6.5.3 ROM with all standard today plugins? - HD2 General

Folks,
I like to run my HD2 with the standard today screen (not Titanium), and I populate it with several of the standard plug-ins, notably including date/time and calendar. I then add some apps like SPB Weather, SPB Phone Suite, and a quick-launcher to get my complete experience.
What I'd really like is that same experience except with 6.5.3 instead of 6.5. I previously installed an Energy ROM but found that most of the standard today plug-ins were missing. Can anyone suggest a 6.5.3 ROM that is as close to "stock" as possible, including the standard today plug-ins?

I would also like to knoe if there is a rom like this. same as stock...just really snappy in performance

I am looking for a ROM that is similar to stock, includes standard old-school WM today plug-ins, and is 6.5.3 or later.
Does such a thing exist? Or did MS remove the standard old-school WM plug-ins in versions of WM post-6.5?

Which standard plugins are you referring to? Calendar, Tasks, Messages, and the like? I am using the Elegancia ROM with titanium right now, but when I turn it off those plugins are there, and I'm pretty happy with that as well.

Office Communicator Mobile 2007 R2 Update with 6.5 features?

I just noticed there is an update for Microsoft Office Communicator Mobile 2007 R2 posted on MS's website:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/969816
The release notes state there is Homescreen support for new Homescreens in WM 6.5+, plus integration within the phone dialer of 6.5+ phones. I assume then that WM 6.5 is almost ready?
Anyone with a 6.5 ROM installed this update yet? If so what are the new 6.5 features like? I am particularily interested in the integration with the phone dialer.

Tested this new version is working on 6.5 ROM Topaz cooked rom. Although in chome editor I could enable a tab for communicator, it doesn't appear on Today screen Titanium. Guess something is missing in the cpr or something.

Not sure if you got yours working or not but if you enable the "Display on Today Screen" option under General settings it will activate a panel in Titanium..
cheers..

making appointments in 6.5 update

Hello,
I'm a current Xperia user. I am considering a move to the TP2. One thing I would like to know is whether, after the latest WM 6.5 ROM upgrade, the ability to make appointments has been improved. Is it now integrated into Manila, or still the standard windows screen?
Also, is there the week view in Manila agenda?
Thanks a lot!

Old school look (Messaging/Contacts/Calendar)?

Hi there,
I'm thinking of buying HD2 but I'm a bit worried about how deep the HTC Sense/TouchFlo goes.
1. Today screen - since Sense is just a Today plugin it can be turned off, but
2. How about the non-skinned, standard Messaging/Contacts/Calendar application? Are they in the ROM? Are the HTC modifications just some addon or they completely changed the standard ones (like tmail.exe). Is the standard interface of these apps in any way accessible?
U can use classic Windows look - install plugins on desktop, use standard mail etc... Its implemented in WM, sense is only system upgrade... In Menu is folder Outlook with shortcuts to classic mail,calendar...

Recommed? wm6.1 vs 6.5

HTC Mogul currently on WM6.1 Live from RyanMogul, tried 6.5 heavy was a bit much for the device. any recommendations, pros/cons for 6.5/6.1 heavy/light on the mogul? has all services from cricket active on account.
Personally I love the 6.5 heavy. though I have not used the 6.5 light. I think the 6.5 was a huge improvement from 6.1. I am also enjoying the Win7 inspired edition from Ryan Mogul
For this device, I feel like 6.5 is too hefty. I can't deal with the slow speed when unlocking, changing orientation, texting, etc.
I prefer Ryan's 6.1 (version 1.5). I keep the standard Today Screen and use Iconsoft PhonEx 2.2 to replace contacts, dialer, and call screens. If you really hate the standard Today screen, I recommend iPhoneToday, as it uses less resources than any other alternative Today screen I've tried.
As PhonEx is a pay application, alternatives would be iDialer and iContact - however, I find that PhonEx uses less resources and behaves nicer than these.
Some swear by SPB Mobile Shell. I enjoy it as well, but I'm content with the above options. Mobile Shell is a great all-in-one solution, but it uses a bit more memory than the choices above.
I maintain around 27-28MB after Oxios. SPB Mobile Shell may get you to the 23-24 range.
Hopefully this helps!

Since the time i wrote this i have been using the 6.1 light, and having no issues except my data connection/wireless web doesnt want to work right, however, the pix msgs work just fine, crazy i know, im still working this out ( somehow, someway) i know i have the full package from cricket, so its just a matter of time, and some complaining to tech support and im sure itll work itself out.
6.1 has always worked better than 6.5 for me on our device. Just not enough RAM.

Does anyone have a picture of the differences of WM6.5 heavy vs. WM6.5 light?

Windows 6.5 with sense 2.5 vs SPB Mobile Shell? Which is faster?

I have used several ROMs with sense 2.5 for its quick link facility. I use lots of Medical tools with my HD. But as HD is well outside the capabilities for Sense 2.5 was designed. And I feel it is very slow for everyday use sometimes.
I have used Win 6.5 Titanium with SPB Mobile shell. There are many themes which simulate sense 2.5 with shortcut functionality. For example HTC PURE STYLE 3 from Mobilecustom.fr. There are even win Mobile 7 like skins from Proplus.
I feel some speed gain but not sure whether it is my mind due to bias.
Which combo is faster???? Post your experiences!
using additional application such as SPB Mobile Shell will slow down your HD because of additional RAM consumption. i think standard ROM (no addtional application installed when there're existing application which do the same function) will speed up your HD.
wrong section needs to go in general.
try NRGZ Standard Reference ROM - it's wm6.5+standard sense 2.5
then just install GFXBoost, and get BSB Tweaks and tick all of the graphics boosting boxes, and it should be quite zippy. but try different ROMs - different chefs focus on different things, some on features, others on speed. but there are definitely builds out there with speed.
personally, MS3.5.3 is way too laggy and the features, skins and themes aren't as elegant as Sense 2.5...there is always something not quite as good as sense.
for example - the calendar is not as flexible, smooth or as nice to use as the Sense 2.5 version.
Is there a way to implement quick links or shortcuts in Home page of manila 2.1?
black new
tries Black new V 2.5 Manilla fastest ROM that I had 38%
Winner is SPB Shell. Down load a rom without HTC Sense or manila. Test it by yourself. I got at least 100m RAM left after SPB Shell (70-80m with manila) .
You can also customize the short cuts for it (3 to 5 pages with 10 to 15 shortcuts for each page. It should be enough for your needs.
I have tried few ROMs up to now including Energy, Stonehedge, Kenia and KWBR. I always felt that SPB MS with WIN 6.5 is quite snappy and fast though I love the interface of Sense more.
I've been using Mobile Shell 3.5.5 lately with kwbr's WM6.5 and Manila 2.1 (no Sense) - very impressed. So impressed in fact, that I'm looking for a snappy WM6.1 ROM to use it on as I think this would cover everything I'm looking for!
You should try KWBR's titanium ROM with SPB MS. No point installing a ROM with manila unless you want to switch between two interfaces.
ok, this is useless thread number 23984723492...
As you can see from the responces, there are a lot of possible good and fast roms.
However you just need to try and see what you like best!
Some people say it is 'fast' when it is 'smooth' others sit by their rom with a stopwatch to determen if it's fast...
Oh, and this is not related to rom development, just to the HD so -> subforum general!
