so since ive gotten the phone ive flashed roms on this baby the second i got home, i loved to flash roms everyday as i did with my other pda's. But the problem im having with exactly every single rom is that no matter what after 3 or 4 days with it , it becomes super laggy even after restarts, it hangs like crazy... ive tasked 29 many times so i didnt think it could be the flash being clogged up... if anyone has and similiar problems can you let me know what you did to fix it?
This probably doesn't help, but I am running Stock ROM and it still seems to perform just as well as day one. I used to flash ROMs and there is no way it became laggy after a couple days.
US spb mobile shell
SPB mobile shell 3.5 + Expreso theme looks like the HTC EVO.
0(cero) crashes because it disables part of manila in the sms, contacts and all that buggy part of manilla.
much much faster, and much more customizable.
I think you can try it for 14 days, you're gonna really like it.
Hope it helps

Hey I am running the stock windows mobile 6.1 from sprint because I just got a replacement but I have always noticed that when i type a message, the letters always lag and it takes about 2 seconds for the phone to finally catch up. is there any solution for this problem out there because there was for the tilt but I tried that solution and it made things worse. any help would be appreciated.
I'd like an answer to that too.
That Makes Three Of Us And I Have To Say Its Pretty Darn Annoying!
From what I can tell this is just a problem with the hardware keyboard that has no fix (to the best of my knowledge)
actually not....
its not a problem with the hardware as it doesnt do this in the old 6.0 stock rom and when you hard reset then its normal and doesnt lag till a couple days later. I just flashed KAOS mogul rom from smartphonejunkie and it doesnt really do that at all. So there is something in the software definitely
So, long story short, I had a Nexus One, which I loved EXCEPT for the fact that my coverage was horrible, half my text messages didn't send, the battery life sucked, and the screen was getting burn in and had weird color saturation.
So I got an HD2.
And, coverage is great, in fact it's the only phone on any carrier that I have ever seen maintain a 3G signal in my dads house which is like in the forest lol. No dropped calls or unsent texts. Love the screen, love the music player, love Sense UI, etc. BUT...
No matter what I do, I seem to have the same problems...
1. Applications not opening. This happens most frequently with Opera. I've tried the stock ROM, the new 2.13 stock ROM, and ChuckyRom. And while for a day or two there are no problems, after a little bit I just randomly get error messages opening Opera (and some other programs) saying there isn't enough memory or a file is missing. Sometimes if I close everything in the task manager it will open but sometimes not. It always works again after a reset. It's REALLY frustrating. I don't really want to do crazy stuff with the phone, I just want everything to work. So any ideas how to fix this?
2. HTC Messaging. After a couple days, when I have a few contacts with 100+ messages, there is this AWFUL delay before I can type a response. Same as above, I tried a few different ROMs and after a couple days it's the same thing.
I know these seem like little things, but when I want to go to the browser and literally 2/3 of the times it just won't open without a reset, or when I go to reply to a message and it won't let me type for 30 seconds, it's just really annoying, all the time. So any ideas to fix this, whether it be different ROMs, or registry changes, or anything, please let me know.
Ugh I can't wait til someone ports Android or WP7 to this fantastic hardware lol.
i had the same problem that you were having until i used a custom rom. i figured everyone that was having lag is when using the htc messaging so i found a rom without it. its a pretty basic rom without the htc sense ui on there and that solved my problems. you should just try out different roms to see which one works best for you
Try using kumars latest ROM 2.0 with htc messaging disabled. No lag at all.
weird issue here. every few weeks suddenly my password is not accepted anymore. this always results is the phone hard resetting after 9 failed attempts.
it is a 4 number "####" password which is my birthday and the same numeric password ive used my entire life. i even sent the hint as the password just in case something went wrong.
might this have something to do with the CHT 1.7.1 lock screen? i had the same issue using CHT 1.6, 1.7, and soon enough 1.8
i have everything basically saved on my sd card so im quite good at re-setting up my phone again every time but surely i am not the only person with this issue.
any help would be greatly appreciated here as i am terrified to lock my phone, everytime.
thanks
jason
happened to me 3 times
2 times I was soft resetting due a -Reg tweak- i have now S2U2 it has a password but it is really easy to jump s2u2, sometimes it doesnt even ask it after rebooting.
I have to say that all the time when i had the password problem i was using Sense. there were 2 weeks when i didnt use it(i was using titanium) and it was ok, however i can blame sense, don't have any evidence besides my experience, im not using anymore sense but im afraid to put the windows password, i have modified so much my phone...
by the way i use spb ms.
I had this happen on my HD2 about a week or 2 after I bought it and created a thread, seems others had it happen too. I ended up having to hard reset. Its not happened since and its probably been over 2 months
well here i am , yet again staring down the barrel of a loaded password gun. in on try 7 out of 10 and surely ill have to hard reset my phone again.
does no one have an answer for this nightmare situation?
jason
It happened to me twice before I stopped using sense and started using SPB Mobile Shell. It hasn't happened since.
thats it, ive switched to spb mobile shell 3.5.3. its pretty good and although not quite as clean to the eye as sense, it seems a bit more customizable. i like it and already notice increased performance (or decreased lagging)
thanks
jason
No problems with SPB MS 3.5?
Glad to hear it. I'm going to start using the password then.
by the way I tried to modify spb to look like sense, here are some S.shots.
BTW, has anyone figured out a way to get the HTC Sense application for stock quotes into SPB Mobile Shell?
This is a known problem with the T-Mo HD2. It was to be fixed in the recent update. Happened to me twice. Installed SPB Backup so if it happens again, I'm back up and running in 10 minutes.
just a little follow up here. i installed spb mobile shell 3.5.5 and i have to say this was the best move i could have made. it is:
1) super stable
2) very customizable ( i had thought sense was the nicest but ive since changed that opinion)
3) fast fast fast. this runs much faster than it did with sense. (sense always ran at 45%-50%, this runs around 33%-38%)
4) no freeze ups, period. streaming media plays great as well.
my coworker also switched and says the same thing. it isnt even close. my password woes are gone, and:
i also installed spb backup and it is also awesome. one click and everything is back exactly as it was in 15 seconds. i even hard reset my phone to do a test today and it worked flawlessly.
best,
jason
I am throughly enjoying NRGZ28's Titanium Rom, with my SPB Mobile Shell, 3.5.5 running on top, it has speed, good battery life, and good idea candy when paired with Mobile Shell.
but I am having two problems, one thats really major, and if I can work around it I will have to find another rom, even though rom digging and hunting is not something I really enjoy doing.
Major thing is that at least once or twice a day, when receiving a call, the phone will lock, and just starting repeating what sounds like a call tone. A hard reset brings everything back to normal, until a few hours or maybe even a day later I will get a call and it locks up again. I used a few radios, to see if its a radio issue, but I am back now at 2.07.50.27, and thats the recommended radio to use for this rom, and I still get this issue.
A few minor things is that internet sharring will not work, while the wifi router does, and I was having wifi connection problems after using the Wifi Monster application which was only fixed by a restore.
Some one please help me out, I am really enjoying getting into this rom scene, and I am patiently waiting for a fully working release of android for the HD2, or a 4.3in GSM Android running phone, but for now, I would love to have my HD2 stable and working with one of these great custom roms.

Hello,
I've got a problem with my HTC HD2.
I have it for over a year. Since then I have formated it 3 times, 2 times I have updated HTC rom (from their website). The problem is, that every 1 month after format my phone is going wild. It responds very slow to my touch, it hangs, freezes, sometimes touchscreen doesnt work at all, sometimes I can't answer phones, everything turns on very slowly. What can be the problem? I found out that the problem gets bigger after installing CHT and themes. With clean soft it doesnt seem to go wild (however I haver never used clean phone for more than 2 weeks...)
Have you considered trying an Android ROM?
Posted from my NexusHD2... Word!
No I haven't beacuase I heard that it's very battery consuming. Also I like WM6.5 and stuff I can download on it (CHT, Themes, Apps). Not everyone has problems with very slow device after installing CHT and stuff? Is there any other fix not so dramatic as changing from WM to Android?
At the very least I would consider
Backing up all important data
Running a task 29
Flashing the Rom of your choice
I actually went back to winmo from a nand android rom to see how the battery compared and its just about the same I'd say. Going back to winmo almost forced me to run my hd2 over with my car. Try a nand rom its real easy to switch back if you don't like it.
