[Q] home switcher wont stick?

hi, im perm rooted with s=off and a clockwork recovery, when ever i default a launcher with the app "home switcher" it never sticks. i was wondering if anyone else has the same problem

Home switcher says right in the download that it doesn't work with Froyo... however, it does work with some ROMS better than others as I've been playing with on my Evo for about 4 months. Sometimes it acts just like you describe. Sometimes it lets me actually stick with a default. Blame the author... he isn't updating it.

Actually, it does work with Froyo even though it says that in the Market (that's probably the official line, so we can't ***** about it). If you read comments & online there are plenty confirmed working w/Froyo.
I had it on my MT4G and it worked fine until I permrooted w/S=OFF. Now any time the phone restarts I have to choose the default launcher again.
So, OP is correct, but since it's officially not supported... Glad you found an alternative.

Home Switcher has an app made for Froyo (HomeSwitcher for Froyo) I use it and it works very good. There is an added step to take before it sticks but it never fails.

Why do you need a home switcher? Its not hard to change defaults through your settings.

It's quicker

Just use home switcher switch to home u want then dl/ open titanium back up uninstall the desktop htc sense. Or freeze it problem should be fixed.

How To Get A Text Message Signature

Is there a way to put a text signature on the 3g slide . i cant find a setting for it . can anyone help

Yes, that its correct. I am currently using Handcent.

Handcent works and is by far the best texting app out there. Few bugs but nothing major and with the sync with facebook its really nice. Plus themes too. Anyways. Handcent has sigs you can put in. So have fun.

Just use the search bar. Type in 'new market' and it will pull up a bunch of threads with the .apk or install zip in it.

I did that but all i found is the apk for phones with hires. Not the screen size of the slide so it cuts off alot.

In this MTS forum there are at least 3 threads about it with links in them.

yea links to the app made for phones with a large screen. i installed them and it cuts off alot. so im looking for the version for the slide not the vibrant, mt4g etc...

No it's in the MT3GS forum, look for the thread titled something like 'market app 2.3' and you'll find the installer zip I put up on page 2 or 3 that you flash via clockwork. ALL market apk's have hdpi and mdpi files so they'll work. I tried both and they work perfectly.

4g icon

How can I put the 4G icon to my vibrant? I have stock froyo installed

I'd be interested to find this out as well.

Flash a custom rom. I recommend Bionix 1.3.1. Its the best out in my opinion. It gives you the "H" your looking for and is a very fast rom. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Trigger also has it and I think it is more accurate. I had bionx for over a week and alwayse had H. I was downtown and out of the city. With trigger it changes from H ((HSPA) T-mobile 4g) to 3g and also E. Also I like trigger better.

In themes and apps section is a theme that gives you the 4g icon bit that's all it is,is the icon so you can fake people out

Stop market from dropping icons on homescreen

Bugs me how when you install an app it automatically drops the app on your home screen. That can be changed (I wasn't aware after months of owning the the XOOM).

Open the Market app, go to My Apps screen, open menu, un-check Add shortcuts for new apps option.

I actually like that feature since I'm usually too lazy to add an icon to the home screen and I find it less annoying to delete unused icons than it is to add new ones.
