Hello everybody,
My child has ruined the phone's cover and it looks very old full of scratches, and it's too late to install some protective case over it, can you please guide me to some links where to find a replacement for the entire body cover? is it even replaceable anyway?
Thanks a lot!

Hi. This is for the Touch Pro, but is the only place I know that sell parts. You can see the full case replacement as the battery cover only.

Hi All
My plastic cover on my beloved HD has become shattered, I have peeled it off and can see that it looks like it could possibly be replaced, but it is hanging on with a ribbon cable.
The LCD part of the screen is absolutely fine, THANK GOD
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP
Has anyone replaced this ? do you know where to get a new one ?
Thanks all
Steve
is this what you are looking for?

I found it on ebay. its a full housing cover for the hd
I don't think that's what he means. But you can't see a front picture of it if it includes the plastic layer, damn photos!
No
But that would do it though , its just the plastic screen on the front of the phone, not the actual LED, but yes, that would do it.
Thanks
Any other ideas ?
Thanks

The front of the phone/plastic part is the digitizer or touch area. You can buy it but haven't seen it.
http://cnn.cn/shop/touch-lcddigitizer-unit-p-4295.html
They sell the lcd screen and de digitizer. the lcd screen is NOT the touch sensitive part, the front(plastic) part is. So this could become very pricy.
YES, that is what I need, thank you .....
Steve
Brilliant , I have found a place to send it to in Harrow , they are going to repair it for £50 inc P+P
Not bad eh !

Hi there,
unfortunately I dropped my Toch HD last weekend on rough ground, the housing ist completely scratched at the corners and looks awful. The lucky part is that technically it still works perfectly and the display/screen is not damaged.
So, I'd like to replace the housing and I've already found some replacement parts on the net (e.g. here for USD 80... i know, quite expensive but for me it's worth it, cheaper offers always welcome though).
The real problem is that I couldn't find any instructions to do it and no hints whether any special tools are necessary. The forum search only delivered rare information. With a proper instruction I would dare to do it myself, but without I'm afraid to damage the device.
So has anybody got a detailed instruction or experience changing the housing?
would be grat,
thanks in advance,
regards jan
Isn't this what you are looking for?

And congratulations for not damaging the screen, because this is what happened to me (see the attachment), and amazingly everything works .
Thank You, exactly what I was looking for...
...however, it looks much more complicated than I expected... have to toke some time to analyze the instruction for which steps are necessary for changing the casing only without complete disassembly... not sure yet if I should dare it...
but, anyway, thank you again!
regards jan
P.S.1: has anybody tried it yet and have some experience to share?
P.S.2: I'm not sure about the "plastic stick" shown in the disassembly part... whether it's really just a flat and bit flexible plastic stick or if itr has any special tip...
try, it's easy
I did it on a P3600 and it was not so difficult, just take your time (at least one hour).
Read everything carrefully before starting, prepare tools and clean your hands
I also dropped my touch hd and dented the front bezel. I have bought a complete replacement housing and tools required for only £25 on ebay.
I have read the service manual and it doesn't deal with removing the lcd screen from the bezel. I read somewhere that it is a complete unit and you can't detach it easily
The new case is still in its box until I can find more out. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Yup it isn't as easy as it looks. The manual lacks details as it only tells you how and where but did not elaborate more on minor yet important details.
I bought an antenna cover from ebay to replace, and boy, removing the cover was not easy at all. I used to take apart my other phones all the time and HD is the most difficult one I've done. I ended up breaking the small plastic sockets (that clicks the cover firmly into place) of the original cover. Luckily I have a new one to fit back in. Originally I wanted to replace the whole housing myself but I stopped after the antenna cover until I get a video of how its done.
So anyone? Kindly? Any videos please? XD
still no videos out there?
not looking good for us as i still can't find any video tutorials out there so im assuming that its super hard to do
please can anyone assist?

lol i chickened out eventually. and im still using my not-so-perfect housing as im reluctant to change it myself while being too stingy to pay a pro to do it.
Hi,
maybe some of you can give me some tips.
I would like to exchange the housing (due to cracks everywhere). I also got a replacement housing.
I just tried to open the housing. I was able to detach the back cover, but was not able to remove the front cover as the screen seems to be fixed to the "touch screen" part of the front cover.
Can some body help me finding instructions how to change the cover of the device?
Thanks a lot.
Dirk
sorry i have no experience, but this will help you to take it apart. good luck

haha, well be careful. one bad move and its time for a new phone/case
glad i could help someone out on a forum that helps me so much =]
Hi everyone,, wondering if some one could provide me with some assistance. I bought a full replacement housing for my sony x10 as the phone got a huge gash in the side which was really insightly so the best thing was to replace the entire housing.
Quick question, the digitizer. It seems like its completely glued on to the housing? do i need to replace the digitizer if im replacing the housing as well? do i need to use glue and redo it? not sure if i take it off can it break easily... any information would be greatly appreciated.
Simply check my Disassembly Guide.
You'll find it in my Sig.
There is everything described.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask them over there.

Hi,
My mini's glass panel (digitizer) cracked. The HTC Customer Care is charging too much for it so I thought of replacing it myself. The problem is I googled and can't find any DIY instuctions. Does anyone know how to replace it?
Has anyone has bought the digitizer from ebay?... please share your experience ... how do you find it compared to the original?
Thanks!

attention is glued!
ciao
I did this yesterday. Pretty easy if you're patient.
Just remember to not remove the black adhesive round the edge.
And don't touch the LCD... Use gloves!
