Hi guys,
I 'm facing a very weird problem. I own a HTC HD2. I have installed Destinator 7. When the SIM card is not installed (or the SIM is physically installed but I don't provide the PIN) destinator works fine. When I enter the PIN for the SIM, so my phone connects to the mobile phone provider, Destinator software fails to start. The destinator's logo appears on the screen and HTC halts. Power-off button doesn't work and I had to press the hard reset (red pin at the back). I have ran many tests and the conclusion is always the same - Destinator halts when SIM is installed. Does anybody else had a similar behavior? Any ideas for further troubleshooting are welcome.
thanx.
I have both destinator 7 and igo8 on my hd2 and both work without any problems, do you have a branded hd2?
Hi Mathie,
thank you for your reply. My HTC is not branded or somehow locked (I hope). I 'm running the original ROM v. 1.66.482.1 ELL, O/S 5.2.21869, manila 2.5.19211619.0, RF 2.06.51.07. My service provider is Cosmote. I 'm not sure if this information helps, but I cannot think ANY reason why destinator hangs when the telephone SIM is installed.
Is there any possibility the GPS receiver to get a conflict with A-GPS ? I' d rather say no...
N-drive at the other hand, works fine, it's an excellent program, but I 'm get used to Destinator.

have you tried to put another sim card in your phone? wind, or vodafone? and see if the problem insists? have you tried to update quick gps? have you changed the com ports? (by default destinator 7 uses com port 4)
Hello again.
I have tried to perform the following tests.
1) I have replaced cosmote SIM with Vodafon one. I destinator has the same behavior.
2) I turned off RF radio (airplane mode). Destinator works fine but of course I cannot use HTC as a mobile phone.
3) I have formated the entire flash (CF) and create only the destinator directory. The problem persists.
4) I 'm not sure if quick GPS interacts with Destinator, but since you 've mentioned it I run quickGPS version 1.3 (built 1920.2423)
Destinator has been set up to use com4. If I don't register to a Mobile Provider (or RF is dissabled) the program runs fine, otherwise the startup logo fills 9 out of the 10 red arrows and stacks there.
thanks once more for your time.
where did you buy your phone? are you using a stock rom or a cooked one? I am using this rom here and all is well,no problems at all if the problem persists download the above rom and flash your phone with it. i'm sorry but some things get messed up if your rom is not well installed i can't help any more.
Hi again,
thanks for your answer. I 've checked the rom link you 've mentioned. I 'm already running ROM v. 1.66.482.1 ELL. I got the HTC from a recent offer of Vodafon. They sponsor a 450 Euros discount for the device, and HTC HD2 was in the list. I have not flashed the phone yet, since I already have the latest release. I 'll get a full backup and I 'll try to flash it, just to see if that will fix the problem. I 'll post my findings.
thanks.
Hello,
I have good news. I have re-installed the original ROM v. 1.66.482.1 ELL as you have suggested and Destinator 7 works FINE. I still cannot figure out what could of being wrong, with my original same version ROM, but when I re-flashed to the one downloaded from here http://www.htc.com/gr/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=297&cat=2&dl_id=863 the problem is gone.
Thanks once again for your valuable suggestions.

hi
I have a SPV M700 on orange(uk). My gps worked fine without any problems, however today after unlocking the CID so that i could try some roms the gps no longer works. in Tomtom i get messages gps device not found.
I've tried searching in the forums here but cannot find an answer.
Has anyone else had similar problem or know of a solution ?
Thanks
Have you flashed a different radio rom?
What version of the radio do you have now?
Some older radio roms don't support he GPS receiver.
Hi,
I had the same problem. I was given the link below and updated my ROM, this solved the GPS but TomTom kept sticking. I did a bit of digging on this site and found another ROM, which is essentially the original Orange ROM. I have installed this ROM now and am having no problems.
javascriptl('http://rapidshare.com/files/16675831/RUU_Trinity_DOPODASIA_WWE_1.23.707.6_6275_1.35.00.11_108_Ship.exe');
Recommended ROM. (Orange)

I hope this helps.

Further to my reply....
Your phone memory will be wiped when you install the new ROM. So back up any data/files/settings that you want to keep. Your Memory card won't be affected so save everything to that.

Thanks for the quick replies but im a bit confused here .....the rapidshare link is that for the ROM that makes TomTom stick ?
And from the Recommended ROM's, which one is actually the original Oranger 1's ?
Thanks
I hope this helps.
Managed to get it working.
Used the Mozzer Rom for the link given and then swiftly upgraded to the Big Black WM6 rom.
All working fine as far as i can see.
Need to get out the office to test gps properly, but at least it's picking up the gps device.
Thanks again for the help
I had the same problem, I tried several ROMs without any fix, GPS looks desabled.
Then i had one idea, flash the original ROM from HTC, the one that enables the GPS and Voilá it works, then i loaded the ROM i like and keep working.
Hope it helps,
Information please
You downloaded the original HTC ROM with GPS working, but can you tell us the exact site with this ROM... I look but I did`n get it...it would be very helpfully for us.... Thanks a lot.
The link is given in one of the posts above

the file you want is the last one on the list -
Mozzer** English Orange UK**
hope it helps
Earlier this year I had issues with my TC not reliably receiving signals and I had tried a cooked ROM (installed Hard-SPL etc.) - so although I am no expert, I am also not completely "virgin" .
Since that did not solve the problem I restored the original ROMs and had contacted HTC and they sent me a new unit a couple of months ago, which works fine (except that it doesn't show the name of my Mobile provider ... but that's not really an issue right now). I activated my TomTom (incl. maps for Europe/USA/Canada) and that works fine.
Current setup:
ROM 1.28.407.2 GER
Radio 1.58.25.14
Protokol 25.69.30.05H
Windows Mobile 6 Prof. (CE 5.2.1623 - Build 18129.0.4.5)But I've seen that HTC has released WinMobile 6.1 and that XDA-Devs have release custom ROMs with Touchflow3D.
Before I upgrade (either to the HTC 6.1 ROM or any of the great cooked ROMs you guys have developed), just some questions for my own understanding:
a.) Flashing a custom ROM will void my warranty (but I could flash back an official version, if I need to send it in for service), correct ?
b.) Will flashing (either 6.1 or custom ROM) require a new activation for TomTom ? (They have already told me that they would allow this only if I had some kind of receipt that the unit had been serviced or that I purchased a new unit).
c.) What custom ROM would be recommended ? (I realize this may be difficult to answer, but there are so many versions that I am completely confused Especially confusing are issues like whether TomTom is in ROM or not and what other add-ons are included. Basically, I do not need to optimize RAM/ROM-usage ... )Cheers,
Andreas
A: Correct
B: The TomTom shipped with the phone does not require activation. the maps however do.
I found that the Device ID does not change after software upgrade. So i dont need to re-activate my maps. Just dont delete your map files, reinstall TomTom and ur ready to go again
C: Depends on ur own like. i used UdK Syrius R1 and it was real good. Now i have M-Amine 2.0 Rom in my own language. also very good.

Is the device ID tied to the IMEI ?

The device ID should be linked to the hardware, and the application name, and not to the ROM/device firmware.

Should be ... or is ? Sorry if I am being pushy on this, but I just want to avoid having a great ROM upgrade, but a non-functional TomTom (which is very important to me ... a functional one, of course ).
Cheers,
Andreas
Hi.
First of all sorry about posting this but i have already tried everything i found but with no success.
My p3600 doesn't want to work with gps on tomtom. I've tried different ROMS (6.1,6.5) and different tomtom versions but with no luck.
My gps configurations are correct and i've tried every single one of them. TOMTOM: com9 gps; internal; etc.. On settings too.
It says that has no gps device.
Is there any fix?
Thanks in advance
ps: This was my father phone and had always windows 5.0. With this software and tomtom 6 everything always worked just fine. I think that it should work too with this settings.
Thanks.. Solved with a new RADIO rom!
can post the link of this ROM pls, I have one S300+ and don't find the original rom with GPS ?
Best Regards,
Pedroleroi.
Hi.
I didn't install a original Rom but a radio rom. It's different. I think this is the one : /showthread.php?t=325197

Hi peeps.. first post after a long term user..
I recently updated my TD2 to official 6.5 rom. No problems apart from the usual bugs.
Until yesterday when my phone CPW sim free on ORANGE network decided to not find network! I've had this phone for about 10months so i tried different area with no luck. My sim in another phone seems to work fine and an 02 sim works in the TD2..
After useless advice from ORANGE(*manual search, gsm mode etc), they have advised me to take it to CPW..
I've just HARDSPL and installed new RADIO .57 with no luck. Hard resetted it with no luck... and im just restting the rom again with official 6.5 release.
Has anyone had this problem? orange reassure me the imei number is fine with no restrictions and that my account is up and running..
what to do?
thanks

Assuming you have verified your network settings and ran the setup wizard (and HR after flashing the ROM) just keep trying different radios.
It is possible to be a hardware problem. I had a Mio A701 with the same simptoms and the radio chip was broken; there were two solutions: replace motherboard or buy a new one. So, I became a HTC owner and A701 is used only for GPS.
It is possible but highly unlikely since it occurred after you changed ROMs.
it occured about two weeks after the update..
tried different roms and radios.. no luck
have just flashed 6.5 with stock 1.33 spl and it booted then its crashed... fails to load pass HTC screen... tri color mode connects to usb but doesnt allow me to flash anything stays on 0%

Try SDcard build r175 here
Remember you should run this build first time without SIM card.
r175 can enable GPS so it will run in WM and CM builds.
The r175 ROM, freezes and i can't use, but GPS it's alive on WM6.5.
Thank you very mutch.
It was any rom that i can use in HDMini, with no problem on GPS? I've tested Cotulla_PHOTON_AD_Users and cm-7.2.0-RC0-photonic with problems.
Best regards.
Thanks it helped !!!

After you 'revive' you GPS with r175 you can use schlund's NAND CM7.2 build with GPS working normally.
Just be sure you nave GPS on in WM when you start flashing CM7.2
hello,
I had to same problem before. To correct you must boot again under Android to swith the GPS on/off. After next reboot after in WM65, GPS will work again.
best
bruno
thanks for the solutions.
Best regards.
Hi all,
I am having big trouble ith my GPS.
On WM 6.5 I do not having GPS. It's enabled at the SD Android version r175-final.
I am using Tom Tom on my WM 6.5. It's just connecting to the GPS module I think but it's waiting for signal endlessly.
Anybody an idea?
I just made a hardreset. I just reinstalled Android to check if it GPS is enabled there....do idea left.
Thx ahead guys
Try to turn GPS OFF in R175 then start win and open Google Maps with "enable GPS" checked.
Enable HTC location and stuff in winmo and download satellites.
You have to be under clear sky when testing
Repeat with turning GPS ON in android. It should work.
HTH,
Hi ci6i,
thx for your help.
I tried your steps, but I din't receive any satellites in google maps.
Do you have a further idea? Or anybody else?
Thx ahead.
To get gps working in winmo, you need to enable gps in android or gps will not work in winmo!!!
Hope you read my first thread...I just tried this without any success.
Maybe you have to put GPS several times On/Off in r175 to get it work in WM. At least it has to be On in Android (test with GPS Status from Google Play).
well guys it's not working in android, too.
I just de-/activated several times, no success. I am a bit hpeless in the moment.
Did you have another Android release installed, a nand release for example?

Its 100 times confirmed... install winmo, than run android sd card version, not nand version! Than enable gps in sd version android, than reboot to winmo and your gps will work 100% (but you need to enable wifi and download satelites before use gps with an aplication). If "download satelite" working in winmo your gps for sure will work.
I not confirm with using r175, I used mine froyo version and every time it fixed my gps...
Well guys,
thx to all of you for your help
I just send my mini to reparing. The HTC guys found out that my GPS tool is damaged.
