Hello, already tried to search, but I think I'm downloading the wrong version, or maybe it does not work with my current rom. I can not seem to find a working swype for my phone. HTC Sprint Hero. Obviously

This should work on any rom version you are trying. Some of the Swype.apk's do not work on the new RUU the black glass one comes to mind... Unless they fixed it but this should be good to go for any of them.
Swype that works
which swype version will work with HD2 Android 2.2 Froyo? all the ones i've found don't work properly. I'm using the Android build for the desire.

Swype:
First rule about swype is, you do not talk about swype.
etc. etc.
That being said, the EVO works, but since it was a beta version released for testing that has now expired, it does not work. You may want to google such queries and not ask them here. Google is your friend. You must have googled at least once to find this place... A little bird told me that some users have a working swype they got from the internets... (but I didn't say that)
Close plz
I am to experiencing issues with swype. I've got an apk from months ago that I've been using from build to build, but the recent build (BANGSTERS) I cannot install.
Frustrating!
I have 2.4.44 and it works perfectly.
Swype 2.4.44 is the beta hacked version of the new and improved keyboard. It will allow you to install and use Swype without receiving those pesky "expired" messages.
PM me for the link if you want.
Swype Beta available for free
Swype Beta is available for free on their website when you sign up as a beta tester. I installed the beta onto prj Clean Desire 0.2 NAND and it works like a charm.
Hi there,
I'm looking for the Swype keyboard for the HTC Legend. I'm currently running a Froyo Rom. I tried one from this website, which didn't work so well, I don't know if it was me or the application because when I opened it, it told me that my trial period expired and that I should upgrade my Swype keyboard application. When I tried using Swype, it would show the line going across but it just wouldn't do anything when I go through the letters, I can only tap on the letters, which would be useless because I would just go back to the normal input method. Any tips? Ideas? Or links to a good Swype Keyboard? The one I tried using but didn't work was:

Thanks for the help.
I have that problem as well ever since the latest version of Swype and after I upgraded to Froyo. Not sure whose fault is it. I switched to Gingerbread keyboard since.
try this rar with version 1.6 swype apk file in it
EDIT: as asked by MOD
you can try to register on swype beta site, and get a newer version of swype. i'm using it, and it work like a charm.
I'mm using Swype since about 3 month. I registered to the beta-program, a friend of mine registered last week and got his version about an hour later. I'm using cyanogenmod 6.1 (Froyo) and swype works like a charm. I also tried cynogenmod 7 (Gingerbread), but there swype closes always.
Get rid of d/l links, or a MOD will. I won't report it, I'm just warning you. On XDA this is seen as warez, and Swype has asked that all download links are removed from here, and all other forums. This sucks, I know. Apply to beta test and hope.
Sorry guys
im on the official swype beta and running froyo...seems like everytime i reboot my phone i have to re-install swype? anyone else have this annoying problem?
Off to Gingerbread
I'm sorry if this is a little off topic, but can anyone please send me a working apk of the Gingerbread keyboard?
I'm on Blayo's ROM, 0.5. I've been trying the app in the market with no success. The app keeps getting FC as soon as I touch the keyboard.
Thank you very much!

I think that is the case if you install swype on sd.
Try to move the app to your phone.

i do have it installed to my internal memory
I am having the same problem, but I'm using data2ext on balyo's b05 rom.I solve this problem by switching input method to touch input and then back to swype.swype is back to normal.

I am using swype on my legend, every reboot you need to long press in a text box and select the android keyboard, then doit again and select swipe, its a known bug. From what i understand it is a problem with timing. Hope this helps.

I was using Swype on Froyo (CyanogenMOD 6.1) without problems. With Gingerbread (CyanogenMOD 7 experimental builds) I had some trouble, as the Swype-keyboard disapeared immediately. After uninstalling Swype and reinstalling it via Swype-Installer everything works again as it should.
New market version:

I installed but haven't managed to check neither before or after what version I have. Anyone knows where to find the current market version?

No it doesn't. At least in mine but I found it somewhere else ==>
Settings/Applications/Manage applications.
Maybe the very first version shows the version number from inside the market but I have updated to newer version before as well. Anyway, it doesn't matter now since there is a way.
Must be new. Mine is 2.2.7
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Mine is still 2.2.7.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Just checked version and mine has updated to 2.2.11.
No visual difference tho!
Does anyone know if the new Gingerbread leak comes with swype installed? I was trying to load the new swype 3.0 beta but I can't uninstall the old one - I'm not sure if this is because I had it installed previously or because it came installed.
Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Not sure but if you're rooted you should be able to uninstall Swype with something like Root Explorer or Titanium Backup. You could then install Swype Beta. Wifey's Evo came with Swype but we uninstalled it with Titanium and Swype Beta works fine on it now.
