Hello,
I've noticed that there are a few colours that could light up on the x10. I'm talking about the notification light (round) on top right. So far I've witnessed:
Green
Orange
Red
and Purple <-- some of you may have not seen this. I'm guessing there are much more colours just like the nexus one track ball which will soon be available for adjustment after root... or maybe SE will be using them after the new update.
I see the purple light when I get new posts on the app called "craigsnotifica"
Please let me know if you have witnessed any other colours.
Lol, this is a bit exciting as the possibilities of this phone seems endless once root is achieved.
Cheers,
Trojjan
I've seen blue when using ebuddy.

There is a app on the market that allows u to select any custom color for different notifications.
i think the apps name is blink flash led in your way.
it uses the RGB to generate any custom color.
cheers
Yeah the notilight can show any colour, except grey>black

My orange and yellow basically look the same.
The colour also changes as the charge level incresese.
so it goes from red when the battery is below 10% to very faint green then when its 100% charged it's a very bright green.
Found this from android forums by smg:
If you download the free app called "blink" from the market then you can set the led to lots of different colours for lots of different things like calls, texting, battery, memory etc.
Of the top of my head the colours you can set it too are:
Blue
Green
Red
Cyan
Purple
Orange
Pink
White
Yellow
This is pretty cool since now I can tell whether or not I missed a call or a text. Plus I get to play with the different cool colours.
Tried Blink app but IMHO it has limited functionality. Is there a way to turn the notification light on (in any color) for calendar reminders?
Our leds have various colours, but some things like light red and pink look exactly, use blink from market to change colours, its a free app, and use led tester (or sumtin) its also free and it shows you various colours you can use for on ur led, but its just a tester

So the specs noted that the LED notification light was "tri-color" but none of the reviews that I've seen have indicated if it's a true RGB LED capable of producing multiple colors. I'm so used to having different colors for different notifications on my N1, I'd hate to be limited to 3 colors on the Atrix.

Actually... All I've gotten is green.
blackberries also have a multi colored led but always shows red. Fortunately, there are apps (free and paid) that will let you tinker with it.
sure hope there will be one for this phone.
I think it has rgb, and then a white led
Its got a white led when charging, green for notifications, blue for calls, and red when theres a low battery. Use the app 'led tester' off the market to test the leds, its a pretty neat app. I like 'led disco' because it flashes all the colors and goes through them all. With the red, green, and blue led you can produce any color you want.

Yes, it doesn't work.
I have an atrix in my hand and I have seen 3 colors:
1. Green for messages and charging
2. Red for low battery
3. White - can't remember the condition
I have not seen blue. The Bravo does have blue though.

How in the heck did you get it to say low battery? O.O! You really like to abuse your gadgets don't you?!
I've been able to change my colors. Not sure to what extent you can though. I had pinkish for SMS but changed it to blue.
I always run my stuff down until it dies once every couple of months - i did the Atrix early.
So far battery life is great - i played with it all weekend and it is one solid phone.

Exactly. Even when I plug in my phone I don't see any light go on. :S
I'm using GoSMS which has an option to change the led color of it's capable.
I was able to see blue when connecting my bluetooth headset to it. It only flashes when it makes the initial connection.
So far I've seen red, blue, green, and a purpleish color. I came from my BB with the BeBuzz app, and it was easy to tell which one of my contacts were calling/texting me from the colors I had assigned.
I was able to use LED lights on Touchdown app..Blue, Red & of course Green.
Okay, let's try asking the question a different way to get an answer we all are looking for.... what FREE app works to change the color of the LEDs and isn't an add-on or skin to SMS or Email? I'm looking for something just like Blink that actually works for this phone!
EDIT - Well what do you know, it DOES work as long as you read the damn instructions! UNPLUG the phone.... click Menu > LED Manager > choose a color > check to test color > TURN OFF SCREEN ON PHONE...... all six colors - RED, GREEN, BLUE, YELLOW, PURPLE, and TURQUOISE all work when you follow those steps! Pretty awesome
<== can be an idiot sometimes....

Hi guys,
I just purchased 2 GS3's. One black and one titanium grey. On the 1st night i put then to charge i noticed the black phone's led was shining brighter (red) while charging but i though it might just look brighter as its on a darker surface. Then i noticed that the titanium grey GS3 was not displaying the correct colours for notifications. So i went into setting and changed the notification colours and realised all light colours were not displayed properly, for e.g.. white is displayed as a light blue.
Does anyone know a fix for this (bedsides taking it back as i got them both from abroad) ?
Had anyone else experienced something like this?
Also just to mention it seems like the on/off button has a different feel to it (does not have that click/spring) to it as the black GS3 and also the camera does not seem as sharp.
Any info will be appreciated !

Yes i agree there are 3 colours while charging.
While both phones were charging (red led) it was noticeably brighter on the black phone.
Concerning the white led light on whatsapp messenger its supposed to be white (i know you can change the colour in the app settings). On the grey phone it displays the white led light as a light blue. If i change the app notification colour to display a yellow led light it displays it in a greenish colour.
To cut a long story short the led notification light is not displaying the correct colours......
I have changed different custom Roms so i know its not software !

Try *#0*# on your titanium grey s3 and check if it displays the correct led
It's probably a mis-balance of the voltages to the LED. This could be a driver chip or resistor out of tolerance. Nothing you can do about it except replace the phone. I doubt that they would seriously consider exchanging it for a minor fault like this.

Thanks Vineet all working correctly.
OK i took both the black phone and grey phone and observed them both closely . I have realised that the led light on the black phone is visible when off but on the grey phone its nearly invisible when off. It seems they covered the led with the grey colour of the phone and maybe thats why it doesn't show the correct colours.
Im not sure if that makes sense, its hard to explain.
It would be nice if someone else with a grey S3 would comment.

Red, green and blue all display properly but not as bright as on the black phone. Its only the light colours that are not correct like white and yellow.
As stated above, after looking at similar threads, I still have no idea what the "stock" n4 lights represents. So far i have encountered all three but usually when I see the red or blue light I would restart the device and it would go away.
If anyone has any knowledge please let me know!
Much thanks!

As joshnichols said, it could be dependend in which apps you use. Whatsapp makes is glow green. In dev treads, they are also talking about the red light oft death. If it appears, your device might be (!) briked due to Software issues. Even if, many reports that they just put it on the charger and the red lod disappeared.

Just skip it and use light flow to make the led whatever you want at whatever flash rate you want
White is email or text message, blue is facebook, red is low battery, green is phone is connected to charger.
If you decide to use paranoid android you can set led colors and individual apps and how fast it blinks.

Hey guys...one of the most used and important features in any Android phone for me is the RGB notification LED.
The S4 and Nexus 5 had great ones...I'm a little worried about the very dull one on the S5.
I cannot get Light Flow to work at all...and while I know the S5 is really new...just a little troublesome...

It does have an RGB flash, tested colors with LED Tester app, but haven't set up Lightflow, which is often rather complicated. You may restart your phone after setting it up and see if it works properly.
I guess it's duller because the plastic over it is thicker due to the IP certification (?), now why isn't there a cutout for it like for the sensors is beyond me.
I find it bright enough, far better than whats on HTC phones. I can also see it from a 45 degree angle, the one on the s4 was better still but not complaining as it still does its job

All off the LightFlow app developer's websites/servers are down. Could you please give me the run-down on what you did to fix it? (I'm having the exact same problem).
I agree the LED is VERY dull, my sister just got the LG g2 and the led on it is beautiful very bright and vivid colours.
I've been looking for an answer to this but I haven't found any good one with a clear "NO" or "Yes".
Is it RGB, multicolor or some technology with more colors? Has someone tested it with light flow to see if you can control it or it is actually a RGB led but the software just let you use 2 of them for some reason?
I'd like to have at least 5 colors... It is weird to me to see that it only has green and red. To be an RGB it only lacks the blue one, which is really werid to me. I'm planning to buy the phone and since I had this LED on my Galaxy S3 back in the day I can't be without it.
Doesn't seem RGB to me, so far I have seen green and red from the notification LED.
Couldn't get another color to display with Light Flow app (I'm noob with it tho, I just installed to reply to you)
Ya, I can't get light Flow to work either....all I have seen is Red and Green. Someone said orange but I have yet to see it.

If it's got red and green, you can get orange. It's just probably not used in the ZTE software anywhere.
And RGB notification light isn't a fancy LED light any phone I know if, it's discrete R, G, and B diodes. Which is why you can really only get Red, Green, Blue, White, Yellow, Orange, and Purple on any phone.
Thank you for the information guys. I'll keep that in mind.

So it is definetly there right? Or maybe it is just a generic class for leds and they only use the ones they need (red and green). Would be nice to check if they can be activated via software in some way.

They shouldn't show up there if they aren't actual hardware, as those are created at runtime, I believe. I tried writing a value to the brightness, but it wouldn't let me (terminal user isn't part of the "system" group).
The LED testing app I was playing with couldn't activate it. So, no idea why it's not working.

Does it require the blink file to actually turn on though? I thought you just turn it to "on" with the brightness file? It still seems odd to only partially create the class (just like it seems odd to only have a RG LED if that's what they truly did).

Well, it is a small annoyance, but this phone was half the price of my other choice (Note 7). Also, it hasn't exploded, so that's a plus. It has better screen and audio than OP3, which was my third choice. So, I'd enjoy more notification light colors, but of things that were cut to save me $400, I'd vote for simpler LED light while keeping gorgeous screen and great sound any day.

Blimey - that's quite extreme! I personally only care if there is an led (one colour is fine for me) as I'm only interested to see if there's a notification - after that I pick up the phone to see what it is!
