRANA___.TTF which is a digital style font is probably used to give the lat and long but I have replaced that also.
I will miss Swype. Any one else has the same problem? It was stock, just updated to 2.2 over the air, and 1st thing I noticed is Swype was trashed. It's there, but won't do anything....
reinstall it. It works fine on 2.2 but it needs to be reinstalled.

ha ha. Good advice. I installed it again. It works. hopefully it's the only application that needs to be reinstalled.
I lost my news feeds as well. The News application was replaced by a strange weather/news application. I liked the old one better.
Nothing compares to the new Accuweather application, the problem is that it crashes on Evo, but it has hourly weather and the HTC weather doesn't.
Thanks. Swype working again.
The old news is still there... pheeww! It was just wiped off my screen after the installation....
mine has both the news and the news/weather app. Love how swype has to add an attachment or send next to where you text instead of having to go to the menu to do this.
Found this looking around the forums runs smooth on the bionix 2.2 build...install then reboot for smooth runnings...enjoy.
Might need some minor tweaks but looks clean.

Nice, I'll try this. Downloading now. Thanks for the heads up.
Yea I'm running it now...thinking of some tweaks needed for memory and style on the widgets but other than that running like silk.

Did you have to rename the file to install?
EDIT: nm, didn't read.
Phone icon on launcher does NOT work
I was just gonna say that. Dialer shortcut not working.
I can't log on to FB from the widget. But so far I like it. Looking good.
looks good... Thanks.
wow looks nice i may try this in a few days still thinking about going obsidian so this may be my launcher of choice for the new build
Yea dialer is broken but ill see what I can come up with...at work now ill see what I can fix after I get home and get the kids in bed...haven't had time to look at it too much yet

I tried it yesterday and it was a pretty cool concept. You are right about needing some tweaking though. It would be awesome if this could take the place of Touchwiz in a 2.2 ROM. I might have to get out the good old Rom Chef handbook...
The launcher needs to look different imo, everything else looks good. I like how swiping up brings up the tray that's pretty slick. I'd be happy with the stock TW launcher look to be honest.
has anybody found a work around for the Phone button?
I when into Super Task Manager and I see the Phone.apk, because on the original Thread said to rename it to that in case it didn't work but it is already Phone.apk.
Phone Button is like Froyo launcher2.
You will need to smali it & edit to according.

yes sir.
Just got home and kids refuse to sleep atm...yea a simple rename is all it is calling for a simple rename of the phone.apk should fix the issue I just haven't torn apart the launcher apk yet so I'm unsure of the name if the kids crash out soon I can start the digging...lol...gotta love kids...they are like living with full time drunks....you never know what they are going to do next or where they hid you power supply for the laptop at...

Just digging into it myself - 614,165,225 files in there - any hints where it is in there?
Edit - Are there apps or system files that rely on "Phone.apk"? Will it be easier to change the name that dell looks for rather than changing the name of the apk?
Edit 2 - No luck here...
Been digging threw lines of code in the launcher looking for all the files and apks it calls for might be a day or so before I have this fixed...back to 18 hour days at work do this will have to be spare time project...

Running this now. Phone icon works. All widgets besides music, which gets immediate force close when trying and facebook not login are working. Pretty smooth. Im getting some force close on miuui music player, could be unrelated. Fairly useable on my superfast vibrant, froyo of course : )
p.s. Ill try to dial this in some more.

Ive seem to have deleted my Widgets for Faves/family, Friendstream @ Calender. I had to clear data on one ofmy HTC folders and it deleted those widgets. Is where anyway I can get them back? Ive looked on google and in the market and had no success. Anyone have them laying around or know where I can get them from?
Download stock rom or Iced rom and take what you need. I assume you know what you deleted so you wouldn't have any problems finding it.
Good luck.
PS. Time for a new sig?
Hey everyone.
So I'm stumped on this one. I've noticed that over the last while, Facebook has been overriding my (replaced) stock font. I've replaced all DroidSans and RobotoXXXX based fonts. Everything else is working as it should.
I tried uninstalling the up to date Facebook app, then did a fresh install with an older Facebook app that's dated back to mid March.
Here's where things get funny. Initially, the font is the one I want. I can scroll, look through things, etc. As soon as I leave the app for a bit, the font is replaced with the stock looking android font again. No changes have been made.
I can uninstall the app, install it again, and the same thing happens after a short period of time.
Does anyone have any idea how I can control my Facebook font again? Anyone else having this issue?
Attached is my Rom info.
Here is what it looks like before and after.

I've been having the exact same problem on my Galaxy S5. I cannot figure out the problem.
