apps2sd as update.zip - Desire Themes and Apps

Hi
I've donated to Modaco and cooked my Rom, flashed a different kernel and have a few mods running
Now I wanna run apps2sd but without reflashing everything again
Can someone please post a copy of apps2sd or apps2sd+ as an update I can flash without having to wipe?
I'm running mcr 3.1 thanks

Gumbo 1.5 + Modacos Custom Kernel

So I want to put gumbo 1.5 + modacos custom kernel on my phone but I don't want to wipe, or if I do wipe i want to keep all my apps. What is the optimal solution? Im rooted and I have modaco 2.0 on it right now. Help a newbie out
Oh yea by the way, is flashing a kernel the same procedure as flashing a rom? Thanks.

No...flashing a kernel only replaces the kernel portion of the ROM. The software and customizations remain intact.
I put Modaco's custom Rom over TTG 0.1.6 and Fresh 1.1 without issues.
I meant is it applied the same way. And I wanted to put Gumbos rom on it as I read thats fastest.

The dev who built that ROM also built a kernel that goes with it. If you want to flash the Gumbo ROM, then look into the Gumbo kernel as well. Theres nothin wrong Modacos though.

Oops...sorry, completely misread that.
Yes...it is applied the same way.
Apply the rom first, then the kernel. Otherwise the rom will overwrite the kernel.

Use titanium to backup all apps. You can get that from the market it's free.I use that myself and it's a great program
You don't need to wipe, just flash it over Gumbo.

[Q] Ginger Yoshi 1.4 - which one to flash?

Hi
I have a MyTouch 3G 32B, with 2.22.28.25 Radio.
I would +1 (My joke, all rights reserved ) to get the newest ginger yoshi, and I know how to get it, but in yohshua's folder on mediafire there are 2 files of ginger yoshi 1.4, one is regular and the other one is fix. Which one should I flash? Both? And what about the "update build prop" which also appears there?
Another question: Is there a newer and better kernel than ezBiffTestKernel20110222-2708_S for MyTouch 3G 32B 2.22.28.25? (I like ezterry's kernel, it is the best one I've ever used, but I want upgrades!)
Thanks!!
Flash 1.4 and if there are issues flash the fix
Ezterry has new 2.6.36.4 kernels. Check the ezgingerbread thread
Hello
Thank you tvall for helping me. I appreciate your help!
I wiped everything, and then I flashed the kernel and the rom, and I discovered that all my apps from the time I used Ginger yoshi 1.2 are still there, even though I have restored my MyTouch to stock rom after using 1.2. Maybe the reason is that the 1.4 rom was installed on ext partiton, just like the 1.2. Moreover, I discovered that the kernel version which can be found in "about phone" is the kernel of yoshi team, so the 1.4 zip file has this kernel in it and it just replaced the new ezterry's kernel.
Is it a good idea to flash the new ezterry's kernel instead? Should I wipe before flashing?
Thank you very much!

Um... huh? Nothing is installed on the ext partition except apps if the rom suports it.
I personally use ezterrys kernel (and his ezgb rom). If you want to use the kernel just flash it on to of the rom. No wiping required
Oh sorry I'm kind of noob so do not expect nothing from me at this time...
Thanks for your guidance! Now I have the best kernel and the best rom (in my opinion)

[Q] Lightspeed 1.0.7 ROM, CAN'T OVERCLOCK

Hi guys so I have a problem.
I downgraded my OTA 3.2 upgrade via "Method 2" which i'm sure you all know about. (Download update.zip and then flash to 3.0.1 and root)
Then I installed the LightSpeed 1.0.7 ROM and I flashed Thor v3.9R3 Kernel (for stock 3.2) and rebooted my device.
It works great only problem is I can't overclock which is what I wanted to do in the first place. I open setCPU and then go to "voltages" section yet it just force closes on me. I can't do anything about it.
What should I do? Install a different ROM and reflash the kernel? Or maybe flash a different kernel? Please help guys cause I really want to overclock it to around 1.4....
PS Newbie here so don't rage
well the ROM has nothing to do with overclocking the tablet. it is the kernel. i have never tried thor's kernel, I use taboonay's and it works wonders on my tablet. I would recommend it to you because it works and i can overclock to 1.64. try reflashing the kernel you have now. if that doesnt work, try another kernel

So would that mean the Taboonay v3.7? I tried that b4 flashing thor's and it didnt let me overclock. What else? Sorry for the stupid questions...

Also, I meant it says, setCPU has stopped unexpectedly.
Do you still have root? Did you wipe cache and dalvik cache before flashing kernel?
p.s. by the way Tabooney is a ROM name. Richardtrip's kernel is named "Villain iconia kernel".
either Toobany or Lightspeed, you can try to install Villain_iconia_kernel 3.7, this package will overclock your current ROM.

I have done as that, but now the problem is cm9 has no signal in this way
I'm have not tried to flash cm9 coming from miui.
I just did the usual way, wipe everything and then instal .zip from SD.
If you want to instal builds, newer than 111207 you need to flash 111207 first.
hope this helped, greetz Esok
edit: I also had problems with the net while using multiboot.
Newer builds 111207 cant be used with multiboot. But in my opinion 111211 is good enough to use everyday

[Q] Do anyone know what is the usage of kernel-milestone2-uk_2.2.1-froyo from tezet

After intalling CM10 by tezet, I find that I still prefer the CM7 by tezet. So I decide to install CM7 instead CM10. But when I installed CM10, I installed kernel-milestone2-cn-2.3.4-4.5.3.
So my question is that whether I need install kernel-milestone2-uk_2.2.1-froyo before installing CM7?
Thanks in advance.
same question here hope some one could shed some light.
before i went to cm10 i was on stock froyo though 2.2.
You should be able to flash CM7 with that chinese kernel you flashed, just remember to do a full backup and full wipe, you're downgrading.
Get the 2.2.1 UK kernel and put it in your SD card, just in case something goes wrong even if you get into bootloops you should be able to get to the bootmenu.
If you still cannot get into bootmenu, recover your phone with an SBF.
Good luck

Yes, you need to instal this kernel, else you stuck on boot logo. It looks like new CM7 builds doesn't contains kernel.

although someone has answered you question,I wanna answer that again.
Yes,you mus install it before installing CM7.Kernel is most important. The whole system is complied with special kernel Version.

I didn't include kernel not on purpose Will fix this next time...
I'm with the same question so correct me if i'm wrong,
For all who want to downgrade from cm10 to cm7 and are using CH-GB kernel have to:
1 - flash Froyo Kernel
2 - flash latest cm7
3 - install gapps
My question is, can I install this kernel by "install from zip" mode?
