hey folks, I am going to travel in europe soon. I have google maps installed. Any other suggestions for useful apps for travelling in England, France, Italy? thanks!
I used the London Tube GPS software a lot while there.

I don't know if it still works on this new hardware, and of course it does not work underground, but to get me between stations and all it was worth the money.

You could also try BING or ALK's CoPilot software. BING is free; CoPilot is not.

Hello,
I'm trying to get my hands on a 7500 or 7501. I stay in the bay area (CA) and I have yet to find one locally. If you have one available for sale please let me know. Like I mentioned, local prefered, but anywhere in the US will be considered.
Thanks for looking!
i have an ameo for sale because im getting a diamond. im in the uk, but i can ship if youre interested. its got a small mark in one corner but means nothing to the operation of it.

Im thinking of selling my 7501. I live in Chicagoland Area of Illinois. Thinking of going to the HTC Diamond. My 7501 is perfect and I have AP4.0 running on it without issues. I will include Tom Tom and a 2GB mini-SD card

i was looking for a back cover and a vibrator replacement for the nexus one. i was also trying to find the bottom board replacment..... does anyone know where to get those?
wow.....
NOTHING?
You could try ebay I guess, although the easiest would be to just contact HTC.
HTC doesn't exist in the middle east...... i get everything online from third party stores.
first party stores don't really care about the middle east
Hmm ok, you could try their Middle East office though?

Guys,
I came across a news from androidcentral.com; sorry dont know how to post a link, that google is currently testing paid apps in india and few of the users are able to see them.
Is it true, anyone from india can shed some light on this. The only thing that i didnt like about my nexus one is that im unable to get the nice apps. Now, this will make life better in india.
Thank you
Hi,
I dont know about androidcentral.com. But if you want to use paid apps from the market, try "Market Enabler". And yeah, you need to be rooted for it to work.
~Sankar
Market enabler has been around since the beginning of paid applications. A few seconds worth of google search would have revealed it. Paid applications are available EVERYWHERE.
Market Enabler has not been updated in a while... Try Market Access instead... it's a rewrite of Market Enabler and works great with Froyo... http://amip.tools-for.net/wiki/android/marketaccess
Yeah i do have market access, but the problem is when the google checkout screen comes after buy, my indian card is greyed out and there is an option to select another card but unfortunately there is no way to select India as the country.
So in my case, having only an indian credit card is impossible to buy apps.
Any workaroung guys other than getting myself a US applicable credit card
i bought 2 apps off the market using malaysian credit card with no problem.

i use market access to see the paid apps but you need to have a valid credit card associated with the country listed under google to buy them. Thats why my card is invalid

Yeah... But I was talking about google's announcement of market availability in 20 other countries including india.. They have announced it yesterday.. But I still can't see apps in market.
I received this email from the Android market. According to this it's over the next two weeks, so I would not worry quite yet.
"Hello,
We're writing to inform you about some changes to Android Market that require your attention.
Effective today, developers from 20 additional countries (Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Israel, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland and Taiwan) can now sell paid apps on Android Market. Over the next 2 weeks, users from 18 new countries (Argentina, Brazil, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Israel, Mexico, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, Sweden, and Taiwan) will be able to purchase paid apps from Android Market.
Please see the related post at Android Developer Blog here:

There is a workaround for this problem
1. Go to checkout.google.com on your PC & enter your primary Gmail account details.Make sure this account is also your primary account on your Android phone.
2. You can now register your credit card and also enter an Indian shipping address.
3. Now go to the list of providers in MarketAccess and select any provider.I chose the very 1st option T-Mobile US.
4. Once the SIM has been emulated, go to market. You should now be able to see paid apps.
5. Select any paid app which you want to buy and you will automatically be directed to the Google checkout option where your card will be listed.Select the card and proceed to buy the application.
6. Almost instantly you will receive an email from Google confirming your order details and the application will start downloading from market.
I have purchased about 8 apps from the market using this method right here from India. I am really happy that I am able to support the wonderful Android community by buying the apps. Hope you enjoy your paid apps
Hi Folks, I've scoured the forums but couldn't find anything on this already...
I got a phone sent to Australia from Handtec in the UK. I expected it to be UK regionalised, but thought that I could apply a WWE rom and change it. So much for that idea - it came with 1.32.405.6 and I applied the WWE of the same version, but still get "English (United Kingdom)" and some Euro languages only. Also the spoken-directions is enabled for the UK and it suggests I pay for the Australian one...
Is there a way I can set this as an Aus phone?
Much Thanks
Root and flash CM 6.1, that should give you a generic ROM . the navigation issue is that with Google NAV?
The x.x.405.x ROMs are stock european firmwares. The only Australian firmware is the one you get from Vodafone, and is branded. This is because Voda has carrier exclusivity here.
I got mine from Clove, and it came with the WWE ROM. I also got a free one month worldwide premium navigation from the Locations app. I downloaded the Australia map and I can get spoken driving directions. After one month though, I'll have to buy the directions license if I want to keep on using premium navigation. This is similar to everyone who bought their phones SIM-free. Google Navigation also now works in Australia thanks to their last update. I tried and works fine one mine, and is free.
You could try MoreLocale 2 from the market if you really want English (AUS) as the locale.
I installed the morelocale2 app which gave me more choice including English (Australia). I have a Vodafone branded DHD which came with with English (German) only and French/German.
I still havent removed the other Voda crap like Voda 360 music store or whatever that is.
PS: It was really annoying to see German language videos by default, on Youtube !!
I have installed MoreLocale 2 and it's the next best thing to having it like that natively, thank you! Content and searches are much more relevant now
I'll see how I go with Google's nav app, though I hear it could be worth buying Navigon or CoPilot... anyway, that's for another day.
Cheers

When you first powered it up did you select English (United Kingdom) and set all your settings to UK etc?
If so then I think when it returns to the UK the market will become UK.
As for the movies and books, not a clue!

Yes, when it booted up i select English (United Kingdom) the interface is in english and all, its just that the things that i got free are in french and the google play store is also in french.
Call Google Play support. They'll help you. If your Nexus 7 was rooted I could give you other instructions to get it working correctly.
Another thing you could try to do is set up a vpn so that your nexus 7 thinks you are back in the uk now. Search for free vpn and set up nexus 7 vpn.

Do you know where i can find a google play support number? i am trying to use this Click 2 Call service by google, but it is not letting me select a product.
The US number is all I have 1-855-836-3987. If you found the vpn software and hookup to a us router you could call this number. Remember though, this number is for the nexus and not the play store but I am pretty sure that they will answer your questions.

It should. Go and find out. Good luck.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
In my opinion yes.
When I use a VPN and connect to London, my Playstoreoffers British stuff and offers me the prices in British Pound.
Connect to USA and prices are in USD and I can buy American stuff.
Only when I connect to Germany, the Playstore is in French but Euro prices
