I've just noticed that my native Facebook for Sense app, as well as the Market, have disappeared from my FreshRom install.
Anybody else experiencing anything like this?
you could try re-flashing. or unzip the rom and push the .apk files you want/that didn't flash

Handcent is a known problem with Android Market - see here http://bbs.handcent.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1861. The Handcent developers have indicated the issue is with Android Market. There is a link for the .apk file at the link I listed.

I can see the font packs, not the app. What's going on? Have just restored latest ROM to my phone, is this related?
Yep. Dl'ed AppBrain last night and couldn't work out was going on as this was the first app I tried to install. Thought something was wrong with AppBrain... Only when I was sober, was I able to figure it out
Why has it been pulled?
I can see it on the market, running DeFrost ROM.
There was an Update today maybe thats why it wasn't visible
I am experiencing the same thing and I am kinda peeved! Using sms popup for now.
Im using an unlocked Desire Asian version and was wondering why I am still not getting any OTA updates. Are these problems connected in any way?
Also tried installing handcent sms from my sd card and it didn't work.
also can't see handcent :/
Handcent was missing yesterday too. Just falshed new ROM and now stuck with Chomp.
same here
anyone got a recent APK? I got one of rapidshare but it seems a bit buggy, would really appreciate latest version.
it's just a google-failure. give them some time to fix it
You can download the apk from the handcent forums for the time being

You can download the apk file there.
I unlocked the Aria (AT&T), rooted the phone and installed Froyo. Everything works fine with the exception that I lost some apps (quickoffice) that I do not know how to re-install it and that i cannot open any emailed appointments (.vcs or .ics).
What am i doing wrong, if anything?

for the most part htc apps are proprietary to sense and therefore htc products
I am not sure about the .vcs or .ics support but if you want to get the quickoffice app back you will need a nandroid backup or possibly the original att rom from HTC website And a program like unyaffs to extracted the proper *.apk file. Its pretty easy really. Once you have the .img file opened up with unyaffs you can look in /system/? for the app. Sorry cant remember the exact path at the moment.
Besides this I am sure there is a nice app in the market that would do what you want.

Neither could I but I opened an email with an excel sheet and I was able to open the file and look at it, don't see quickoffice in the apps sections but it seems it's in there.
Hi
I have a uk milestone and I messed up my android market
Can anyone upload his market apk and also market updater
please
Sent from my Milestone using XDA App
That is pretty much impossible because Google doesnt share the market app for download.. they have copyright on it or something like that, i dont know exactly the reason but you can always google it
Not an official google apk
U just need to pull the market apk from the /system/app directory it is called vending.apk and marketupdater.apk

I have uploaded the two apks from my Milestone. Let us know if they work.
Hi,
I don't know what happened with my market app. Before I rooted and installed GOT rom, I had seen that the market app had comments in another tab/button. Now after using GOT, I restored my phone to the latest original stock version (still rooted). I don't see that change any more
Anyone please confirm this?
Thanks!

otherwise you could've just gone on ROM Manager and downloaded the Gapps package under CM
Force Closing
I've downloaded and Installed the APK thru QuickOffice... but when I tried to download using the Market App, it is force closing... *sigh* now i'm thinking of buying and HTC or Samsung android phone.

That's not the latest market your stuck with the old version. But if you take the vending.apk file out of this archive and put it in with the gapps.zip: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9741682&postcount=56
then you have the new market and this one also adapts the language of the market to the language of the phone. Just installed and tested it.
Good luck with it
I do have problem with market (FC) after restore from Titanium Backup. Download Gapps package and update from OR is the fast and easy way to recover market.
I have a dark blue themed market that I downloaded from the fission rom manager. I was wondering if this would work on liberty. Has anyone else tried this?
All that is in the .zip file is the app. It doesn't change anything else to my knowledge.

Yes you shouldn't have any problems. The apk for the market should be independent... The only "catch" i can think of, is I'm not sure what images that the Market may pull from the framework... so you may see some images that are from Liberty (and any theme you may be using on liberty) along with the images that are found directly in the themed market.

So is there any chance that this could cause my phone to not be able to boot?
does anyone have another keyboard for the darkstone superRam v1.5?? because the actual keyboard is not really accurate..
Swift Key X Beta
I don't know about many keyboards but if you want to type fast without making errors then i would recommend SwiftKey X beta, its a free download from the android market. The reason i love to use it is because of its prediction system which learns from the way you type in facebook or other social networking sites which are supported.
Try it out and let me know if its good.
hey i like it but is there a way put import the sense keyboard from winmo to android?
download americandroid sd rom. in the folder apps you'l find htc imei keyboard apk which is similar to sense ones. maybe a strange recommendation but i did so

Put both on SD Card, enable installation of unsigned apps in Settings and then run both with any file manager. Hopefully will install.
