[Q] about using the Rooting 2.1 Directly Thing

After all that method, do i need to partition my SD Card? its hard being a newbie and just merely reading diff thread and idk what to believe which among those methods works for real
Not so much to ask but can anyone Give me a complete step by step process? like after using the [Rooting 2.1 Directly] Method, what to do next? about the Partition of the SD card etc?TIA.
More power to XDA!
what about the partition?..dont quietly understand ur ques..what u want to do actually? want to root? and i dont think rooting need u to mess with sd card
LOL
erm my question is after using the [Rooting 2.1 Directly] from that thread<< what do i do next?
I strongly recommend installing xrecovery so you can backup your now rooted system for easy restore once you start playing around with other things like app2sd, JiT and maybe custom roms. But first of all... xrecovery --> backup.

help needed for rooting with gingerbreak!

hello everyone!
i am using a sgs gt-i9000 with 2.3.3
i want to root my device with gingerbreak v1.2
i read the instructions, but i still have some questions.
1. does the phone have to be connected to PC when i click the 'ROOT' button?
2. is an external sd-card necessary while rooting? (i generally don't use external sd card)
3. after rooting, all my internal memory apps and data will be deleted right?
i mean will only the apps be deleted or all my images and everything also?
Please help me! I want to get my phone rooted asap!
Thank you very much!
1) Use the CF-Root method to root your phone. PC connection is not needed as you will flash it in the recovery mode.
2) Nope, an external sd card is not needed as well.
3) Rooting your phone will not wipe any applications or data.

Hi, search here for CF-ROOT from ChainFire XXJVQ 2.3.3 if you are using it or enter in About Phone and search for your Firmware CF-ROOT, put phone in download mode and flash as PDA
Good Luck !

Firstly ROOT your device (beware of your warranty).
After you get your device rooted, search FOLDERMOUNT apps on the net.
Install, run, and GRANT SuperSU access.
Now you can easily make a "ghost" folder of internal to the external sd card (please make sure the name of th both folders are the same)
