Sorted my issue from my previous thread thanks to this fellow.
Now I just need to flash Donut to the G1. Stock Donut, without a custom recovery or SPL; I want to sell the thing factory fresh.
I have it SIM unlocked and communicating with other networks over 3G, but the SIM cards I have available are from networks that don't carry the G1, and therefore do not do over-the-air updates for it. What are my options?
EDIT: DISREGARD THAT I SU-
The thing prompted me to update as I was posting this.

I have a Verizon 6900 and made a mistake flashing to OMJ.3.09.01.Custom. During the intermediate step when I flashed to the Official Bell rom to update radio, I allowed it to customize and am experiencing problems with the phone. I understand there is no original Verizon rom to roll back to. Anyway out of this situation?
Thanks

If you put your phone in airplane mode then run radiorefurbishe.exe/refurbish through a command prompt then reboot and then do the *228 update option 2 and you should be fine.
How do I access the command prompt to run the radiorefurbish?
bump.. just curious
I did the same exact thing. I successfully restored my phone by doing the following
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=33937
Afterward you will need to hard reset your phone and use *228. Then probably call Verizon and have them re-authenticate your phone.
Hi, using a custom ion rom on my vodafone magic (unlocked).
Recently ported my number to t-mobile uk and today put the sim in.
All my apps broke and lost settings.
I did a wipe hard reset and I am still missing the gmail app (shows a box and says app is not installed).
Anyone else experience this?
Factory wipe.
If you've done this procedure already.
Might I suggest possibly ROOTING your phone for the sake of being able to install a custom ROM...not to mention being able to have that GMail application pushed to your phone from that packaged update.
Just a suggestion.
As for the SIM card switch being the potential cause of that issue. That is highly unlikely that it would REMOVE or corrupt the application. However, your SIM card is linked to the service, the service links the data, and the data is used by Google to forward their servers to a mobile device. It could be a number of things really.
I would try and wipe, reboot, and then go from there.
Hi, the phone was already rooted.
Anyway, I decided I needed something working so flashed a Hero ported rom, and lo and behold it is pretty slow.
Guess I'll be looking for some ion/magic roms.
Hi, I have a rooted G1 running a CyanogenMod rom and some theme or other (I think it is AeoroBlack or something like that?) Anyway, I've been having some issues with my phone being able to connect to T-Mobile's network, both the data (both Edge and 3G) and the phone signal. I've done some troubleshooting on my own and with tmob tech support over the phone, and it's at the point that my next step is to do a "sim swap." there is a very good chance, though, that I'm going to have to take it into a T-Mobile store sometime soon, either to get a replacement G1 or a new sim card. My question is, if I shop up with a rooted, modded, and themed G1, are they just going to tell me I'm S.O.L., and I voided the warranty? Even though it is still under HTC's warranty, and I have T-Mobiles equipment protection plan? My question is, if I do bring it in, should I switch it over to T-Mobile's official build before doing so? If so, is there an easy way to get everything back to the way I have it after I'm done with them, or if I get a new phone? Thanks for your help!!!
I would just leave your phone in the car and take in the sd. If the new SD doesnt fix it then I would think about unrooting it.
Have you tried doing a wipe and reinstalling your ROM yet?
When you say sd, you mean sim, right? Also, I haven't tried wiping yet, I was about to upgrade to the newest cm rom anyway, which requires wiping. If I do that, will a nandroid backup save all my stuff, or will that take me back to the old rom? I am still unclear on how nandroid works. If I install nandroid, I have to install adb, a new radio, and fastboot too, right? Thanks again for all the help!
I work for tmobile
I work in a t-mobile store and if u come in with a rooted phone I would high-five you! but u should be fine if it is just a SIM swap. if anyone asks about the theme just say it is Fresh Face or what ever it is call(it is an app in the T-mobile app pack). Now as for getting a new phone you will prob have to send it in, but for a SIM swap they shouldn't give u any trouble after the initial troubleshooting questions. Point is most t-mobile employees wouldn't know a rooted phone if it hit them in the face.
I did a SIM swap without having to remove root, but the reps did tell me they could exchange my phone unless it was running stock ROM. I had to remove root before I could get my phone warrantied.
Hello, currently I have a Lg gt540f from a friend. He requested me to change the OS to CyanogenMod. This is a mexican phone, from the company Telcel. He wants to free the phone in order to use it with other carriers.
I already flashed ClockworkMod Recovery 2.5.1.8 and CyanogenMod 2.2, I think this is the 6.1. However after doing this I keep getting no cellphone signal at all. I changed the APN to the carrier's one and the issue continued. I've changed Sim cards, and tried them on different phones and they all work, except on this one. This makes me think the problem is the baseband I have on this OS. So I upgraded to CM 7 with the same result. After doing this I cleared the Dalvik cache and reinstall the ClockworkMod Recovery 2.5.1.8 and CyanogenMod 2.2 downloaded from a different link, but issue continues.
I've read about this on other phones like Motorola Droid, and what they do to fix this issue is to change the baseband to telus or argentina personal. Both of them are quadband with 850/1900 that I need. They do this by loading a Recovery name Androidiani, however I haven't been able to find it for this cellphone.
Is there another way I can change this baseband?? And could you help me a little explaining me the steps? I'm actually new at playing with Android phones and flashing them.
Thank you for your time.
Hello, I found the answer to my problem.
Actually the cyanogenmod I'm using is band compatible with the phone. This is because this CM version is quadband which includes the bands I needed. My problem was actually that I thought that by flashing a custome ROM I will be setting the Radio into S-OFF, automaticly unlocking my carrier phone restrictions. But I was wrong. Some Android devices you can just flash a new kernel, gain temp root access and swith the carrier radio into S-OFF, however this phone is not the case. To erase my carrier restictions I had to purchuse a unlock code and insert it on the phone. This is done with the IMEI.
Thank you for your time.
Hey all,
So, a little backstory: I got this HTC 10 from Sprint not too long ago, and little did I know that I would be stuck with Sprint unless I reflash the phone firmware. (after research, asking HTC and Sprint, I received misinformation from reps stating that the phone would work on Verizon with just a carrier unlock issued over the air). Moral of the story: don't rely on customer service :silly:.
Fast forward to now, and I have rooted (temporarily to run Sunshine), S-OFF'd (using Sunshine), changed the CID (for Verizon), and flashed the newest Verizon RUU that developer Dottat kindly posted here.
That worked, full LTE, but then whenever the camera or GPS were accessed by any application, the phone would freeze with a black screen (though it seemed something was still running in the background, as notification sounds would still play, and I could exit by pressing the home button and waiting about a minute). After this, I tried flashing the Viper ROM just for kicks, but then the cellular radios only functioned with 3G coverage (no LTE in a coverage area), and GPS was still broken (the camera issue was fixed with this flash for some reason).
Unfortunately (or maybe not), I am pretty sure /system has been wiped multiple times. I also ran
Code:
htc_fastboot erase modemst1
htc_fastboot erase modemst2
after each install of a new ROM, then performed a factory reset from recovery (just a factory reset, nothing more).
Now I went ahead and used an official ROM from HTC's website in an attempt just to get full functionality working on any carrier. I flashed the USA unlocked variant (and changed the CID to BS_US001. MID is still 2PS650000), but now I am experiencing more missing functionality. The camera and GPS are still missing, and now the SIM card is not detected (when entering the access point names dialog, a message pops up stating that there is no SIM, or SIM error when I am using an activated AT&T SIM). When I enter the test menu (*#*#4636#*#*) and select any option for network mode other than what is default (LTE/CDMA), the new option won't 'stick' (it returns to default after a few seconds).
This sounds to me like there is stale firmware on the device from a previous flash, or that the firmware for these core peripherals is corrupt. Is there a way I can get these devices working again? Or am I now stuck with a bricked device ? I do still have a backup I took of what was installed stock by Sprint (all except for /data...but I don't need that partition, right?)
EDIT: Mods, I am terribly sorry! I meant to post this in HTC 10 Q&A. I don't see a way to delete a thread, so hopefully we can move it.

A MOD should move it soon.
I am not the best here, but hopefully can be of some help.
I would just superCID, save a step for flashing RUU's.
So, when you flash the Verizon RUU, does camera work?
(if you RUU and only have 3g, wipe the modems to get 4g back)
If your trying to use the phone on Verizon I would do the following:
1) Change your CID to Super, 11111111
2) Flash the US Unlocked RUU, http://www.htc.com/us/support/rom-downloads.html#unlocked
3) After it fully boots, reboot into the bootloader & flash the Verizon radio, http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-htc-10/how-to/vzw-how-to-unlocked-model-vzw-t3376743
4) Make sure the Preferred Network is set to Global, Settings>Mobile data>Preferred Network
5) Get to the secret menu *#*#4636#*#*, and set the preferred network type to "CDMA/EvDO/GSM/WCDMA/LTE Auto"
I use a Verizon model with the US Unlocked firmware. As far as custom ROMs, some work with Verizon's network and some don't. I'm sure theres a workaround but I've stuck with the US Unlocked firmware, and just use Xposed for any tweaks/mods.
If your trying to use it on AT&T and the radio from the US unlocked RUU should work.
