This may be a silly question, but if I were willing to forgo the benefits of the Sense UI, would it be possible to root my HTC Hero and install the stock Android operating system?
I would imagine that would enable me to upgrade the phone to the latest version of the OS without having to wait for HTC to update the Sense version?
there is (at least one!) a thread in the devs section about this.
Possibly not so. If you do succeed in having a virgin Android os on the hero, updates are posted over the air and your provider will not post to yours as you have a hero. I would also think that the flat file update would have to be modified as well.
is there any way possible that maybe samsungs bada OS would/could be ported to android devices , in the same way that we are able to run android on our WM devices or iPhones using bootlace or haRET, please, i like bada and my review wave unit was sent back and i have no money to buy a Wave ,so i want bada on android . I think I come to speak for all Brazilians have the Brazilian version of the SM-G7102 the SM-G7102t which is the version of the device with the built-in TV, but my request in the case would be for the help, the no TV device has several rom available to it do not work in with TV model (stay in bootloop) wanted to ask for porting the Cyanogenmod to our device since its release does not receive further updates and is on android 4.3 yet, a new rom that was faster and bring if the elements of a newer android for example eliminate up even buying a new device that for some can weigh in the pocket, I think that in our case and if anyone is interested please tell us, we would love one rom for our device , Grateful.
Hi guys,
in the last few days I had a look at various type of "chinese smartwatches" mounting Android Lollipop 5.1. I'd like to buy one of them for curiosity and for trying to build some apps.
I have a question about the software: as they mount Android Lollipop and not Android wear, is there the possibility that they will be updated, I think to Android 6.0 or something like that? Or better, is there any Android wear custom ROM to flash on them? Thank you for your replies guys
Update info
The update to Android marshmallow would be possible but I do not think any manufacturer decides to do an update, the smartwatch come out with Android lollipop to recycle code and have greater compatibility with older apps.
In future it may be possible to have a custom rom with android wear but will be a long and not compatible with all Chinese devices, when I have not seen a single port on a smartwatch that runs Android 5.1
I was just thinking, what if our developer gods make a old android port for s7edge i mean just for fun i guess
Android 4.4.4 for example
Or even the first android??
