MP3 HTC Player Sound Quality ..... - HD2 General

I bet some of HTC HD2 owners have been trying to improve the dedicated music player with the audio booster app.
Audio booster in my opinion provides a better sound quality overall when switched "ON" and for some picky sound gurus is still not good enough to satisfy.
The recommended option over the htc hd2 forums is to use SRS WOW app for htc but still I think there is a distortion in order to get the better bass,treble,3D sound and music stage level.
I have flashed my t-mobile phone has been flashed about 30 times and most was because in between the all good and stable roms there was a sound quality after has been eq-ed by the booster.
Here what I found out and I don't have a technical explanation since I don't cook and roms.
I install the rom X and then advanced conf utility and then I do audio booster but an old version and restart.
Audio booster older is a bit hard to adjust on HD2 but once you do it you suddenly realizing the music quality is better in terms of bass, treble and stage.
How come? I always ask myself and the closest answer i get is the different driver in the Win MO 6.5 system.
If anybody has any thoughts and willing to share I'll be happy to listen.
I have to tell you guys even on a very low volume the bass is vibrating and your ears shaking. I have my UE Pro 10 professional musician phones sound amazing like there is an additional amplifier for boosting the eq settings.
This is the audio booster.cab I'm using making a big difference:
Htc_Audio Booster-VGA-OldMod
My adv. config has audio booster settings changed to very high on treble, bass and 3D.
Give me your thoughts and advise what is the reason I get a better sound with an older HTC audio booster app.

Get SRS WOW app. You can tweak all of the auso settings.

Understood and many thanks for all your advices guys!
Question:
I tried a few different versions of SRS including the latest one to my knowledge 2.3 and I noticed the balance moves to the left.
Anybody has the same problem?
The sound is great and 3D takes great effect.
Any thoughts?

Audio problem with built in fm radio

Hi, Trying again in this forum as no answers in Themes and software one.
Audio booster works well with music player - really makes a difference.
But sometimes I like to listen to the built in FM radio - It's great for commuting. The problem is the sound is quite low and the Audio booster makes no difference to it. I tried SRS WOW HD but that produced no sound untill i tweaked the registry - then I got sound but no ability to enable SRS.
I know this is fairly low on peoples priority list but please, if anyone has any ideas, I'd be really gratefull
have u installed HD tweak, it has options to increase sound level and improve radio reception.
Thanks Zesper,
Yeah - tried that but no joy playing thru ear phones - it's still pretty quiet

To be honest, it doesn't make much sense as the System volume controls both music and radio and if I turn the radio up fully on mine, it'll probably burst my eardrums it's that loud.
Perhaps you have a hardware problem, but you could try a hard reset just to be sure it's not the software configured incorrectly somewhere. Try the radio out before installing anything else.
I too find the radio volume to be too low. No such problem with music player.
I have the same problem. Audio Booster don't work with FM Radio.
Probably something wrong with Dutty's V3.3 XT ROM, in my previous ROM there was not those problems.

I got this file from a Russian website. It worked very well on my Xperia. You'll probably have to turn down the system volumes a fair bit though.

Htc hd2 - how to improve audio quality

I spent hours trawling the net to try and find a plugin or a way to improve the audio quality when using Audio Manager. At last, found it. SRS WOW HD v1.5.1.0 to v2.1. Both bass and treble are improved big time and it runs in the background with no probs. You can still use audio booster too!! My new headphones sound even better now. Give it a go and let me know wot ya think?

Power Amp question - Getting the most out of the audio

Helllo everyone,
I have read about supercurio's audio analysis and how the audio chip in the GS2 might not be as great as the original GS but I have a GS2 so...I am trying to get the most out of the audio that is in there using headphones and my car stereo through auxialiary input.
I currently have both power amp and dsp manager installed and was wondering if dsp manager was necessary since power amp has a built in equalizer. I was also wondering if anyone had a nice equalizer setting that works well with the GS2 for most type of music
thanks!

So then you recommand using only audiobooster and disregard poweramp's equalizer and dspmanager?
Does anyone still have some good equalizer settings? I am currently using the Rock preset on poweramp and am liking the difference between it and flat but I don't know if I could do better.
thanks
bump,
no audiophiles here have a nice audio setup to use with headphones or through aux?

I'm far from an audiophile..
I could test mine with my Sennheiser HD 555s when I get the phone next week but thats not really what you'd want. They're not really something you'd use with a mobile phone.
mainly looking for someone who has experience with the phone and with equalizers to try and bring out of the strength of the phone and maybe hide the weaknesses if at all possible.
Someone recommended Volume+, would you only use that or use it with something else

I grabbed hold of volume+ after reading about it here. As Voodoo sound doesn't work, I'm using it to boost the base volume of the headset only. If I want to fiddle with the EQ, I have PowerAmp for listening so will use that. To be honest, these two in combination seem to work pretty well for me with fairly cheap headphones so I'm happy.
PowerAmp's EQ is the best, no question. Don't use any additional resident EQ's, they are very low quality compared to PowerAmp's one. After tweaking the poweramp EQ some, I'm getting a pretty good result with my etymotic HF2's.
can you post the equalizer setting you are using? Just to give me an idea
thanks
Poweramp working well. Is it much improved by also using external equalizer app?
poweramp works fine and its amplifier too is ok
however this wont fix the audio output of the sgs2
plug any decent headset (maybe not the bundled one) in the sgs2 then the sgs1 or an iphone and you can easily hear the difference even if youre not an audiophile or smth like that
personally this will make me jump to the next nexus or sgs, granted that their audio output is better, as soon as they're released
its not that the sgs2 output is horrible but its far from the leaders in that area
I'm using the settings described here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1122361
They work rather well for me. Sometimes the output isn't loud enough though, so I've been playing with some of the equalizer and volume+ settings. I can jack the volume up a ton with those two, but I definitely lose some quality here and there and see a bunch of volume+ force closes so still working out the kinks there. Other than that, very satisfied with the audio quality on the SGSII with Poweramp.
+1 to these settings
im using the phone as my primary source for audio in the car, using poweramp and i find that the settings described in that post work quite well
the only thing to note is im not sure if the EQ settings work as it says that only the paid version can use custom settings but it seems to do something at least

What Dolby Mobile REALLY does!

Hey guys! I've found out what Dolby Mobile is really good at doing. So basically I have a Logitech X540 5.1 Surroud Sound System. As you may know, any 5.1 Surround System usually has 3 wires for input:
1)For Front Left and Right Speakers
2)For Center Speaker/Subwoofer
3)For Rear Left and Right Speakers
Of course, you can use the main (green) wire for Left and Right sound. Many Surround Sound Systems feature what is known as "Matrix Mode", where you press a button and the incoming audio from a device that has only Stereo Audio (Which in our is the Desire HD) is converted into 5.1 Channel Sound! But as those of you who've tried may know, it's not that great ¬_¬
Anyways, I don't really use my computer for JUST playing music, as it heats the whole room up in under 15 minutes
So I plug my Desire HD into my Surround Sound Sytem for music since it's a GOOD music player!
So anyways, when you use headphones, and select Dolby, the sound seems a little too "Seperated" and "Wide" and Bassy right? That's what they include SRS for, listening to music through headphones. Now, what is Dolby Mobile for, you may ask? Simple! When you use Matrix mode, it converts 2 Channel Sound so that audio is output through ALL speakers. Generally speaking, it works OK...
Try this! Plug in your Desire HD, don't put on Dolby Mobile just yet and select Matrix Mode on your sound system, or a similar feature. Listen to how it sounds. Now, try the same with SRS! Sounds better, but more bass. Now, try Dolby Mobile! Sound comes through all 5 speakers LOUD and CRYSTAL CLEAR. What Dolby Mobile does is it encodes music as it is playing so that it can be recieved by a Surround System with Matrix, and thus spreads the sound out, so different instruments etc go to different speakers. Creates a really nice Surround Sound System audio from "just" a mobile phone! Try it out, and tell me guys if you notice the difference as much as I did! Oh, and turn the bass and volume up a bit while you're at it
Will definitely try it out... Thats a Plus
Speakers
Wow! I bet that took a while to figure out.
I'll definitely try it out.
This just got me wondering.... if HTC did such a good job at at making the music app on the DHD so good , why.... Seriously why did they did they fall so miserably short of including decent speakers on the phone itself? Even the earphones included in the box can be used better as a shoelace.
This sounds interesting.. So you say that i will need to change some settings on my reciever also?
I bought DHD mainly for this reason when it was released. I have dolby in all my pcs, laptops and now in mobile. And for this reason am still neglecting in switching over to sense 3 ROM.
Or you could go to the Dolby website and actually read the data sheets about dolby mobile.

The speakers aren't really that bad, it's just the defaults that HTC have set the output to that's crap. Look for a thread in the General section called 'actually make your speaker sound good', it shows you how to manually tweak the DSP settings. I found after playing around with it for a while, I could actually get my DHD sounding quite meaty.
How do you connect your DHD to your speakers?
I have gigaworks and would love to see how my DHD sounded on these.
Cheers.

Connect the audio input wire that goes into your pc, to your Desire HD's headphone jack instead

You may have to, or you might not. For my speakers I had to enable Matrix Mode. I'm certain all the good sound systems have that facility, or a feature similar to that.
Found out how to make the sound from your sound systems sound even better! Download PowerAmp, and select the Dolby Mobile option within Poweramp. Also you can change the equalizer and other settings so you can fine tune the sound

Sound Quality

i know this issue has been discussed for a while,
but is there any update?
sound quality is bad, and low.
is there some mod to overcome this issue?
success stories?
A favorite of mine is Volume+ (Sound Boost).
It is Gingerbread only and really does improve the audio.
Try the free version first here but the full version does have a lot more to offer.
Full Version includes:
* +8 in all settings (Free goes to +4)
* 9 EQ presets (Free has 1)
* Advanced Settings - gives you complete EQ control: you can control each EQ band independently. (NOT INCLUDED IN FREE VERSION)
Only had my GS2 for 3 days, but I love the sound quality, especially in the headphones with my custom EQ settings. Voice calls are loud enough as well.
I never have any problems with sound quality but this thread made it even better.

Would you care to broaden your opinion on the HS3000, I am interested in purchasing a set of these myself.
Sound would seem to have improved on KI3.
