Connect to SEUS like you have and allow/choose re-install. You have this option even though the software is the latest. Take the time to read that page slowly.

i bought one without a warranty for three months because SE sell X2 in May here. And few days ago i send it to SE, The SE Emma3 can't do anything...
So i get here for help, Xda help me,god doesn't do anything.
they should all have a warranty. doesnt matter where you get it from. any item you buy should have an automatic minimum 12 months manufacturers warranty. and since theyve only been making them about 6months theres no way sony can say the 12months are up... im sure the X2 actually has a 24 month manufacturers warranty. it most likely doesnt have a retailer warranty but sony still have to guarentee against manufactureing defects.
the only problem is they might claim its not a fault with the device but caused by the third party application being installed. so they will say its not their fault its stopped working and therefore not covered by the manufacturers warranty.
if emma cant force the firmware onto it and fix it then it doesnt sound very promising to be honest. it might not even be a software problem, maybe a chip or some ram died during the install.
Xmmmm.
The first and single SW release from SE with MR2 was R3AA35. Where did you find X2 with R3AA10? The issue you described looks like you installed SW with wrong certificate and Windows can't start some low level driver without correct certificate.

as i know the SW r3aa010 is for China Unicom
and many parallel import X2s get that version here
and why r3aa010 can't update to r3aa035 ?

Do you remember - was new Windows 6.5.3 UI installed together with your R3AA010 or "old" Windows 6.5.1 UI was integrated? Did you buy this unit in China Unicom office or is it some test unit provided for preliminary testing to China Unicom? It's something strange - nobody here say anything about MR2 ROM R3AA35 for China Unicom - so if you have got unit with model id for China Unicom with old RTL/MR1 SW you never find later MR2 SW for this model - so you can't update your unit.

Last week, T-Mobile offered me, to make a (so called) upgrade, which means to extend the contract for further 24 month and to get a new device/mobile phone (for low cost). Starting from October T-Mobile offers the old 64MB-MDA with Windows Mobile 2003 in German. The new MDAII will be available at the end of 2003, they said. So I hope the new software (WM2003_DE) will soon be available on T-Mobile's Website (http://t-mobile.de/mda).
#Christian
Its realy sad that t-mobile is not activly promoting the xda/mda here in usa. infact... most store workers know very little about it here.
i noticed o2.uk even advertise it on tv!
here... even the 24 hours support staff dont know much, they just replace with new unit everytime a software problem arouse.
believe it or not, this is my FIFTH ppc replacement!!
altho i HAVE figured out how to fix the dead media player problem,
they have not! but i still send it back every few months... for a 'scratchless' unit
if they are too dumb to know their product, i dont think there is anythin wrong with using their warranty to my advantage.
anyway... thanx for the reply
Sending it back?
How do you send it back? You call tech support? Give us a play by play, mine has some scratches on it too....
here is what happened.
first for real, but then i abused their ignorance!
my media player stoped working. when i launch it. it closes immediatly!
i called their tech support... they had me reset and try stuff, but nothin worked. so, naturaly, they'll say, we'll send a replacement.
but their replacement developed the same problem, and they
couldnt fix it. not over the phone anyway...
well after 3 replacements... i found out that it was fonix voice dial, and/or viavoice doin it, they were assigning functions to 4 keys, when xda only have 2 usable (calendar and contacts)
so.. media gets lost and closes.
you have to a registry editor to remove the 2 extra key assignment and that will fix it..
BUT! to get to the point... call and tell them u have this problem
and they wont be able to fix it. they'll just replace it!
make sure u reinstall the old 2002 that came with it.
not that they dont know that u changed it! every time u hard reset the device, it sends an SMS "[email protected],version #, date/time"

Does it really do that? Heck just take the SIM out when you do a hard reset.
HAHAHA
Really if they know that then they must have TONS of HTC Resetd from me.
interesting.
I updated my unit to a ROM kitchen version and frankly..
I helped somethings but I still have problems.
Im really waiting on the XDA II.
I hope we see it soon in the US.
Im on my 5th unit also..
But Im actually having problems.
I thought it was T-mobile or something but I got a T610 and I have two sims.
When I have problems calling out (voice or data) I immediately try with my T610. (guess what... no problems)
Im not sure why Im having such bad luck with the units..
maybe its the power supply..
they said they would send another..
I havent seen it yet..
hmm
gotta run ..
I need to call them
BeDammit!
of is it an opening for trouble?
im thinking of buying O2 exec coz its cheaper than i-mate and i've understood its unlocked.
However - If i understood correctly - O2 exec doest support all the things that the JasJar does.
like Msn Messanger / 3G / somthing like that.
Besides - I-mate release more frequent Rom updates...
Is there absoulutly no risk hazard??
10x a lot 4 ur answers,
any one?
over 50 people read this and also donno ??
I only just recieved my O2 XDA Exec today.
And just can`t wait for it to charge up...
If you can`t use the iMate updates & each reseller needs to release their own updates. We are in for alot of trouble...
HTC must realease updates as OEM and each reseller rebrands it for release.
Maybe..
Hi,
is it safe to travel by plane ? Under normal circumstances -> yes.
Just read the postings in the upgrade part of this forum, there are serveral people (including me) who made the update and who enjoy the new rom.
But .. nobody can give you 100% safety .. but .. i´d give you 99.5 % ;-)
-. Superbówl
Their must be a standard offical method of doing updates.
Otherwise they may complain when it comes down to warranty repairs.
Hi all,
I would be buying a HTC P3600 in Dubai soon. The HTC site and the dealers here say that the trinity does not have a GPS.
Have read on this forum that having GPS is just a ROM update away. Having said that, how difficult (or easy) is it to flash the phone considering that I am an abject novice with PPC?
I would also love to have WM6 (with GPS ofcourse) on my phone. I know there is a ROM floating around this forum.
Here in Dubai we are not bound to any service providers so I will be buying an unlocked phone, so will the updated ROM work in my case?
Looking forward to the replies and do keep up the excellent work. This forum is one of the driving factors behind my decision to buy an HTC phone.
Warm regards,
Hiren

Great, now I look forward to buying the phone. Will keep the forum posted on my progress or lack of it .
I confirm there's no problem at all, even for non experts like me.
Just download the new rom from HTC site (50 MB), connect the P3600 , run the downloaded file and wait 10 minutes.
The only advise is to do a back-up of your P3600, as the upgrade will cancell everything.

This is sounding great. Thanks for the help mate.

If you buy a new Trinity/P3600 now, it may well come with GPS enabled anyway.
When you get it, tap Start/Settings, then the System tab (bottom of the settings screen) and then tap Device Information.
The 1st tab in Devcie Info is 'Version' and has a list of the ROM versions installed. Look at the Radio Version: if it ends in **.11, the GPS is already enabled. HTC's current ROM is 1.38.00.11, but ROM's from 1.30.00.11 were GPS enabled. If yours ends in **.10, then you need to update the Radio ROM.
Before going any further, and changing to WM6, which is still 'unofficial' and invalidates your warranty, I'd suggest getting familiar with the device and the OS. The differences between later versions of WM5 and WM6 are minimal!

Managed to check out the ROM of the Trinity's available in Dubai, its ending with .11, so that means its a GPS enabled one.
Now only if I had an idea about the other phones issues, I'd go out and buy one.

2 of 'em actually. One is the motherboard and the other is the flaking paints.
I don't have long nails but I did try scratching the phone at the store but the paint did not chip off.
My heart is still set on this phone though. I will soon be going back to India (another couple of months) and I'm not sure whether 2 months are enough to get the issues fixed. The other alternative would be to wait for the Kaiser but time frame is still unknown.
Regards
For what concerns the paint, buy it white, it is not as beautiful as the black one, but at least it does not have this problem

Yeah, thats an option but only as a last resort.
Please post where you like (rapidshare,...), this dutch rom was installed on my device and now i need it to return to basics.
HTC should give people a backupcd, like when you buy a pc, you get oem Windows. I don't understand why i cannot find it online anywhere, they throw roms to your head at the carriers O2, T-Mobile,....
And totally no support, even no download when registered on HTC site
I think I have more support from XDA forum users than from the company i paid the HTC for... cannot wait till September for WM6 dutch (if not delayed as usual). 1 month without GSM & GPS is impossible.
i bricked mine the first time.
brought it back to the phone shop with the massage "it is broke"
they have repaired without any questions
no such service from your provider?
Slow repair service
Yes, i bricked it also first, rom number was original on startup screen, now it's the 3.7.0000. Received it repaired also without questions, but took 6 weeks, by then the WM6 dutch should be out

Hi,
I would like to know, how can I check MR2 upgrade availability for my region (UAE)?
Note - I have MR1 on my X2 and I have tried to upgrade it to MR2 using SE update service but it says that my X2 is already updated!
Thanks
That means no update in your region yet.
Keep checking, sure it will be there soon.
regards
Javier.
MR2 is still not out for Norway.
I wonder if there is an easier way to find out when it arrives than having to remove the battery, run SEUS program, connect USB, press volume down and power e.t.c.?
Are the updates announced somewhere?

Ask your local support centre. Demand to speak to a manager if the person on the phone cant answer you and ask them, I am sure they will will actually check for you then. As I said before, that's how I got my answer... but he said Nordic, so that includes you... maybe they are having a delay in translation
