Hi all
I recently upgraded to WM6.5 (stock rom, TD2 on Orange UK) and have found that my battery life has reduced dramatically from 2-3 days use to less than 1 day.
I'm not using bluetooth or wi-fi and have tried to remove anything else that may be draining the battery.
The one big difference I have noticed between 6.1 and 6.5 is that I am getting a much stronger signal, 4 bars H compared to 1-2 bars H or 3G before. Could this be a cause of the battery drain?
Also, my memory usage is around the 70-80% mark whereas before it used to be between 40-60%. I have checked task manager and nothing seems to be running in the background.
I would appreciate any advice as this is really spoiling my experience with this fantastic device.
Thanks
Jeff
The wm6.5 you upgraded to is an official rom through Orange? If so, it's probably crammed with unneccessary apps (bloatware) which might explain the memory usage. The Radio ROM was probably upgraded at the same time, which explains why you appear to get a stronger signal (the newest radio roms show more bars, though the actual signal stays the same).
Maybe you would be better with one of the "lean" cooked 6.5 roms? (you need to hardspl first with olinex 1.83)
The higher signal reading wouldn't cause the battery drain, it's more likely something is "waking" the phone from suspend periodically.
Battery life lasts 2-3 days? And 40-60% memory usage on 6.1?!
Wow, I wish my D2 was like that. Mine almost lasts one entire day, and memory usage is always near 70%. I haven't done 6.5 as arabic isn't out for it yet and I need it to read the damn messages companies send.
Hi. I think I might have the same problem with battery after upgrading to official 6.5 WWE. With official 6.1 my battery lasted 2-3 days. Now around 1 day. Also my memory usage went from 50-60% to 70-80%. Then I instaled HTCPedia Topaz settings tool and with some tweaks memory usage droped again to 40-50%. But battery problem still remains. Hmmm I also installed FInixNOverBatteryIcon and then gtrab Batt enhancer. Maybe any of this two apps cause problems with the battery?
I have the ATT Pure and recently DISABLED the auto rotation for TouchFlo 3d. It is disabled by default but I decided that was one of the first things I wanted to change after getting the phone.
So far today, my phone's battery has lasted much longer. We'll see what happens by the end of the day but so far so good.

That's really strange, mine is never over 50% except when I have WMP running or watching movies via CorePlayer or inbuilt videoplayer.
I used the upgrade from the HTC site, so no Orange bloatware.
Memory currently running at 85% even though nothing seems to be running, battery not even making it through the day with just light use, i.e. a bit of surfing, couple of calls and a few texts.
I'm going to try it with the Sense off tomorrow.
Can't beleive the difference between 6.1 and 6.5, its like 2 different phones, and it seems quite a few people are having similar issues.
Is it easy to go back to 6.1?

Afraid I'm getting the opposite - much better battery life.
As an aside, previously I was using Garmin XP satnav and haven't got around to re-installing it yet so thought I'd give CoPilot a whirl. Downloaded the maps and tried it on a 30 min journey tonight. Worked pretty well but the battery drain was much less. 100% down to 90% after 30 mins. Before with Garmin XP, it would pretty much drain the battery in an hour.
Not sure this is an core improvement to GPS battery life in 6.5 or because CoPilot has a lower battery drain.
Cheers, Rob.

im having the exact same problem and im also interested in going back to 6.1 (the good old days when i didnt have to mess around with my phone for hours per day just to get it to function as expected eh!) 6.5 is so frustrating and can i ask what the point is of the honeycomb?
had my d2 since CW stocked it in april, and was fine until 6.5.
Hmmm...An hour ago my topaz was full charged. I made two calls while phone was pluged in. Before I unpluged it I checked battery information. Everything was ok. Time of last full charge half an hour before, standby time, call duration and device usage. Then I unpluged the phone and the time of last full charge changed to the second I unpluged the phone and all other values went to 0. Ok. That seemed ok because of talking some minutes before. I was happy and I tought now it would be OK. But 5 min ago I checked the status again...and guess what...last full charge is "Not applicable" and all other values are set to 0. sad sad sad
I'm getting major battery drain after I upgrade to the official wwe 6.5 rom as well. It's unpredictable though. Several times in the past couple weeks i've barely made it halfway through the day, then other times it's fine. I can't see any difference in what's running. This never used to happen with 6.1.
I'm getting the opposite. really much better battery life after upgrading to wm 6.5 on my diamond 2
Currently running official htc wm 6.5, ROM: 2.16.412.1 (67041) and RADIO: 4.49.25.17
Profiling Tools
Hi,
I upgraded to Dutty's 6.5 ROM - it seemed like the charge lasted for a full day but for the last couple of days battery performance has been pathetic. I checked the task manager - nothing seems to be out of place - memory usage is around 50%. I have two emails accounts set to pull items as they arrive and weather/facebook data is also pulled at regular intervals. Despite these the charge used to last for more than a day...
I am wondering if there are any tools which can show me the CPU/Memory usage by various tasks over a period of time... The phone is always warm for the last couple of days and the home screen animations are stuttering...
Any Suggestions????
TIA
Ashwin

Wallpaper and Battery Drain
Found the reason why Battery Drain increased in my TD2 Running Dutty's Wm6.5 ROM suddenly. Hard to believe but its because I have the weather animation wallpaper turned on and I changed the background to a bright colorful one (something that came with the ROM - i believe its a stock wallpaper!!)
I am not sure how (probably because of more processing required to overlay the translucent clouds over the bright red wallpaper) but this increased battery drain tremendously. Battery did not last for 3/4th of a day.
I have now switched back to the dull black wallpaper and the drain is back to the original rate (last for 1.5 days with all the other features turned ON (no 3G))...
Others, please check this out - maybe this is a common problem
--Ashwin
I upgraded to the official HTC 6.5 ROM and have the same issues with the battery barely lasting a day. If only that was the least of the problems.
Configuration is similar to my 6.1 build, except on this I've disabled the HTC Sense front end as I thought this might be responsible for the slow performance and battery sapping, unfortunately no different :-(

What does this mean? Your battery lasts longer with this setting off?
I can confirm after 3 days, Dutty ROM Holly Grail R6 WWE TP drastic improvent battery life, but i think, it is not only because he back from 2.18 on 2.16 base ROM, have here some Duttys wizard make... However, device now "can live" 2 - 2,5 days with normal using.
For other people who have problem with high battery draining, maybe one very usefull app, author is member xda developers forum:
Battery Guard v0.0.1.3
Regards
My battery life is longer on 6.5 than when on 6.1 (stock roms) and I only noticed that I Had substantial battery drain when I had the camera still running in the taskbar in the top right... that rinsed my battery down in about 2hrs to zero.
Having recently bought and TD2, i really am getting a bit conserned about the battery life ....
Like it's awfull either that or it's just my phone thats gone the way of the dodo.
Can you please share your battery lifespan estimated ?
I bought device a week ago. Battery lasts up to 48 hours if I do not use it too much. If I do, or after several calls battery drains for 24 hours. I checked the settings. It is set to turn off device if not used after 1 minute. I have windows mobile 6.5 original rom.
I voted 72hours. screen off all the time when is not used. Win 6.5 dutty rom. about 20min call /day , 3g always off when not needed. Wifi about 15m / day.
I make a couple of calls on most days, send a few texts. my 3G is generally always on, I use the game/internet for about 15mins when on the bus. My battery lasts about 24hrs :-(
Mine will last a few days when not used much, but when I do use it, I use it.. haha so batter gets to less than 24h
original wm 6.1 rom; data connection off; 30min call/day; 40 sms/day. Screen off when not used: 72h battery life
Same as Psinok
i voted 48 but i believe it can be longer...
when i use regular phone uses (~1hour talking ~5-10 sms ~30min internet per day) battery drains about 20-30% for 24 hours
but if browse with wifi for long time if i use gps for couple hours or make long calls for hour or so it can take 30% at one time so its only depends on usage...
I really find it hard to understand why you guys get so fired up about battery issues!
All these guesstimates have little real world value other than to give some idea of what usage someone else, using their phone the way they do (whatever that may be), gets, in their subjective opinion.
Someone gets this, someone gets that and someone else gets the other. What difference does it make?
The only single usable value would be a phone life (given the ROM, battery age and charging procedures used) from full charge and left on without use until it turns off.
I did extensive tests along these lines with a couple of models of nokia phones a few years back, when the same disquiet about battery life surfaced then.
At the end of the day the main thing you can do to maximise battery life is charge it correctly. And then when you use, it once it's drained, it's drained!
So you charge it again. What you get is what you get. That's it!
If you want to see a huge difference then turn off manilla for a while (for those who are using it).
It's too hard to say exactly, but my battery life was utterly shocking in the first 3 to 4 weeks of owning it. Now, I get much better life.
It all depends...on your ROM
Same usage gives me 12h or 48h...
Some roms are very power hungry, I'm yet to figure out what causes that.
EnergyROM looks great, fast and nice colors but I only get 12h.
Same usage on Dutty's rom gives me 36-48h
Have used a lot of different ROMs but the battery life is usually pretty much the same. 3G always on. I talk in the phone for one hour a day. Sends 20-30 textmessages a day. Dataconnection always on (sync to exchange mail, facebook). My TD2 can easily go for 72 hours.....

Do you mind telling us what ROM you are using?
WM 6.5 Stock ROM
I recently installed HTC WM 6.5 Stock ROM on my Diamond2 and -on the average- a normal day consumes aroung 40 % - 50 % of the battery: couple phone call, several SMS, few minutes of WiFi use.
The battery lasted a little bit longer with WM 6.1 Stock ROM (shipped with the device).
GSM on Work, 3G on other time.
Data Connection avg ~30 mins a day
Music 2 Hrs
some games. (solitare...only)
Little to none calls
few SMSes
Batt: 100 -> 25% within 24hrs.
ROM: TESS PrideIV
Radio: Stock 4.49.25.17
I honestly want to know what you expect.
I woke up at 4AM this morning, and it's not 8PM, and my battery is on 61%. I've done e-mailing, made phone calls, received phone calls, texted, surfed the web a bit waiting for a buddy to meet me at the mall, and Shazamed a couple of songs that came on the radio in the car.
How long do you expect a battery that'll fit in the HD2's slim form to power its extremely demanding hardware?
All expect is a functional and practical device.
I bought this as a work phone. It isn't always practical to be carrying around a phone charger.
"Before we start the meeting, do you mind if I plug my phone into your wall socket?"
Having to plan around charging points on a long work day on the move defeats the point of a mobile phone.
I understand what you're saying about expecting too much, but perhaps phone companies should consider not making such poweful phones until there is a battery powerful enough to support them. It's all well and good having such great technology, but if you can't use it how you want/should what's the point? Just a thought.
Personally the poor battery life doesn't bother me too much, but then I'm not out and about all day.

With the latest radio and an efficient ROM, all that is unnecessary (even with the stock rom and latest radio I bet).
I usually charge it overnight, but forgot to do it last night.
I removed the charging cable yesterday at 8AM, made about 20-25 minutes worth of phone calls, 20 minutes surfing on internet + a few e-mails, around a dozen picture, 10 minutes GPS (iGO8) and messing around with the phone a bit from time to time.
It's now 10AM, so 26 hours later, and the battery is still at 75% (haven't put it on a charger at all, not even in the car while using the GPS).
I wouldn't really call that "having to plan around charging points".
I agree that during a busy work day, you could have more phone calls, but still, you should have plenty battery left (especially if you don't forget to charge it overnight like I did )
Just wanted to share with CHIP how I get around a busy work schedule with the phone.
The key thing is the USB sync/charge cable, when at my desk I sometimes plug the phone into the notebook dock via USB for juice, and it doesn't hurt that it's also syncing with the laptop.
On the move, I've got a USB socket adapter thingamajig for my car's cigarette lighter socket, so if the phone is low, it gets plugged in.
Furthermore if I get the chance to plug the laptop in like in a long meeting, the phone also gets plugged into the laptop via USB for more charging goodness.
It will probably kill the battery quicker this way, but it sure beats not being to use the phone at all, and besides, we did buy a phone that can have it's battery replaced easily right?
in my neck of the woods, you can get a third party USB sync/charge cable for about USD$9...

What would you class as an efficient ROM ?
I find the battery life on this phone abysmal .. To the point i switch off all wireless services except the one im using at the time to enable me to have any time on the phone at all .. Surfing the web on wifi with the other wireless services on i can practically watch the battery life decrease every few mins ..
Something is amiss .. I upgraded the radio to the 2.07.51.05 version but ended up going back to 2.06.50.04 as i found it to be better ..
Whats your profile for enabling wireless services, do you have 3G enabled all the time, Wifi, Bluetooth ?
Cheers
How much battery do you lose over night? On my phone it drops about 12-15% in 8 hours (radio off, flight mode). To me, it seems too much...

there is a problem with battery life, there are lots of problems with this phone..currently my opera browser stopped working, the sms is still not fixed..
the fact that you have no problem with your device does not mean it's the same for everyone..
It's definitely ROM and Radio dependant. The ROM I'm using at the moment is incredible. Comebined with the latest 2.07 radio and my battery lasts for ages.
I was only getting about 10 hours with very light use and push email on when I was on 1.48. Now I'm on a 1.66 based ROM and the battery last about 300% as long.
I'm currently on about 26 hours since last charge and still got 38% battery. That's with push email (peak times 7am til 11pm), lots of surfing, about 20 mins talking and some texts. Over night I lose about 1-2% max.
I'm telling you, with the latest software, this is a different phone. Also it seems like it sorts out the SMS bug too. Upgrading makes this phone everything I wanted it to be when I got it 3 months ago.
Interesting ... I have been using the 1.66 series also and battery is poor.. i need to keep track of proper usage to really see whats going on given i use no push email either .. Im wondering if it could be due to the fact location is on and also the radio is looking for 3g when im in a gprs only location, could all be contributing factors .. gprs data always seems to be connected too ..
Life was simpler with the iPhone (less fun though)

On the ROM I'm using in the Wireless settings there is an option called 3G - Change to GSM Mode. This drops the connection down to GSM if there isn't a good 3G signal. Also there is a setting in BsBTweaks called PowerSaving that I have turned on. This combined with the fact that the 2.07 Radio gives me about 1 bar better signal everywhere seems to have made this phone perfect for me. Maybe you should start experimenting with some battery saving tweaks like this?
I woulld definitely turn off all the auto download stuff like weather, stocks, time sync, twitter etc (except push mail). I mean how important is it that the weather is up to date 24 hrs a day when you probably only look at it once or twice a day. If you need it you can just press the update now button and within seconds you have it updated anyway.
Mine did behave reasonably well untill I started throwing apps and mods at it as fast as I could to get it to the point where I was happy with it. Lights out last night for me was at 01:30 with 94% charge, bluetooth off, gprs connected and trawling for e's avery 15mins..at 06:30 the battery was down to 41% with no programs showing active on task manager and thats after a tidy up last night with MemMaid as well. Guess who's going to be flashing his first new rom later this week ..

Yes, i have all auto download stuff off, weather just annoys me with all that moving clouds etc .. Twitter i refresh when i enter the app.
I have Change to GSM enabled. i am presuming this setting will continue to search for a 3g signal though .. Figured this used more power as the radio would be working harder no ?
I have power saving status enabled ..
The 2.07 radio for me i found really made the battery drain, notcibly so.. I moved back to 2.06 as recommended by the Miri page as i was using his rom at that time .. Not bothered to move back to 2.07 yet .. i may do in a day or so once i get a baseline to compare against.
The other night when i was on 2.07 i surfed the web for half an hour and listned to the engadget podcast for an hour, probably half of that with the screen off and i lost around 30-40% battery .. I blamed the 2.07 as i had better battery before i moved to that i thought..
I need to analyze this rom over the next day or so, i got the device 5 days ago and every day since i got it i have flashed one or more roms / radios so ive not really had a stable config to benchmark, what i do know is that i have the above settings enabled in all roms .. Ill be trying not to flash for the next couple of days to see whats what ..

Why do you need it scanning for emails every 15 mins while you're asleep. Why not change it to manaully download them in off peak hours (1am-6:30am) that way they'll still be waiting for you when you first wake up but not wasting battery checking while you're asleep.

On one of the other battery posts someone said that you need to give the battery a couple of discharge/charge cycles down to 1% with a new ROM/Radio in order for it to accurately be able to predict its charge loss. Don't know how much truth is in this but it might be better to stick with one for a couple of days at least before changing so you can get an accurate comparison.
Ok, yeah ill give it a couple of days to see whats what before i really damn this beast and have to buy the fat extendo battery with kickstand

The rom I found the most efficient is the one I'm using right now (XannyTech Pandora 1.1, though I've read that 1.3 is even better), and my radio is 2.06.51.07.
I have 3G/HSDPA enabled all the time checking for e-mail every 30 minutes, and the other services every hour (except during the night, where it's set to manual).
Wifi and Bluetooth are disabled unless I need them, though (I think that leaving them enabled would make a big difference for my battery life).
I usually surf the web using HSDPA instead of Wifi (since it's pretty fast here), unless I have to download bigger files
I'm not sure how much battery it uses overnight since I usually sync it and leave it charging (only forgot a few times) but I'm pretty sure it was under 5% last night.
Changing the radio and ROM really did make a huge change for me.
The same situation when I was on 1.48 stock + stock radio, my phone would probably be around 20-30% battery instead of 75% at 10AM this morning.
Btw, as an update, I've made about 10 mins of phone calls, and surfed the web over 3G for 10 minutes since this morning, and the battery is now at 68% (3:30PM), so it's been off the charger for 31H30 now.

I had the phone on in airplane mode, en route back from Brisbane (12 hour flight) and listened to music intermittently, and the battery wasn't drained that much. After another flight (2.75 hours) to Vancouver, the battery was still over 50%.
To be honest, I'm actually impressed with the battery life..

Thanks, at least this gives me some hope .. I usually would use 3g for my web surfing but on O2 uk carrier they have no 3g in my area, it will be like this until i get the HD2 unlocked and get on Vodafone, so for the moment im using wifi ..
hye,
I just bought a HTC leo which I really love.
but there is just one thing I'm concerned about, the battery life.
with my htc touch pro 2 I was able to use my phone 2 days before recharging but I can't do that with the htc HD2
IS THERE A WAY TO IMPROVE BATTERIE LIFE?
thanx
use less of your phone the hd2 drains the battery and is very good at that.
Or you buy another spare battery to switch with the exausted one when you're on the go, they're pretty cheap on ebay with a mains charger
only tips, would be turn all you're updates off, i.e, email, weather, twitter, stocks etc. screen brightness, not much else really, i get a full day out of my battery with everything turned on and full screen brightness so im happy
switch off 3G whenever there is no need for it, best is using a tool like wmlonglive to do this automatically. Will improve the battery live especially if signal strength is changing often between 2G and 3G
don't use windows live push mail, it will improve your battery dramatically

my HD2 just takes 30 minutes to drop from 100% to 70 % .....
from the bottom of my heart , i want to say , htc fone ..... not good as they say ,
crap
battery drinker
just after some games , it hots ...............
will change other fone ,
I do not have a problem with the phone. it lasts me 2-3 days depending on where i am. thus depending on phone signal strength.
Further when you want to improve battery life look at the treads about that. there are so many with so many suggestions. quite a few have improved my battery dramatically. search and try.
@Felix
Are you using a Stock-ROM?
When yes, then install atleast BsB-Tweaks and activate the powersaving settings ... (the most cooked roms already have this settings)
It will bring some extra minutes/hours
My HD2 (fully loaded over night) is at 77% after 8 hours and some phone calls (ca. 30 minutes), sms and some gaming and surfing
@enchanter
yes, it drains the battery pretty good and yes its becoming hot when you play games or stuff ... but what is the problem with it?
We all knew this - before we bought a HD2
ha ha , Pliskinius has the coolest answer
" what is the problem with it?

u right man ,
@ pliskinius: I don't know what a stock rom is... it is the rom who was installed when I bought it.
my battery lasts one day and a bit, so there is not really a big problem, but when you go somewhere and forget your charger...
@enchanter: I'm really pleased with my htc, its my 6 or so and they become nicer and nicer..

Try this fully drain the battery until the phone shuts down then take out the battery for two minutes, put the battery back in (DO NOT TURN ON THE PHONE) and charge until the green light comes on, take out the battery for another two minutes then put it back in and start up, this should improve battery life.
Also other factors affecting battery life are the Rom version,Radio and HSPL.
nice idea @nosh - will try it too ... maybe it brings some extra minutes
@Felix
you are using a stockrom (stockroms are the original ones, wich are installed when you pick up a new phone)
get this little tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=589305 and activate the energysaving feature (will improve the battery life)
@ nosh 10: I'll try that thanks, but I heard that fully draining your battery is not a good thing.
@ pliskinius: haha, yeah I know I don't know a lot about WM
Laurentius26 ROMs get an excellent battery life. I get 2 days without deactivating anything. And everything works perfectly and smoothly. I have the 2.10.50.26 radio ROM and the Laurentius26 GoldEdition V2.0 Spikeā¢ WWE 21899. Can last up to 2.5 to 3 days by deactivating 3G. I download weather every 3 hours, tweets every 4 hours, e-mail every hour. Then I make phone calls about 15 minutes per day, sms 10 to 20, pictures about 10, surf with Opera about 30 minutes per day. Remember also to close all unused applications (for me the best task manager is the Touch X manager that is on Xperia X2, lets you choose between short click on the cross to minimize the app and long click on the cross to close the app).
Edit : It's now 15:50. Was 100 % yesterday evening by 22:00. Now it's 73 % left. But I only used my phone since that time to make a countdown for cooking at lunch time.
I'm currently in Japan, using phone on 3G, very little use, listen to some music daily (30 min) and play around an hour. I'm getting 3 days easily without a charge and could easiy stretch to 4 days.
Back in my country I disable 3G and use only 2g with auto updates on every 3 hours, no email push no twitter whatsoever, just weather updates. During the night the battery drains down by 15% and with normal usage I'd have to charge daily.
15% during the night with maybe 2 updates during the night and data connection disabling just after a few minutes shouldn't drain the battery by that much. Dunno, but I'm pointing my fingers towards 2g.
I'm no expert, actually I'm far from that, but could it be that 2g uses more power from the phone?
Without any usage at all, here in Japan, I hardly get a 10% battery drain in 24hrs compared to 15% during the night back in my country.
Maybe new comm chips Edge eats more than 3G as all the phones are now optimized for 3G, I wouldn't be surprised at all.
But one thing is sure : if you have bad 3G coverage or bad quality signal, it really drains your battery. Only way to avoid this : disable 3G and you phone will stop changing from Edge to 3G or HDPDA several times per minute.
I'm using WMLonglife, and I've set it to 3g only. Now I have no idea if here in Japan they have HSDPA or Edge or if the software is keeping the phone on 3g, but I haven't seen the phone changing from 3g even when the reception went down to 1 bar.
But i'm pretty impressed with the battery life at the moment. Pity i won't have the same battery life back home.
Hey guys, I've had the phone since Saturday and even though I've been through a few charge cycles my battery only lasts about 6-8 hours. Today I took the phone off the charger at 10:00 AM and it died on me at 5:45 PM. I only texted a few times and only did an hour or so of Slacker Radio. Seems a little low for what I'm doing with the phone.
I am on Kumar's classic 2.2 ROM with 2.11 radio.

A lot of things can drain the battery, 3g on in a no 3g area, weather updates, twitter , email updates ...
But If I was you I would try a diff radio ... I get a full day out of mine at this point a little more ...
I've tried 2.12 as well and the battery didn't improve.
Is your activesync checking as items come in? That's what drained mine terribly. Basically, it can be a ton of things that make your battery drain such as:
1. backlight
2. agps
3. certain programs
4. etc
You'd have to list a bunch of stuff on what you're doing to your phone
Can you turn activesync off? If so, how?
Also, any other tips to save battery life?

Definitely lower down the screen brightness to 20%, turn off Bluetooth and WiFi, don't let things like Twitter and your e-mail update so often.
Also using the internet/music/videos will drain quite a bit of power, especially if you use the internet while listening to music.
Yeah I mainly use internet radio while at work. Would using WiFi be easier on the battery than using 3G/H?

Yes, I've done it both ways and wifi most definitely draws less juice when streaming data than 3g (and when idle too, for that matter)
do you think it matters whether you install programs on your SD card or on the device?
i have CHT installed on the SD card and i can't make it 8 hrs on light usage.
I only have 3 apps installed so far, but it's on the device.
Also, is there a way to have the default wallpapers without animation? I'm sure that doesn't help the battery every time I unlock the phone either.

Yes. Try installing it on and running it from the phone instead, I'm sure you'll see at least a noticible difference.
Honestly, there's really not much of any reason to install apps on the SD card with this phone...there's more storage available than even most power users would ever come close to filling.
im in teh same boat. had it since march. on elegancia rom which people say is great for battery. on 2.12
now im in a bad service area in my basement often so i know sometimes thats the cause. but even at the gym 40 mins of internet radio dropped my battery almost 20 percent.
if i do nothing with the phone it usually drops 5 pct an hour 10 pct with moderate use but 20 easily if i do anything on the web over 3g or wifi. its awful
oh and i have lumos configured, i only have email connect every 2 hours and weather every 6. nothing else connects

Wow! your phone's battery usage sounds a little over the top. Might want to try using a different radio. 2.08 has given me the best signal/battery efficiency, but of course that varies from phone to phone.
Also, I bought a 2600 mAh battery so now I'm not afraid to use my phone. As long as you don't mind the extra bulk it adds to the back of the phone , I would suggest getting an extended battery to everyone complaining about how their battery dies too fast.
I will back up the statement that putting apps in main memory will save you battery ...
The less your phone has to access the SDcard the less power it uses.
A big thing is if you have any apps that run all the time that are on the SDcard , not only does it drain battery but will degrade the performance of the SDcard .
Anyone else have any ideas?
talked to tmo on webchat last night got em to send me a new battery
so if nothin helps at least il have two
I'm trying that method right now, we'll see what happens.
