What does change in these radio versions? I never got that, there are many different versions but not really changelogs and i dont quite see any difference
2,11,50.20 and AT&T USA
Flashed few minutes ago. Reception on the AT&T network seem to be very good. No echo. Now the $1,000,000 question to answer- Battery drainage..
If it will be in the 4%-5% per hour, as 2.10.50.xx radios I had before- will keep it. Need some time before I know the answer..
GPS lock: First cols start took less than one minute, warm starts got a fix in less than 5 seconds. (I do use aGPS and allow location by cell tower).
2G speeds - slower than 2.10.xx.xx (I think)
3G speeds - untested.
it's for phone junkies..

You are right, there is no change log.. It is meant for phone junkies like me to try and compare performance.
Most radios will have about the same performance, and from experiance, it does not mean the latest verion is better than the previous. Most of the time those are small tweaks to adopt the phone to a specific carrier so diferent people get different results based on the service provider, not the radio..
How do you know what is better? By experimenting..
* Reception (how many bars)
* Call quality (Echo?)
* Battery drainage (%/hour)
* data speeds (2G, 3G)
* GPS fix time. (cold, warm)
Build yourself a table, try few and you have an answer, or a base line comparison between radios.
Enjoy, welcome to the world of the addictive phone forums..

If it is a question, i don't know sir ... i don't test radio in 10 minutes but HD2 boots and GPS, 3G, wifi and phone are ok for now
failed on my phone
Well, this sucks... Had to flash back to 2.10.50.28_2... Flash went ok, but phone won't get past boot screen now...

great, where can I grap it?
it's from the original china mobile P860, but i'm worried about the rip of 3G, because there is no 3G in China right now.
by the way, how to dump the radio existed in a phone, and write it back.

hi, dumping the OS means you dump the whole ROM. you can do that, and i'll help you to extract the radio out.
BTW, China has run 3G for quite a few years now. As a matter of fact, they've been testing the world's first 4G there!

just a fact i want to share. early this year o2 delayed shipping of the cruise because of radio issues. my O2-TC is performing great all the radio related tasks. So do not touch your radio.
touch the rest of your TC.

No, not quite. The phone was for the HK market, had Wifi installed in the ROM, but I wanted one with an English language ROM, but with support for traditional Chinese. The store I bought it from brand new in Shanghai flashed it with Bepe's ROM.
Confused yet?
The store says the reception is dodgy because China only has 2.5G coverage and I should switch to 2G mode while in-country. I think I would like to try another radio ROM if the success rate is high.

interessed too
I'm wondering also if 2.10 based custom ROMs work best with this radio or with the 2.10 radio.
tbh if in doubt stick with 2_09_51 for no 576MB. For 576MB then 2_01_50 - problem sorted.
I've found marginal differences between the two. Perhaps 2_09_50 adds something but it can't be a massive amount - not like the changes from earlier radios.

What marginal differences did you find? And are your findings based on disassembly or <20hrs of usage?
i just flashed 2.09.50.29_2 radio. My first impression was the change in 3g signal quality.
In my room,
Using 2.10 radio, my 3G signal is around 2-3 bar when I leave my phone on the table, and 1-2 bar when i hold it on my hand.
However with this radio, 3G signal is 3-4bars when I leave it on the the table, and 2-3 bars when phone is on my hand.
There seems to be a better signal quality, at least for my case.
Call quality seems alright.
Can't report on effect on battery life yet.
I installed this radio this morning, to test it - My first impression is that batterylife on it is very poor - I loose like 5% battery everytime i use the phone for sending a text message.. Went back to 2.09.51 version, a lot better battery on that... I even had to charge it this afternoon to keep it on..
There were so many advices on the radio version numbers..
xx.xx.50.xx - for HD2 Tmous
xx.xx.51.xx - for HD2 (classic, or original, or whatever - just HD2
The best advice - just do not mix radios with wrong HD2s. There are many stability issues. Also, that notorious 576 MB, which does not exist in reality on a classic HD2..

http://www.4shared.com/dir/RFg27UmU/Radios.html
WARNING- DO NOT USE 2.04.50.x OR 2.05.50.x - They WILL brick the tmous.
2.06.50.x
2.07.50.x
2.08.50.x
2.09.50.x
2.10.50.x
2.11.50.x
2.12.50.x
all work on tmous phones
I have 2.08.50.08_2
Is that a good version or should I switch to something else? Don't know if this effects it but my HD2 is unlocked on AT&T's service.
battery and signal results vary from person to person, phone to phone. you just have to suck it and see.
2.09.50
well i am using the 2.09.50 and seems to have a good signal and battery is good so far. will continue to test. will post my full opinion monday.

Also did not want to brick the device.
Edit: Nevermind
2.09 is the one released with 2.11 stock rom. i run this radio and reccomend it to match the 2.11 base in my rom.
So far it performs well in all respects.
i have been using Radio 2.10.50.08_2 and been getting excellent results. i run bt all day all night with 3g and i have 5 email accounts that send/receive every 5 min with all the other sense stuff running update as soon as possible and i am having my battery last all day compared to half a day.
if you want i will upload all the working TMOUS radios that are compatible so everyone can grab it from this section.

It doesn't even drain the battery faster.
I use 2.12 cause 2.14 had a lot of battery drain with my Rom and android build combo. I didn't notice any great reception improvements either. Try it and see what works for you,

2.14 it is then.

When you first turn on your phone, you will notice 3 lines of red text. One starts with an R: and next to that is your radio number. Alternatively in WinMo you can find it in the settings at the bottom in the software info!

If you haven't upgraded your radio it'd be a good idea. Better reception and battery life. And yea you could jus read the thread about flashing your first Rom. Or search the forums there should be loads of helpful threads.

Sound too loud in the earpiece
I recently installed NexusHD2-ICS-CM9-HWA V2.7 on my HTC HD2.
I love it.
But sometimes the voice in my incoming calls is too loud. It feels like the speakerphone is on and I cant turn it down to a reasonable level.
I understand the radio is what controls this issue, isnt it?
My current radio is 15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14. I understand it is the latest in this department.
Anything else could be the culprit?
