Anyone have a fix for the htc hd2 outlook blurry pcitures? - HD2 General

ive had to flash my phone and it resync'd with outlook and all my contact pictures on htc hd2 (ALMOST 100 of them have pictures) are blurry..
is there a easy fix for this? or do i have to manually fix them all by searching my caller id pics on storage card?
Thanks for any help

Seconded. This is really annoying.

for high resolution pics of contacts, use iconsoft phone extension, and add the pics to the contacts from there...

Third for this! I just did it with the one at a time, took a while >_<

tnx mate, that was great info, but, the trial software will last few more days, and I need permanent solution.
It would be great if somebody cam make freeware simple app "add/edit picture contacts in high quality mode". app designed only for that one task.

A decent Caller Photo application?

Alow, for the last 4 days that i have my JAM i have concluded that the bundled caller ID that displays contact photos SUCKS!!
first of all i dont like applications that are slow, means they are badly coded, and caller id takes like 10 seconds to load my 260 contacts database. Other than that it seems too buggy and not usable enought.
I have also tried Photo Contacts which seems a nice alternative however the lack of an easy way to add contact pictures have put me off buying it. I dont wanna name files in order to assign contact pictures. Throught the contact list could have been superb. Althought the full screen contact pictures are awesome.
Any alternatives to them? or shall we start coding?
My wish is an application that use the photo from the contact.
In Outlook2003 you can assign photos to your contacts why not use them?
for that we will need to wait until WM5, if i am not mistaken in WM5 Pocket outlook supports contact pictures and hopefully activesync 4 will sync them as well.
Take a look at Photo Contacts v1.1 where you can assign photos from within the program. Works like a charm!
How do you do that? Its that one i hav tried, th trial version
Loboman can you send me your version to try it out to [email protected] ? it seems that the demo is version 1.0 and not 1.1!
Of course, I spend over $20 to get this program for my PDA2k (and now my JAM), and some guy posts the full, latest version right here.
DOH!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=20500
Have to admit, though, it's way better than IA Caller ID and it's full screen!

contacts pictures

i found that the contacts pix are too small,
does anyone know a way to enlarge those, thank you
Even i find the same issue. Theya are thumbnail size. Anyone on this?
What resolution do the caller images have? So i can start converting my photos.
In the TV Series "Knight Rider (2008)" the Xperia displayed the caller photo in full 800 x 480 but i guess that was just a trick for the TV show if you think the photos are to small...
contact pictures
Pictures are not just small but all are blurry.
Any ideas?????
if you sync with outlook how do they look there?
i got all my pictures from facebook contact sync with outlook
and my pictures look the same in outlook as on the x1

Trick to save high resolution picture to Outlook Contact

Edited: 9 Jan 2009
S2V can be use to add a high-res picture to Outlook Contact directly without any complication^^ : suggested by emwdava
Hi ^^
As I switched from ASUS P525 to XPERIA which has 480*800 display, my old contact pictures seem to be a bit outdated. So I looked in to it and found out that Outlook 2007 has very limited resolution for contact picture.
Later on Ive learned that Inesoft Phone have the ability to import up to 240*240 picture into Outlook Contact(but thats not satisfy me).
Ive searched the web and this forum and found the wanted program "iContact BE 7.0 beta2". http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=402724
This program can import any resolution picture into the Outlook Contact (use original picture size in setting).
But again (I think it is a bug) when I import big picture (approx 300px+) it will make that contact unsyncable(sync fail).
After trying for many hours , I've got a trick for it.
1. Import large picture into the contact by using iContact BE.
2. Use Inesoft Phone to edit the picture, just open picture selection screen, click preview, then click ok(without touching the picture)
3. And now the cantact can be sync normally ^^
This may be just a little finding but I hope it helps.
Any comments are welcome ^^
which version of Inesoft Phone did you use to achieve this?
Inesoft Phone 4.4
S2V can also save a high quality picture to a contact.
And it's free.
A-C S2V
Or you could just do it the other way around, i.e. add the high res picture to your contact on your phone, which works.
But can it still sync without problems with Outlook after that?
Ive overlooked this method as I'm using only Inesoft Phone ^^
So...., Tested.
The picture can be add normally, sync fine.
BUT! This method just add that picture as picture attachment(noticed by clip icon in Outlook) and save only 108*108 picture into Outlook database(just right-click on the picture in outlook and copy then paste it in picture editing program to verify). This mean that any other programs(including CallerID) will see the picture as 108*108 pixels image.
As emwdava said that S2V and add the hi-red picture directly.
Tested and works!!! perfectly ^^

yeah 240x240 sucks
Does anyone know of a comparable product to S2V for the desktop to allow high resolution photos to be added to Outlook contacts on the desktop as opposed to on the Windows Mobile device? S2V works very well for adding the photos on the Windows Mobile device, but for adding photos to many contacts it's much easier to work on the desktop so I'd love to find a comparable product?

still searching...
Outlook Pictures.
I should have thought that by now Microsoft would have fixed their contacts that we shall be able to add high resolution pictures and off course get them synced.
I hope they will pick up this matter in their 2010...
Still looking for a way to assign high resolution pictures to an outlook contact on my desktop-pc...
Is there any change with outlook 2010?
Outlook 2010 resizes contact pictures that have been added to 314x314 pixels IMHO - definitely better than the 72x72 pixels I got with Outlook 2003/2007.
Still, if someone knows a way to add highres pictures on the desktop to contacts I would be very much interested in this. I've searched the documentation for the .NET Outlook connector and I have not found how this can be done in C#.
Since iTunes can add high-res pictures (that have been set on the phone) back to Outlook 2003/2007, it must be possible somehow :-(

Size of contact pictures?

Hello Forum,
Does anybody know what the ideal size for the contact pictures would be (in pixel)? Coming from the Diamond to the Diamond 2 I was very much surprised to see that the "old" D1 pictures looked quite ugly on the D2. Now I want to be ready for the HD2 when it arrives on Friday.
Anyone?
Greetings, Studebaker
Afraid I can't answer that question myself, but I can tell you that the Facebook integration with your contact list is very well done indeed (once you find it lol!!)
It automatically takes the top-center part of the current contact photo and uses that, so it makes them optimal size (since it does it itself!)
If you've got all, or most of, your contacts on Facebook, you've got nothing to worry about.
Somewhat true.
Apart from on mine I have three contacts who refuse to sync with facebook. I can't view any of their pictures via facebook mobile and I cannot see their small display pic.
More of a problem with crappy facebook mobile I think though.

Have you tried individually associating each contact with their facebook profile, via the Sense UI?
How?
If you mean go to the contact - link with facebook - then selecting them from the facebook list, then yes I have tried this. It has a downward arrow next to their silhouette for a few secs then just gives up.

Yeah, that's what I meant. Thought it was worth asking. It took me quite a while to find that, and I've been playing with Sense on my HD for quite a while now. Maybe I'm just a slow learner

Facebook contact as display pictures ??

Hi,
I finally got some of my friends phone contact to sync with facebook. I can see a little small picture of them in contact, but I don't seem to get the picture to display when I make a phone call. Am I missing something or can you make their facebook picture as dialing display picture by clicking on something ?
Thanks.
Mine does it, I log into facebook through my contacts and it puts all my facebook contact friends pic as the contact pic in my phone.
1) Hit people tab
2) all people
3) 3rd icon should be facebook (updates and events)
4) know tap on Me/ My Updates
Thats how I do it and it works flawlessly. GL.
It should do that automatically. Have you tried with more than one person? I'm having a similar problem, but only with one contact. Works fine for the most part.
When you go to edit contact info, press their picture in the top right and you should have the option to set as facebook picture.
maybe its a manila 2.5 issue. I will try the same thing with a 2.1 manila rom and see if it will sync properly with the display picture when dialing.
Mine is also doing the same thing. It displays the picture under favorite people and in the contact list, but when making or receiving a call it does not display the picture. Im running ark666's rom
I have the same problem with Leo rom running sense 2.5/maxmanilla
I thought I was doing something wrong. I am running art666 Rhodium AF as well.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=552821
I will report this on his thread and attach this link to the post as well. Thanks everyone.
it works fine for me, but i have a problem, that whenever a contact changes his picture the picture isn't changed on my phone....i can't find anything to update the pictures.....i tried also to remove the pic and then to add the facebook link again, but i always get the old picture...
i forgot to write that i use the original HTC WM6.5 rom
for the most part the pairing to facebook pics work fine for me, however i've found that some of my facebook friends aren't available when i search for them to link to their contact info. there are about 30 friends on my facebook that for some reason aren't available to link. i'm using the tilt 2, stock ROM. any ideas?
I also have this problem
I found out that the dialer instead of using the picture from facebook, it uses the picture that is on the winmo default contacts...
Does anyone knows a fix to display only the facebook picture instead the one that's on the winmo contacts??
well i had this trouble but i updated my rom and backed-up my contact using pimpackup. it backups the contact and sets the current (facebook) picture as outlook picture. then you reinstall the backup file which will delele all your pim and install your contact with their default pictures as outlook thus end any dialer problems you're having. you should call and see their the picture you had
Hmm, I always use PIMBackup to backup and restore the contacts, and always have the default pictures from the outlook. But what I want is that facebook pictures become the default ones...

You could try this, remember to read the whole thing first
I don't have an issue with the pictures, but stuff like birth dates. For some reason, when I sync contacts with FB, I get their birthdates and with a FB logo next to it. All well and good, except the birthdates won't pop up on my calendar, making it practically useless.
Now, if I type in their birth date manually it automatically updates the calendar.
Anyone know how to fix this?
