Has anyone acctually got one of these? i have been searching for hours! basicaly ive flashed my phone with a Hero ROM but im not happy with the performance so i just want to revert back (i was too stupid i only got my phone for little over 35 hours and i didnt make a nandroid ) im just looking for a original, stock, out of the factory (or however you wanna name it) ROM. Please if anyone has it help out id be very grateful , i just want the firmware dont need the data
This is not a development related question. Moved.
And, why wouldn't you try another non-hero based ROM? It would run faster than even the stock ROM.
Youre absolutely right. I also just replaced the original rom with Qteck but it really crashes alot. And the speed darn it, its soooo slow.
Does somebody have a the orginal rom so we could fix this problem.
Well i take back what i said, Cyanogenmod is the ANSWER to Android phones. Its Fast, stable, with his update manager easly updated.
So IFlip92 i would advise you to try Cyanogenmod all other mods are just junk.
This doesnt help if you have to return the phone though, ?When i get mine back after paying for a repair becaus i had cyanogen rom on it i will upload the original rom as soon as it is turned on

Thinking of putting Hero Rom on my Magic from voda, would you suggest one please also does the on you have work perfectly as tho it was a Hero which you are using with the multi touch on internet browsing
Cheers James
Yeah, I too have updated my original magic rom to the hero. It looks great but runs like a dog, the lag is unbearable! Is there any way of getting the phone back to the way it was when i took it of the box?
I would love to get my magic back!!!

Your Magic with Hero rom shouls be running perfectly. I had the same feelings as you. What I did do wrong was not formatting and partitioning sdcard correctly.Once that sorted ,reflashed with Modaco's full version, everything is fine.
Other suggestion is to have a go at Enothers rom (t-mob) which is 100% perfect.
Hey everyone.. If someone can help me with this i wld really appreciate it.. I have a MT3G 32B n i have the Manups 2.1 ROM installed on MT3G.. It runs smooth sometimes.. In other words i get a few FOrse Closes sometimes which kinda sucks that and my keyboard always gets a force close as well n sometimes the Keyboard just wont work n i wold have to turn off the phone n turn it back on.. But the main problem i have with it is sometimes ill be using a program and all of the sudden my phone freezes then it will shut off n restart itself which kinda sucks n gets annoying sometimes.. Ok Ok it gets annoying alot lol.. i really like the Manups ROM but that makes me frustrated when it freezes then restarts itself.. Is there a way to fix this so i dont get so many force closes n my phone to restart it self on its own.. Please help..
MT3G 32B
Radio: 2.22.19.26I
SPL: 1.33.2005
Recovery: RA-v1.6.2 (File name was: recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.6.2G.img)
ROM: ManUps 2.1 ROM
Just incase you needed the info on the phone..
I would try starting from scratch; wipe, and reflash the ROM. Yeah, it's a pain in the a** to reinstall all of your apps, but it sounds like it's frustrating to use.

I'd just try another rom, I think manups is old now so give a new one a try!
Yep, I took a look at the thread. It's abanadoned and you you can't really expect a stable 2.1 rom yet
I would try Cannons if anything
I'd just stick to a 1.6 though, completely stable lol

Just a heads up, since you have root access, you can download for free, "Backup for Root Users" from the market, its great, can select all sorts of things to backup but the best is "Apk's" which is your apps, so this way when your like me and prolly 99% of everyone else you can just open your File manager and open the "Backup" folder and install from there, instead of searching one by one from market, and waiting for it to download and then install...

Hey folks!
Just want to say thanks to everyone who put up some of the great FAQs and guides on here.
I'm successfully running Android on my HTC HD2 (TMOUS) w/ 1024Flash.
However, I am in need of some guidance.
I'm using the HD2Froyo_v2.1 build.
I have also successfully installed HardSPL.
I made a test call, and the person on the other end sounded like a tiny robot.
I read about this in the forum guides, but I'm not sure what exactly I should do.
Can anyone offer some advice/guidance?
I believe I need to install a custom Radio, but I'm not sure which one.
Also, are there any other issues I should expect or anticipate?
Will I be okay to continue using the Android OS from now on if I like it?
Thanks!!
Try changing your WM. For my I'm using

Also if you want a different Android try

I am running the same combi and i am really happy!
I have tried like so many combinations....BTW, do you know how to show
the correct battery level on the vbn reloaded winmo rom ? Due to its low
current draw, i would like to run it as main OS

Okay, so if I install that first one you gave me, I shouldn't have any call issues?
The build of Android I'm using seems to be running great, except for calls.
So here are my questions:
I need to install this VBNROM, correct?
Does this affect the Radio? My Android was running fine, but wasn't processing calls.
Will this VBNROM take care of this issue?
Also, how do I get back to Android after a reboot.
I'm currently back in Windows Mobile, but don't know how to get back to my Android install.
Thanks for the help, guys!

I'll try that first.
Any recommendations?
Try changing your radio. Search this as I am not allowed to post threads:
HTC HD2 Radio ROM Thread
Im pretty sure that you shouldn't flash to a .51 radio (grab the .50 ones) as they brick your TMOUS HD2.
If that doesn't fix the issue then you have to change your WM rom. Try Chucky's rom I found that got rid of the robot voice for me.
Post up if you have any questions.

If you can email me the link, my email is kms311 AT hotmail DOT com
I want to make sure I have the right thread.
try the 2.12.50.02_2, I am using that and it works perfect.
Also try putting music on your phone if you notice that it is playing faster than normal then change your WM rom.
Also, can someone tell me how to get back into Android?
I'm back in WinMobile, and I ran haret again. But now it just reboots to WinMobile each time.
Once android is loaded you won't have to do anything except get some cool new apps like angry birds (which is free and AWESOME). Also to boot up android, open the CRLCAD.exe then Haret.exe then it should boot. Not sure if i spelt it correctly but i hope you understand what i meant.
As I said before changing you WM rom may also help the robot voice. I would recommend Chucky's rom as it has a bootloader, so when WM loads there will be a black and white robot you press and it will boot up Android, better then opening both exe files.
To flash a radio go to the forum i sent you, then go to the installing section
to install as said you need HardSPL, and then download the radio rar file, and also download the CustomRUU file. After they have finished downloading Rename and extract the radio rar file make sure the name says: RUU_Signed.nbh and then open up the CustomRUU.exe and it should load it on to your HD2.
Here is what they wrote:
Installing:
For installing a RADIO ROM you need HardSPL installed to your device.
Rename the extracted file to "RUU_Signed.nbh" and flash with the CustomRUU: it won't hardreset your device.
Okay. I think I follow.
So I'll load a Custom ROM, like Chucky's, using CustomRUU and renaming the file.
Then I'll load the 2.12.50.02.2 Radio, and I should be set.
Have I got that right?
Try flashing a radio first and see if it works. If you still have robo-voice which i doubt then you can load Chucky's Rom.

i would take the suggestion from the first reply by blacksxe, which is the VBNRom.. and install the radio recommendation version that was posted at the VBNRom page as well (2.15)... also, expect that you will boot to winmo each and everytime that you restart your phone.. as of now, there is no nand support that's available for users.. only the devs has it and it's still under development.. so just use the EBL program that's included on the VBNRom and set it to autoboot (6 seconds or even 10).. that way you won't have to run haret manually each and everytime you restart..
i had the perfect sd build for my hd2 that i deleted (like an idiot) and want back. im almost positive its mdeejay and it had the droid x background and startup sound. it said HTCHD2 in red on the unlock screen (as opposed to where the evo series revolution builds said HTCEVO)
does anyone know which version this is/ where i can download it?
Mdj not on xda anymore so you will be very lucky, all his threads were removed I'm gutted as I'm on his 2.6 cyan and there's no more updates coming
all of MDJs threads have been removed for lack of GPL compliance
theres many bettor updated roms here on XDA
maybe this one? http://www.jayceooi.com/2010/08/12/how-to-install-android-2-2-froyo-on-htc-hd2/
it's a rom by mdj. u can always try and use the great search engine google.
i definitely did Google it, i wouldn't come here and waste anyones time without doing that first. i found that blog that you linked but it doesnt say anything about the theme and the little nuances i described, so i didnt know. but i will try it out right now and let you guys know. its too bad hes not on here anymore, that build i had was perfect. it ran flawless, was super fast, and the aesthetic of it was perfect for the phone.
also, "better" is subjective. i don't know but every other ROM i have tried has been glitchy somehow sans 1 other one and the theme was plain. all i want is the os to tell me im using an HD2 not an evo or anything else like that. it doesn't need to be the droid x theme but that was pretty cool.
also if it helps, i tried froyo revolution v1.5 and it said [email protected] on the unlock screen but the [email protected] was green and in the one i was using it was red. and if you guys took all his stuff off of here do you know where i can go (like a different forum etc) that still has his builds?
try this rom so far it's awesome ,works great ,smooth and fast.
BOYPPC-SHIFTPDA GINGER 2.3.3 RAM_V5 so far i didn't get any bugs and it looks awesome.
i tried the first one and it is not mdeejay. it worked but was buggy and not what i was looking for
i dont know how to install the second one, i looked at the directions but its really confusing. plus when i tried to install magldr it wont let me, it goes to bootloader then says error 262 update issue. it doesn't do anything to my phone, it boots back just fine. i have spl 3.03.hspl installed already too
edit: i read up on the gingerbread v5 build, and people are reporting bugs and bad battery life. i just want my simple froyo back. it was nice looking, fast, and functional. when/ why did mdeejay leave here? did you guys run him off or something?
ah, i found a search i did "android 2.2.1 build number 2.10.405.2 cl226611" i know thats the build number for it because i was searching for a nand for it when i still had it but i cant find anything with this build
magldr doesn't work with hspl spl 3 and 4,u need 2.08. and u run the magldr from ROMUpdateUtility.exe so it will work otherwise u get an error.
the first one works great for me maybe cause I flashed it with magldr i guess it works better like that then on sd.
another mdj room kinda new I will check that out later.
http://www.xpockets.net/android/mdjs-cyanogenmod-7-v-2-6-android-nand-rom/
and u can try this out too.TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 RC2 v2.6.2 [2.3.3][A2SD][tytung r7]

i cant get HSPL 3 off the phone, i tried running HSPL4 to downgrade but it won't connect to the phone. its amazing i even got my stock rom back on here. i tried 15 times to connect it, once it got 1% then a bunch of nothings then 8%, more nothings, and it finally went. its so freakin touchy and idk why
i even ran task 29 to get everything off but 3.03.HSPL was still there
that's weird.. u tried to flash it with a stock winmo rom? u tried to manually enter tri-colour screen and then flash it?
yeah i flashed it with HSLP first, then i tried to do magldr to put nand version of android on but it failed and i thought i bricked it. then i fixed it by going into bootloader (tri color screen) and trying over and over and over and finally getting task 29 to flash it and then after many many tries i got the stock rom on. now im just trying to find an sd rom so i dont have to mess with that BS any more
You can always try a new one .. there are plenty out there ... may be better thn what u r lookin for
yeah ive been searching around, and have tried 6 others. i like the one im currently running but the overall aesthetic of it isnt up to par and a lot of times when the screen goes to sleep the phone wont let it wake up and i have to pull the battery, so i dont use it very much. im basically only using winmo 6.5
i dont want to depend on a buggy ROM, but it appears all of them are atleast a little buggy. hopefully i'll be getting an Inspire soon and won't have to worry about all this
Too many things are not working. And the phone is super slow.
How do I restore a HD2 with android installed back to Windows Mobile stock version? Can you please point me to Wiki, I am looking but I cannot find it.
Thanks,
Download your stock ROM and flash it via SD card - this way, everything will be back to factory status.
Just check the stickies in the WinMo thread, you´ll quickly find what you need.
If this is done will HTC know it has been using Android NAND? So could a phone be sent for repair if this is done?

Well first of all which Android rom did you use?
Did you try others?
Did you read the roms thread for tweaks/fixes?
Some roms can make your device run faster and better then Windows Mobile, You have obviously not tried variosu roms and just gave up after 5 minutes.
You should take your time and try some of the lighter Android roms like NexusHD2 or maybe a CM7 based rom. What you ahve probably tried is a full on DHD sense rom which (at first) will be laggy until OS has had time to settle down and also a few reboots.
I have been using Android since I had my HD1 and more or less since day1 on my HD2, Ive used many roms (thats teh fun part) and have not had a problem overall of slow or too many things not working, It all depends on the rom you use and if you tweak/fix or not.
