Htc hd2 t8585 hspl2? - HD2 General

Hello, i have HTC HD2 T8585 t-mobile running on ROM 1.43.110.0. Is this version also called LEO and can i load HSPL2 on it?
Also, can i load European WWE 1.66 ROM on it after HSPL2?
Pls, help i am a complete newbie...thanks

This is area is for the TMOUSA version HSPL2 was designed for that version. You have a European HD2 (T-mobile ROM is either 2.10 or 2.13 stock) so check with the other forum with the correct software that is compatible with your phone

I think you are wrong...i checked out a site that says a person who has currently installed 'stock' ROM is v1.43 and he is advised to install hspl and then 1.66 ROM

I concur, you have a Euro hd2. To be sure go to settings--about phone, and look for "Flash Size". If it says 512mb, it is a Euro hd2. US hd2's have 1024mb of flash. Either way, if it is a US hd2 and you flash a Euro rom you will brick it.

The T-Mobile USA uses 2.10/2.13. This section of the forum is for the T-Mo USA HD2 users. You will get better answers in the original HD2 section, as that is your device. This section is T-Mobile USA.

You're better off going to the orignal HD2 forum and not the T-mobile one to ask about how to get HSPL onto it as we use a different HSPL program.

Try this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=609477
I don't know if it will help, but it seems like a good place to start.
You can find specific info for your device here:

Good Luck.

just for clarity the confusion arose because of this incorrect statement.

HSPL2 WAS designed for the euro leo, HSPL2_1024 is the tmous version.

Thanks Sam I was wrong on the HSPL2 naming. I usually don't venture into the European forums for fear of grabbing a ROM from there and messing up my phone. So i forgot that the TMOUS version of HSPL2 is HSPL2_1024

hd2 and tmobile hd2?

maybe i am an idiot but what is the difference hd2 and tmobile hd2? Just wondering why there are separate forums.
flash a rom NOT based on 2.1 - tmo us hd2 won't boot
flash a radio with 51 in the version - bricks the tmo us hd2

Really??? even when hardspl'd or with sspl, cid/sec unlocked? thanks though I couldnt figure out the difference..
The size, MT HD2 is slightly toller. So if you buy the case for euro/asia version, it won't fit

yep. have a look for the "really bricked?" threads.
bad rom can be re flashedas you would expect, bad radio - phone won't even go into bootloader.
its to do with the tmous having the full 576 ram un hidden, is our best guess.

HSPL3 released

May i point to HSPL3 - all hd2 supported, works with spl 2.10.0000

Sweet!
So if we already have HSPL on our HD2, would there be any benefit in loading the new one?

nah, not really. its gonna give you the same 2.08.hspl whichever you use. This is more to cut out the downgrading step.

no, cos you already have spl 2.08.0000 so hspl1024 already works.
this is just an update to the installer so that it works with all model hd2s, and all spl versions, with less options to go wrong.
Is this TMOUS compatible?

yep. works on spl 2.08.0000 and spl 2.10.0000 so no need to downgrade.
You can only choose 2.08.hspl or stock 2.08.0000 though, cotulla decided its safest to just offer the one spl fits all.
Should work on pretty much every hd2 out there.
so for everyone that keeps asking is it needed to switch to HSPL3 if you already have HSPL_1024 the answer is no.
If you were on stock rom 2.13 ( which the phones ship with this now) your spl would be 2.10.000 so if you wanted to HSPL before you would have to downgrade your rom to 2.10 which would give you a SPL of 2.08.000 but with this you will not need to downgrade which gives you less of a chance to brick your phone.
wouldn't an HSPL 2.10.000 offer some performance benefit?

What DLL ?
"the" does not tell us much ...
Everything you need should be in the zip
timeout usually caused by using usb slot in pc casing or hub.
you should use one around back of the pc.

Hi Mark,
I have an HTC HD2 from Vodafone with SPL 3.03, Radio version 2.07.51.22_2 and ROM version 1.72.161.3 (82124) WWE. I want to move from Windows Mobile 6.5 to FROYO. In all the tutorials I'm reading, I am having a hard time getting started because tutorials for SPL 3.03 require Radio version 2.15 and the official HD2 ROM. Can you clarify how to update the Radio and ROM version on a Vodafone branded phone? Is there a particular Froyo installation guide that would best suit my configuration? Thanks for your help.

Hi Mike,
It doesnt matter what version your Radio is as you want to install HardSPL on your phone before flashing a newer Radio.
Follow my LEO flashing guide and use HSPL4.exe to change your SPL to 2.08.HSPL (HardSPL v2.08). Then you can flash a new 2.15.50.14 Radio via the same guide. You will now have the pre-requisits to install Magldr v1.13 and then CWM which you can use to flash a NAND Android Rom.
It may sound complicated but everything you will need is in my guides in my sig.
Mark.

Change HD2 with TMOUS HD2?

I will change my HD2 with TMOUS HD2 one. What do you think about that? I am from Eastern Europe, is this a problem?
Is there enough Android and WM6.5 ROMs for T-Mobile version.
Is it worth the whole, this change?
512MB ROM more
Yes it is worth the change as just about all, if not all, Android ROMs will run on the TMOUS. And most custom ROMs now are based on the 3.14 stock TMOUS ROM. I absolutely love my TMOUS. Just remember you can not flash a 2.04.50.xx, 2.05.50.xx, or any x.xx.51.xx radio to the TMOUS or you will brick the phone. So never ever flash a non T-Mobile stock ROM to it. Also do not flash the 2.01 ROM in the T-Mobile HTC HD2 test and stock ROM thread here on XDA to it as it has a 2.05.50.11 radio and will brick a TMOUS.
Are the Android builds for T-Mobile HD2 better than regular HD2?

You must know more about it then mecause I am notaware of any Android ROM that is spacificaly for the TMOUS. If it is please pointmy tothem and I will try them out. I currently am using Hyperdroid on my TMOUS and it is great. I went withHyperdroidas I did stood bit of reasearching on the Android ROMs and thought Hyperdriid sounded best to me, now that was just my opinion not a definitive statement. I have a link to it in my sig if youwantto check it out. Nowasfor your question most of the Android ROMs run great on the TMOUS fromwhat Ihave read. I am also member of the T-Mobile forums and every one therethathas went NAND Android loves any Android ROM they try.

[Q] Radio which supports 576 MB Ram on SPL 3.03.0000

Hello!
I have looked my way through every forum I could on the subject but cannot find my answer. I'm not sure If this is posted in the right section either. Anyways here's my problem.
I am trying to install WP7(mango) on my HTC HD2. Its SPL version is 3.03.0000. SO I know I need to use HSPL4.
The problem is that I need to flash a new radio which supports 576 MB. Right????
Also, Is there a certain MAGLDR I need to use for SPL 3.03?
Thanks for your help!

The radio version matters on the regional specs (U.S., Europe, Asia, SA, etc) of your phone not how much memory although only the U.S. version has 1gb others have 576. Regardless, WP7 only recognizes 576mb no matter which version.
There is radio thread in the rom development forum, I think, and also one here in general q&a, too.
As for HSPL, only v2.08 works for installing WP7 on the HD2. You will see what you need in any of the WP7 rom threads. v3.03 will not work.
See tutorial links in my signature.
So radio doesnt matter, but I need HSPL v2.08. I'm just going to assume I dont need a certain version of MAGLDR?

The radio does matter. Like I said, the hardware radio driver depends on your phone's region specs. If you have a European HD2, more than likely you'll have the correct driver but may need
to be updated to the latest European/carrier version. Look in the radio threads for any current version for your phone version and carrier.
There is only one version of Magdlr...2.something, I think.
Well I got everything I need now. Except the ROM because the link is broke. oh well.

Well, only HSPL 2.08 is usable to flash WP7 as well as Android. Besides, 576 is moot since WP7 consolidates RAM and SD for total system memory. WP7 is unusable without an SD card.
Use HSPL4 to install HSPL 3.03 then go on use it install HSPL 2.08, MAGLDR could only on HSPL 2.08
