Is there a way to change the image for the bar on the bottom with the phone, app drawer, and add button without root? If so can someone please tell me what files I have to change.

you can download helix launcher 2 or launcherpro from the market.
Launcher pro is actually pretty awesome

Yes you can, just download a different launcher. I would also recommend launcher pro.
I'm actually using launcher pro but after my Eris and now my Incredible I'm kinda fond of the sense ui plus I like the widgets.

is there anyway to use the sense widgets if youre using launcher pro?
There is a 'sort of' way to use one sense widget with launcher pro.
There is a widget called 'fancy widget' in the market. It looks identical to the sense flip clock with weather. I use it with launcher pro, and it looks great.

Are there any launchers that can give the Droid X the "pinch-helicopter view" as seen on HTC devices?

Oh bless you! I went from the DInc to the DX. HTC murders Motorola when it comes to clocks and widgets.

Agree'd. The ninjaBlur widgets are definitely an improvement, but the more "serious" tone of the HTC widgets is still unmatched by anyone imo.

HTC's forced this off the web, but you can get it via a torrent. This is exactly what my phone needed. A nice big clock with live, location weather. Why can't everyone just use Sense or Google?
I prefer beautiful widgets over fancy widget.
Sent from my Evo 4G using XDA App
I haven't tried Fancy Widget, but I'm using Beautiful Widgets, and it's pretty customizable with lots of skins. I'm running a TF2-themed phone right now
Hello. Newb alert ..Is there any way out there to change the color background on my shade?
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA Premium App
What exactly do you mean by shade?
Perhaps you mean notification drawer?
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
If you do mean notification drawer then yes just flash a theme
Thx guys ya I meant notification drawer, any dark themes for the x you know of ? I came from the first droid things were a little easier with a unlocked bootloader...
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA Premium App
I'm not too sure about many of the custom themes out there, but Gingerbread themes are dark. I just prefer the look and feel of Gingerbread so I use that kind of theme pretty much exclusively.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
It really depends on what rom you are using. If you could tell me which one you're using I could point you in the right direction.
Personally I'd recommend installing liberty and flashing a theme through the toolbox. There's a bunch of them all with screenshots right there. And it installs them for you
Thanks guys actually I was doing a little research and came across Chevy,s Simply Stunning x v1.1 and I love it, I used allot of his hard work with my original droid

I'm looking for any good lockscreen widgets people have found that are compatible with 4.2s new lockscreen. I'm thinking a good clock with unread counters on it.
So far I've only found "fixed 4.2 clock" which gives you a centered clock without the bold text.

I installed Action Launcher and it has an amazing quick search app widget that is built in.
I would like to use another launcher, but can't find another quick search like this. Using Google Search takes me to a new window and performs more searches than I need.
Does anyone know of a widget that can do just app searches that I can place on my launcher and do 1 second searches?

Thanks. I installed it, and while it is REALLY fast, it still takes u to a separate screen for the searches. I am looking for a dropdown search that stays in the widget on the home screen.
oh.maybe this one can do the job:

That's ok. I appreciate the help! And I'm gonna keep Conjure as it's a REALLY fast search.. but still looking for that illusive search widget!
I know you guys have done some nice improvements since the release of root, now it's time to show off. Here's minds no root.

Action Launcher 2 was so amazing. Then the developer decided to charge for Action Launcher 3 which was released a month later while removing the features I liked best. What can you do? Anyhow, this is as minimal as I can get it while being completely functional.
