Guys,
I need the official HTC hero 2.73.720.5 RUU. Its an Indian version. My hero shipped with this rom.
My hero lately not responding to touches; the bottom part where we have the Menu dialer and add symbol does not respond to touches and all other part of the screen works. Have tried various roms but nothing happens.
Need the official rom so that i can give back my mobile to HTC for repairing.

digitizer surely malfunction. You need to replace it. I did change it by myself before. If you cannot find that rom version then flash them with other official rom and pass back to your carrier. Usually carrier will send the phone to authorized repair agent to fix. They only require proof of purchase which match serial number or IMEI number of the phone.

yeah i am basically from India but currently living in China & i bought Hero from China ..
Instant.apk file didn't work for me to root it .. so i install Titanium back up & i show option (problems) i click on that & it download busybox for me ... & i was able to install any root apps from the market ..
later i flash brother Amon_RA Recovery using old flashrec-1.1.2.apk because new flashrec didn't work for me .. emm Hope that helps ..

If this is a UK T-Mob HD, then its a contract phone and seems strange that it is up for sale so soon. Unless it has been stolen - I don't think we should help with stolen phones, unless you're willing to gvie me the IMEI number so I can check here with T-Mob.

Im not exactly sure if you want help making your internet work with your sim, or if you want help taking the tmobile rom off and putting a stock or custom one on..
If you just want help with internet settings then download the attached file and install on your phone. Then run the connection setup program in the start menu, connections screen and it should set up your internet and mms settings for the network you select (if its available).
If you want to put a custom rom on your device then follow my flashing a leo rom for noobs link in my signature to install HardSPL and then you can flash any of the roms in the rom development section to take off the tmobile branding and give you whatever you want.

What network are you trying to use it with?
I'm not too sure if you can change the connection settings easy on the T-Mobile ROM, I'd recommend flashing with the HTC unbranded ROM and then you can just select your service provider and it all works sweet.

I work for T-mobile and the only way you can change these settings is indeed to change to HTC unbranded ROM or any other ROM of your choice.
i did everything and im succesful to install a new rom....but inresult of trying many rom's ,one of rom has given me a trouble...when im turning my phone a screen comes which says "STICK TOGETHER","NOT FOR SALE"....WHY IS THIS COMING...ANY IDEA TO GET RID OF THIS?

You must have flashed one of the TMobile Test Roms during your travels, which has that splash screen on it. Custom Roms dont include a splash screen so it wont be overwritten when flashing other roms afterwards.
Download the attachment and unzip to a folder on your pc. Sync using your usb cable and run the included customruu.exe file to flash back the original htc splash screen.

Hello there i have 1 more thing that i was jailbreaking my HTc g1 and got successfully back to old os but my problem is that i can't skip sign-in process ... i live in Pakistan and its from Uk....so cant use t-mobile network here ... can i jailbreak ...i hav wifi access but can not enable it from G1 .. plz help me ... is there is any way to get jailbreak offline ?? or i have to unroot it??? plzzzzzzz ppls help needed badly..

I would use the latest OpenEclair or KingKlick AOSP 2.1 v1.9 but if I was you I would stick to android 1.6 and use the latest Super D ROM. But if you want to use OpenEclair or the AOSP 2.1 ROM you need to have the DANGER SPL.
Here are some tips to help you on XDA:
1) When you "hack" an android device it is called ROOTING not JAILBREAKING.
2) Use proper english with at least decent grammar.

Sorry Jamb, xda can be a bit of an asshole. Here is a good guide on bypassing the google sign in. Like the other guy said, OE and King's v1.9 are good for 2.1 roms, but don't have the speed of 1.6 roms, and they are missing some things (camcorder, etc).
@UberMario ..... sorry for my english...i have jailbreaked many iphones so everytime my mind says rooting and my finger types jailbreaking.sorry again...well i was now able to bypass the google sign screen now the 1 thing remains that i m not able to ROOT it like i got the telnet and its says connection error and also at another site a dude ....theunlockr mention another rooting process but i m not able to compelete it ..how can i root it any other way??

If your phone was branded when you got it, you should look for an RUU from your carriers homepage, else try look at HTC.com under support -> Hero -> Downloads
Try looking in the SGSII forum, there should be some good stuff there

to get back to the original ROM download one of the RUU.exe files from one of the sites (see post #3). Once downloaded run the .exe file (if you are on linux you obviously wont be able to run .exe but i have seen somewhere a thread which describes how to run RUU file on linux you would have to find that). Follow the on screen instructions and you will have the original ROM back
p.s. if you have an unbranded hero you want the file 'RUU_Hero_HTC_WWE_3.32.405.1_R_Radio_63.18.55.06P_6.35.15.11_release_signed.exe' from http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Hero. otherwise choose the file according to your carrier

ok, so I downloaded it,, I connected the phone to the PC via USB and ran the programe.
The message comes up after a while saying the Update Utility cannot connect to the phone... Asks me to check it is connected...
Any ideas anyone ????

Where you running a sense rom and you can try running the ruu file in bootloader and powering on the phone while hold power and back

Seeing as my last thread got closed because I asked about writing MY OWN IMEI back to my phone manually (which apparently is illegal... not sure why...) I decided to ask a couple of different questions instead:
1: Will installing a custom ROM fix my IMEI?
2: Can I install a custom ROM on my I9300 which is currently locked to Three
3: Why is it illegal to write MY OWN IMEI (found behind my battery) back to my device that is corrupted?

3. In many countries changing IMEI is illegal. That can only be done only by official services. Even restoring ur own imei can in that fact is illegal cuz u r not allowed serbice. Second thing even if u tell "I want to do it for myself only" that not mean its 100 % sure. Even if u tellthe true, some other ppl can lock at our instructions and do this illegal. I think that is the reason why u've got closed the old topic.

I have spent three days searching forum after forum after forum, trying all these different "fixes" that only seem to work on versions of the S3 that I don't have. All the fixes seem to be for Qualcomm models etc and mine is UK.

1 - flashed stock unbranded 4.3 rom which changed efs to v2, then reverted back to different variations of 4.04 and 4.1.2 trying to cure the "Not Registered On Network" issue I was having. This has seemingly damaged my efs folder which I did not back up (as I didn't even know about this folder)
2 - My I9300 is currently sim-locked to accept only sim cards from the Three UK network

1. When u updated rom to 4.3 ur /EFS files got changed to v2. If u didnt made backup of thats files u cant downgrade low than 4.3
Keep 4.3 with MK6 ota update and IMEI will be fine.
2. Simlock is not same as brand of firmware. U can use any brand or unbranded rom. Branded rom=bloatware from operator, most of them useless, if want to uninstall it u need root cuz those app are preinstaled with rom in ur system. If u want warranty, use branded soft from ur operator. If want smooth and good system w/o trashes use unbranded soft.

I am not sure that's completely correct.
My understanding is that EFS changed to v2 from July 2013 XXEMG* onwards. "This means if you have flashed an official ROM (or custom ROM based on official) from July 2013 (MG* or newer), you are now in a situation whereby only an EFS v2 baseband (MG* or newer) can read the IMEI in /EFS." This therefore also includes the latest versions of 4.2.1.

tried most of them.either its u.s android which is a mess or I get English uk and some the wifi wont work or some the mobile data wont work(wont recognise that a sim is inserted).my phones a mess,got a rom on now and it all works ok except on 2g network......can anyone help or suggest a fix....thankyou

You may tray use any modified rom if you can't find the official from HTC or Vodafone. I didn't find any rom for Vodafone mate.
Try to use the bad boys rom and try all radio.img of the official ruu files posted above.

I can't get the bad boys to load.how do I change the radio because that's all that's wrong with my build
Flash the radio over fastboot.
If you don't know how or why do that take a time and read a lot before proceed because you may kill your phone.

I have not tried this yet but if your phone model is exactly the same as your brother, may be should install TWRP on your phone and your brother's phone, do a TWRP backup of your brother's phone and restore that TWRP backup in your own phone. I think this is a long and risky process. May be someone in this forum with more experience can provide the exact or accurate procedure.

If you phone its S-OFF you can change CID and MEID and install any ruu from HTC Evo or HTC Bolt.
There is a topic on how to install twrp under developer.
