Had issues with Froyo and streaming to my car's Parrot MK6100 handsfree. Audio would cut and then skip. I switched back to the older radio (and broke video recording ATM) but now streaming works great again. This was a real show stopper for me so now that it's fixed I'm happy again.
I opened a seperate thread so this does not get lost in the radio thread in case someone else can use this info.

That's interesting. I'm using FroYo, with the updated radio (4.06.00.12_7) and haven't had any of the issues that others have been having with the new radio . I use a Motorola S9-HD bluetooth headset and haven't had any issues with call quality or streaming music.
I haven't had any problems with my Pioneer head unit in my car, either. Works perfectly.

same with my sony unit, no problems at all
The new radio is much better for me with A2DP.. I could only get it to connect about 1 time in 3 with the old one (causing much frustrated switching on and off of bluetooth until it worked) and now it works 95% of the time.
Well, streaming to my BT headphones was OK with both radios so I guess it's some incompatibility between the N1 and the Parrot MK6100... It would seem to me as if their sampling rathe was incompatible, causing buffer overrun or underrun (it would happen at fixed intervals). Guess the MK6100 is to be blamed (last time I am buying Parrot products anyway).
Other than that - no issues with any of the radios.

my bluetooth will pair with phones and headsets but will not connect for file transfer
Might just be me (but I doubt it)...I haven't seen an Android build yet that had OBEX. Check the changelog and feature list for your particular upgrade and see if that was offered.
I have had issues with the bluetooth as well. I bought a Motorola s705 for streaming music/speakerphone in my car. For some reason, the sound quality is CRAP and it 'hiccups' every 30 seconds or so. I tried the same device with my wife's t-mobile shadow (htc juno) running WinMo... Worked beautifully.
I'm using the .26I radio, but seriously considering going back to the old radio to see if it improves performance.
I also just tried to pair and do file transfer with my friends Blackberry and failed as well. I think beartard is right... No OBEX.
I am having issues as well. My Pioneer car stereo supports A2DP, and all is well when the thing is paired, but next time I go to use it, I get connection "Error" when connecting either HFP or A2DP. Disabling stereo bluetooth on the stereo seemed to fix HFP, but I want my Stereo bluetooth.....
Have others had much luck with A2DP?
hey thanks for the replies guys but i was looking for some answers haha
AFAIK, only A2DP and AVRCP was added in Android 1.5, so no big wonder file transfer wont work...
A2DP works like a charm with my A2DP headset - haven't tried with other devices.

Stereo Bluetooth skipping issues
If streaming music via bluetooth is skipping, turn off your wifi and that will fix your problem. I was having major anxiety over this, but found the answer last night searching forums. I tried it out and my music has not skipped since. I stream music to my car stereo and it is excellent now that I've turned my wifi off.
So I love my incredible...best phone ever...haha. Which is why I'm making all these changes to accommodate it!
I was playing with it yesterday, and I ran pandora and navigation at the same time- during which, I called myself, and the phone call went thru. No freezes, no glitches, nothing. So Instead of just having cords galore when plugging into my car. Can I just buy a bluetooth cardeck and sync it with my phone and go from there?
Has/Is anyone doing this now? Advice is always appreciated- Thanks in advance!
I have a PIONEER FH-P800BT and its great. Bluetooth works great for calls and A2DP streaming. When streaming audio alerts come through also, so you may want to pick some that arent too obnoxious. Ipod controls work pretty well too if your into that sort of thing.
I use a bt stereo too. It works awesome. People can here me well and I stream music all the time. As soon as proclip comes out with the Incredible device holder, I'll be all set. I use a JVC KD-BT1 head unit.
I am using a Kenwood BT200 and I also seem to have no issues with music and phone calls
I don't have my Incredible just yet but I've been using a Motorola T505 Bluetooth in my car since before I got my G1 and haven't had any issues with it. Had it about two years now. It has a built-in FM Transmitter so I'll listen to Pandora or my own music through my car stereo even when people call me I'll hear it through the speakers. No one ever reported not being able to hear me clearly when using it.
I was thinking about this some more and the more I think about it, the more I don't think Pandora will play via bluetooth. You will definitely be able to play from your library

Yep, pandaora and slacker work via a2dp
Yes. I have DUAL head unit and works fine with A2DP BlueTooth with my Incredible and yes Pandora plays thru A2DP with no problem. So, go ahead and do what ever U R thinking of doing.
awesomee..thanks everyone..so i really just need to find a unit that has A2DP..cool. I was wondering what the difference between call placing and audio streaming in terms of bluetoothin' !!
I just ordered a Motorola T605 for my car (2001 RX300 without nav) and a Parrot MKi9000 for my wife's car (2006 saturn ion). I would have prefered to get the moto for both (since it's $100 cheaper), but her radio doesn't have a mute switch and probably would have been harder to install. I'm going to do the install in the coming weeks myself.
Kenwood DNX6140 BT setup works great
I have the kenwood unit in my Trailblazer EXT and got the car bracket at VZW store. The suction cup places the phone way out of convient reach any way you try so I use the holster part with a vent clip that I had from another mount from an XM unit I tossed in favor of Pandora. Nav, Pandora, anything else runs fast and flawlessly, phone calls great.

I have almost the exact same head unit. Works pretty well, I reviewed it here:
FH-P8000BT Review
Hi all,
Apologies in advance if this is in the wrong forum, but it does pertain to the array of 2.1 ROMs out there.
I am in search of a 2.1 based ROM that has fully functioning A2DP stereo bluetooth capabilities.
Ive used Fresh 2.0d for a long time (still do), tried DamageControl 2.08 etc.
Only one that I had some success with was DarchLegend v5.0.5, but it seemed to have problems getting my contact pictures from Facebook etc. (Admittedly I may have to try it again).
My question is whether anyone can recommend a ROM where A2DP is known to work perfectly?
Also, a more general question: are ROMs like Fresh and Damage Desire-based as opposed to Darch being Legend-based? If this is the case, what are the benefits of a Desire-based ROM over a Legend-based ROM?
(I fully admit that I don't know enough about this stuff...I've tried to search but am still in need of answers - please help a curious guy out!)
Thanks for all the help
I've used an a2dp stereo bluetooth (Blueant X5i to be specific) with the ZenEXP (mytouch based) rom, with Fresh Toast 1.1 and with Fresh 2.0d. ZenEXP seemed the best to me, but they're all glitchy. Slacker works fine with the headset. Pandora will stop playing music over it after the screen turns off. I don't use the built in media player so I can't say how well that works. NPR stream & tweet and iheartradio both worked with it just fine too. If it gets a hiccup though, it'll stop the audio and the bluetooth will get stuck saying it's disconnected and it won't reconnect properly until you restart the phone. Pandora did this any time the screen turned off.
Just yesterday I upgraded the firmware for my blueant Q1 and streamed some audio from slacker just fine. Also checked htc music app and worked too. Ill do more extensive testing tonight. Im on Damage control v2.08 which is a sprint hero based rom.
I notice that both of you above are using Blueant...
Here's my problem...I have both a Jawbone ICON and Bluetooth Stereo speakers in my 2010 Mazda.
The Jawbone seems to work fine when I upgraded it to support A2DP, but I just don't really like it because its quiet and outputs just through one speaker (obviously). My Mazda is the one Im really trying to get working...it worked flawlessly on a 1.5 based ROM (proving that the speakers/bluetooth in the car itself works)...its just on these 2.1 based ROMs.
Any ideas?

I have a 2010 Mazda 3i with bluetooth that worked fine with android 1.5 but the audio is messed up with android 2.1, it plays at 2 times the normal speed and will randomly slow down and sputter at times. I am thinking about rooting my phone in a couple days and playing around with the bluetooth files if possible since you aren't having any luck with any of the 2.1 ROM's out there
bluetooth
My phone worked perfectly on bluetooth in my tacoma with car m_media. Since 2.1 it works sometimes. The sprint store told me it was not the phone which I know it is and I should get a newer bt device. It was new last year. I have now found if I go into airport mode for a few seconds and then go back the bt will work until I get away from the truck again. I have to do the airport thing everytime I come back, but it will work.
Jawbone A2DP update
Anyone with jawbone can now use earphone as headphone for 'any' media from Hero, http://mytalk.jawbone.com/jb2/mytalk/beta, hope this helps!
jjjjayd13,
Hello, I am pairing my Aria with Motorola MOTOROKR T505 and experiencing issues when streaming music to my FM radio. Every 20 seconds or so the streaming stops for a split second making this a very annoying experience
I think there is a problem with the bluetooth stack, I was using cyanogenmod CM6-Liberty (FroYo) ROM and the experience was awesome. I went back to the AT&T original ROM last night because the battery life and performance with the Froyo was really bad but now I cannot listen to music in the car.
Any tips/ideas?
Cheers
I just got my T505 this morning, took one call and listened to two songs on the way to work w/o problem. I am still running the stock ROM, have not flashed yet. Several reviews mention issues with FM frequencies ... have you tried a different frequency?
Hummm, I was having this issue while connected to the T505 internal speaker. I just did a full reset (holding Volume Up and Power) and now works!!
Cheers
I have this same issue with my Sprint Hero and the T505 in my car. I think I had to turn off wifi to stop it (wifi was causing interference as it was scanning)...though this may not be the case with you.
So, this issue isn't isolated to the Aria.

I noticed I had my wifi off when I did the T505 reset. Turning wifi on brings the problem back. Thanks for clarifying that!
Anyone else having serious bluetooth issues in car or otherwise? I cannot make calls out in my car (2010 GMC Terrain). It will make the call initially, but the sound is very choppy and I drop the BT connection every time.
Figured I would try here before returning the phone to see if its a known issue. Very frustrating considering my SGS1 worked 100% fine.

I use BT a lot and haven't had any trouble establishing and maintaining a connection. I've used it with two different Infiniti's and it's performed flawlessly - auto connects, transfers contacts, support calls waiting and hold, streams BT audio, displays artist and title via the car's display, pauses music for incoming calls, and tracks forward and back using the car's controls.
Does the Terrain have GM's funky BT via OnStar? I had a CTS with it and it drove me mad. I had three different phones and none of them worked exactly the way they should have.

Ford Edge with Sync. The sound quality with my SGS2 is horrid! Mine is also choppy though I don't drop the connection. As soon as I turn bluetooth off the sound quality on the phone is great.
Guys, I've this same problem with my car (2009 Toyota Avensis + build-in Nokia CK-100 - official Bluetooth module) and my friend car (2010 Nissan Note + build-in BT Nissans radio). Choppy sound but I didn't see disconnects. I've branded rom for Polish T-mobile, shoud I change it to custom? or maybe any official service can re-install branded firmware?
Maybe Wifi + BT + GPS couldn't be turn onn at the same time? I didn't find any paths to resolve problem.
Sorry for my poor english
I am using mine with a Ford and it works perfectly.
