HTC Legend to Google Nexus One - Legend General

hey..!
i got the HTC Legend and i like it pretty good..
but i am thinking about moving to Google Nexus One
what do you guys think ? should i stay or move ?

Stay or move to the desire or evo, only benefit of the nexus one over those is that the nexus one will get the android updates first

Move!

Upgrading

Hi,
I have a HTC Hero at the moment and I love it to bits but I was just looking what is out there at the moment, and the acer and the nexus one caught my eye and I was wondering which one would be the best to upgrade to.
I like the looks of the nexus one the build and it's HTC I have a lot of faith with their phone haha.
Thanks
Malc

decisions deisions..

im currently going to upgrade a handsetwith something high end i currently have a MT3G with CM5 want to get one of these:
Nexus one
Mytouch 3g slide
HTC HD2
which one should i get and y i wil definetly hack the HD2 or nexus or slide so count that in too im no averAge consumer but each appeal too me alot so im having a hard time choosing! thx 4 ur help in advance
overall i would say the nexus its the best phone out still. it has the most power and is fast as hell. then i would say the slide next its just not as powerfull as the nexus but it has a keyboard so you gotta decide what you want. the hd2 is last not a fan of windows mobile
nexus > slide
anything android > HD2

Galaxy s or desire hd

Its time for my nexus to rest so which one should i go for Samsung galaxy s Or HTC desire hd,which has better CPU and gpu and ram.

I say Nexus One, wait until there is a phone that have things that the N1 don't have or can handle... the SGS and DHD is no big upgrade imo.
Between those 2, go the HTC. Samsung has a bad name in android, until they change that, HTC is always the smartest option. For support, stability and updates

I'm going to be getting a new phone soon as well.
But I'm in the US. I hate getting subsidized phones, due to being locked in for 2 years, and the fact that once a new phone comes out on at&t (like the recent galaxy s) everyone gets it.. and that's annoying.
WinPhone7 looks kinda goofy. But I can't take a poke at it since it's not officially released yet.
The Desire HD is something I really desire though.
had a play with one of htc's yet to be released windows phone 7 phones and I've got to say, I'm considering hanging up my nexus for one. I hope someone manages to port windows phone 7 to the nexus, that would be sweet

[Q] Nexus One replacement?

Hi all! I'm thinking of selling my Nexus One, but before doing so I'm looking at what options I have open to me. Can any of you guys suggest phones, any OS really, and comment about the phone with respect to the Nexus?
I'm currently considering the HTC Desire Z/ G2, the HTC Desire HD, the Nokia N8 and the iPhone 4. Any thoughts?
Oh, and no CDMA phones please. I live in a GSM country.
Get an HD2 and flash whatever rom you want on it, unless you want a front facing camera then its down to the IPhone 4 or the nexus s...

dont get nokia n8. that is a definite downgrade. desire z seems a downgrade too (slower CPU) desire hd yes, iPhone 4, i wouldn't get that. i would wait a couple months till iPhone 5 (june) or if you can hold of, just keel your nexus, it is still arilliant phone. you can update it through loads of custom roms. you will also get the official 2.3 update. hope i helped.
I barely got my nexus one since I got it for cheap on ebay but I was reallllllly tempted of getting the nokia N8 coming from a nexus one to a desire z or a desire hd doesn't really qualify for a nexus one upgrade. My opinion is if your using the next phone for 6 months to a year get the iphone 4 or N8 if your geting another android device stick to your nexus. If your planning to keep the device for a year or two wait until the next gen iphone comes out or meego or android tegra devices.
Personally I wouldn't sell off you N1 just yet. The N1 still has a lot of life left in it, the recent releases aren't exactly huge upgrades.
If your N1 died/broke/bricked/whatever and you need a replacement then yes, a Desire HD or even a Nexus S would be a good choice if it picks your fancy.
If you are selling because you want a new toy to play with then I'd wait until the dual cores hit the market since they just around the corner.

Thanks guys, but I have come to a conlusion that I think many Nexus One owners feel. I've been looking ALL OVER at phones that have just come out, being rumoured, etc etc, but this just made me want my Nexus even more because (silly as it may sound) I can't find anything that I feel could occupy the same space in my heart as the Nexus
Now, I'm off to get myself some of those custom ROMs. Thanks a million guys!

no problem mate
Yeah you'd be better off waiting. CES is going on right now and a lot of the new phones will be out fairly soon (going by the current rate phones are being churned out).
I'm looking to move on too, but I'm happy to wait for the new pack.

I'm chiming in a bit late here as you have made up your mind and keeping your Nexus, but I will add that the Nexus One is the best phone I've ever owned. My main reason: The phone did not come loaded with bloatware and you don't have to root or flash to make it a great device. You're making the right decision.

Thanks again guys, looking at what's out the moment only makes me love my Nexus more. Even more so that I'm running Cyanogenmod 7 on it XD
The dual core phones are interesting, but none have the same "impact" the Nexus One has. And I'd be surprised if Google didn't release a "Nexus 2" with the same power, and maybe 2.4 if the rumours are to be believed.

Technically there is a sucessor, - Google Nexus S developed by Samsung. but i wouldnt condider it a major upgrade.
I completely agree that the nexus s is not much of an upgrade.. More of a face lift. Personally I have messed with my buddy's NS and it feels like my Vibrant I had (cheep and plastic) but I do have to say it looks sexy. I love my N1 and it will be around until it bites the dust.
Great choice on keeping your N1!!
I know about the Nexus S, but I think calling it the Nexus One's successor is borderline crimal.
Agreed, it looks great, but doesn't feel so great. But I guess it's a suitable platform to launch Gingerbread. After all, it's almost more about the software than the hardware.

[Q] HD2 successor for hackers: Galaxy Nexus or S3 or others?

I am a happy owner of an HTC HD2 (with Android), but now Apps are getting bigger, and require more speed and memory to run smoothly, and I think I have to get a new phone.
What other device is a good choice for smartphone hackers? I like to mess with it, try many roms, mods and hacks.
I know that the Galaxy Nexus is the first to receive official new Android versions, but it is already outdated by the super Galaxy s3, which on the other hand has the flash counter and modified rom checks, which reduce the possibility of hacking (or reduce it only if you want to use stock roms?)
still no news when will Google announce the Next Nexus device? should be very soon..... (hope it's now what I read yesterday, that it will be a 5" device from HTC, I want a phone, not a phablet)
HD2 is still a wonderful device, and I'll keep it for hacking, but I need a second phone.
(I am in europe, and I will get a contract free phone)
I'm pretty much in the same boat, had the HD2 for a couple of years but battery life is just too short for me these days with all the uses I have for my phone. I'm holding out till the next Nexus phone is released and will probably see what has good development at that time.
I got a play store Nexus and Love it still play with the HD2 main reason for me to go with Nexus was the ability to have current release from google vs having to wait on Samsung or HTC to release theirs

Go with the s3. It's the most popular device and will have continued rom development because of it. The HD2 only became so hacked because of the popularity of the device.
