Rooting Parties please update us - XPERIA X10 General

Is there away that we can get a up todate report of what is going on, as far as this rooting X10A
word going around is that the pool of donations might be used for a dev phone, so what is really going on,
if all parties that are involved in the rooting process please comment on what is being done, and what can we do to help?
Thanks
Looks like rooting is so close but far away

What's it matter? It's not root, and there is not much level of progress usually

Another "Root-Progress" thread , yippiehhhh ... read all the other million development Threads and the Stickys than you should be up to date. Useless to open another Thread to make all more confusing.

I was thinking of a update thread so the devs can update us, thats all nothing to do with starting another thread

I personally need more files. More .sin files to be exact
I would need the following files:
From .007 firmware version:
boot.sin
loader.sin (for reflashing)
system.sin
data.sin
(no need for baseband/dsp)
.014
loader.sin
boot.sin
system.sin
data.sin
Developer firmwares / loaders or whatever you can find on you sonyericsson service center
Valid login for emma with most access you can get
Just joking on last one, but it would be beautiful
What I'm at:
On one side, trying to get a developer bootloader up & running
On the other front: trying to figure out a way of hijacking the drm or install server to get a shell
No success on any of those so far.. but those files would be really appreciated... regards!

biktor_gj I sent u a PM

so how would one go about getting these files from the 10A
From .007 firmware version:
boot.sin

.014

You can download R1FA014 (Generic EU) from here. Its in SEUS format so not sure how you can decompress it. If you find a tool to decompress it i would love to get my hands on it

[q] .sin_file_set

Does anyone know how to use these files to flash an R800a? Or is there some kind of tool to convert them to an ftf? I recently used an online service (DivinciTeam) to flash my phone back to a Rogers 2.3.2 firmware, these are the files that were used. I'd like to do a bit more experimenting with my phone but would like a way to go back to the Rogers 2.3.2 firmware (to keep root) without having to pay for the service every time. I know there is a generic UK 2.3.2 firmware, but that didn't seem to work for me (phone was constantly roaming when used that firmware). If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. Thanks.
Use flashtool and do a bundle creation and it should make the ftf out of those files but I'm not 100% I've only ever done it a couple times with my x10
* if that is gonna be the Rogers 2.3.2 upload it to the dev section please and thank you!*
Sent from my R800i using XDA App
sin_file_set can be unzipped with 7-Zip. Inside you'll find standard .sin files.
I've tried using flashtool to package it into an ftf, it goes through the decrypting but I end up with no files.
I will give 7-zip a go to see if I can get the .sin files out of it.
Yes, it is the Rogers 2.3.2. I will upload it if I get it working (don't have enough posts to post in the dev section).
UPDATE: Tried 7-zip, didn't work. Gave an error about it not being an archive.

Strange. You should be able to open sin_file_set with 7-Zip, unless Davinc Team uses special encryption on sin_file_set - I wouldn't be surprised if they did.
I guess thats always a possibility.
Anyway to get it directly off the phone? It still on 2.3.2.
Ok, I've uploaded the .SIN_FILE_SET if anyone wants to see if they can create an ftf out of them.

Tools Overview
Introduction
This video gives information about the basic tools for ROM development.
Tools will be uploaded once the tutorial is completed. And the links will be posted in 1st post. This tutorial is for all kinds of devices. No matter what your device is ... you can use this tutorial...
Though ftf files are only for Xperia devcies which are used in flashtool to flash stock ROMs to Xperia devices. If you have other device the don't get confused if you will not ftf file for your device.Try other sources to get system files.

Getting System Folder
Universal method for obtaining system folder (Root needed)This tutorial guides you how to extract system folder from .ftf packages and get system folder for your custom ROM easily.
For this we have used ftf extractor.
Though you can flash your device, install stock ROM root it and then copy all system file to SD Card and get the system folder. This is universal method and can be done easily using terminal emulator.
For this simply download Terminal Emulator from Android Market.
Install it on your freshly flashed device as stated above.
Open it and type:
su
This will give root permission to your terminal emulator.
Then type:
tar -c system/* >> sdcard/system.tar
This will copy all your /system folder to your SDcard with name System.tar
This will take some time to finish so be patient.
After it's done you should have a tar file in your /sdcard named system.tar
You can extract it using Winrar or 7zip software. But yes this will have huge size , as it has other useless folders so you will have to delete them. After extracting this system.tar file you will get following folders (Similar one)
Code:
/app
/bin
/etc
/fonts
/framework
/lib
[COLOR="Red"]/lost-found[/COLOR]
/media
[COLOR="Red"]/sd[/COLOR]
/semc
/usr
/xbin
build.prop
[COLOR="Red"]And some other files and folders like ""autorooted, kernel files" etc[/COLOR]
Now simply delete the folders marked in red color and its done.Don't worry if you don't have folders with red colors above,we don't need them.
And the final files that we will have in our system folders will be
Code:
/app
/bin
/etc
/fonts
/framework
/lib
/media
/semc
/usr
/xbin
build.prop
Now thats all...
Use this pre rooted ROM as your base now and have fun in tweaking and customizing .... Hope this is simplest method that you could ever find...

right you are
missing meta-inf/manifest.mf file that's why flashtool won't recognize as ftf
Thanks, i can make a zip flashable prerooted whit prf creator?
I'm repackaging same as @LadFromWales85. Let's see how it goes
Yes i upload wrong file sorry
Open ftf files with 7zip file manager
Open attached meta-inf.zip, extraxt meta-inf folder and copy to ftf files on 7zip.
Flashed now, without your META-INF, though I need to factory reset as I haven't done it since Lollipop and Google Play Services randomly force closes, as does Album.
I really don't want to though, as without USB mass storage access to the internal memory I can't correct the file modify time for pictures and they get sorted wrong in galleries. That and I'll have a Z5p soon so don't want to invest too much time fiddling with this!

Thanks!
yes you can.
i put the ftf file in the firmwear folder but the flash program wont recognize it
nvm i figured it out
Any available mirror op? just download the file via mega and it got stuck on 99%
After adding the missing Meta-File everything worked like a charm THANK You.
Fix file uploading mega and mirror, when done i will add first post.
how to add the meta-file. I opened in 7zip the ftf file and extracted the meta.zip file but i don't get any option to paste file inside the opened 7zip program
Still waiting for the Ota to arrive. Don't understand why it takes so long...

I will tell you how to do it for the modem, but the same applies for the bootloader as well.
You download the program i linked you and extract it in a folder on you C drive (example C:\img2tar ).
You open the firmware you downloaded from sammobile with winrar or 7zip.
You extract the modem.bin from inside.
You place the modem.bim inside the program's folder (example img2tar) and run the batch.bat
A file named modem.tar.md5 has been created.Flash that file via odin.

Awrsome man, nice job. It's really slow to download the whole firmware so theese tars are handy .
I didn't downloaded it yet but from its name i saw that on bootloader you packed only the sboot.bin.
If you look at my release and open the allfiles.tar.md5 with 7zip or winrar you will see two files inside : sboot.bin and cm.bin.
Those two files are needed for the boot loader.
Now to make those two files a single .tar.md5 you need to copy them both inside the program directory (example C:\img2tar)
Then you run the batch.bat file like normal.
This time you go inside the created folder mame AllFiles and there you have the allfiles.tar.md5 witch is the complete bootloader with both files inside (you can open it with winrar or 7zip to be sure)
I kinda forgot to tell you the method above.By the way it would be a bad idea to renane the files.

pls help me out guys
I downloaded a MM 6.0.1 ce1 region firmware from easy-firmware website but when Im trying to flash it flashtool gives a msg that those files are not in fsc script so they will be skipped! and it lists all the available files in ftf firmware!!
so when I accept it, it skips everything!
I checked in the ftf file and there is a default.fsc file in it, what is it?!

also when i try to creat ftf with flashtool it asks me to include fsc or not
what should I choose?!
im getting very confused here guys! help me out pls

Edit: Problem Solved! Afters searching a little more I found out that FSC script is a script required for 2015 and later phones that contrains flashing steps to be near or equal to sony's xperia companion
also after many try and fails, I realized that the default.fsc script in my 6.0.1 ftf firmware was somehow corrupted so I had to do this steps:
-extracting the .ftf file with 7zip
-deleting .fsc file from it
-selecting all other files and compressing again with 7zip with a name that ends with .ftf not .zip(not sure about this step being important but I did it anyway)
this was the only way flashtool would recognize my ftf file after modifying and the I flashed it and chose to use flashtools own fsc script and it worked out!

pls help me out guys
I downloaded a MM 6.0.1 ce1 region firmware from easy-firmware website but when Im trying to flash it flashtool gives a msg that those files are not in fsc script so they will be skipped! and it lists all the available files in ftf firmware!!
so when I accept it, it skips everything!
I checked in the ftf file and there is a default.fsc file in it, what is it?!
------
also when i try to creat ftf with flashtool it asks me to include fsc or not
what should I choose?!
im getting very confused here guys! help me out pls
