... if I change the Bootanimation, there is no more sound.
I found out that a custom bootupsound only plays with the original bootanimation.zip.
This is what I posted in the MoDaCo-Forums (running on MoDaCo-Rom. )
What we need is all here:
/system/customize/resource/
-> bootanimation.zip
-> android_audio.zip
Now I found out, only the HTC Bootupanimation works. I dunno how to build these ZIPs, I worked with HxD and found nothing in the ZIP-Header.
I think it is something with the desc.txt and the filenames of the PNGs.
This mean that:
desc.txt:
480 800 15
p 1 1 android
Filename:
wvga_htc_bootup_android_104f_15fps_005spf 01.png
wvga -> Screenresolution
htc -> yeah, you know.
bootup -> maybe its' there because it's in the bootupanimation? ;D
android -> folder, bootupanimation.zip has only the folder android -> look in the desc.txt above
104f -> Maybe Frames? I have only 78 Frames in the HTC-Bootup
15fps -> desc.txt -> the Frames per Seconds
005spf -> Dunno. SoundPerFile?
01 -> Frame. ...
Now I need help. I know: Other Bootanimations doesn't play sounds.
No Animations play sounds.
HTC Animation play a sound too.
Anyone build Bootanimations? Any Help? Maybe we can f*ck this file, and build awesome animations with SUPER GREAT SOUNDS.
€: After pushing the original cyanogenmod-Bootanimation-PNGs with new Name (them from the HTC-Bootanimation) it does nothing. Only a black screen.
With the desc.txt from HTC-Bootanimation pushing in the CY-Bootanimation plays, but comes with no sound.
It's a mysterious for me why the hell the HTC-Bootanimation plays this fkkn' Sound, and other Bootanimations not. God dammnit.

You read nothing, or?
It's not the problem with the sound - it's the problem to have sound with different Bootscreens!

Is there a solution as of now. A quick search didnt turn up anything. There is a kitchen to mod anything but the sound. Wondered if anyone knows to insert boot sounds..
The android_audio should be .mp3 not :zip

You only can't change Buttons (Yes/No).
Check this my custom theme on attachment.
where should i copy this files, in win root?
any pics?
It was Kitchmen package, but you can install it manually.
Extract it, copy files in \amarullz_GreenBlack\files\*.* into \Windows
And change your themes in Start Menu->Settings->Today
i am also using visual kitchen, will put it in...
EDIT: well only thing i got new is scroll bar, and green selecting, can i somehow keep scrollbar and have blue selecting?
also how to get vista/win7 wait animation?

You can edit the Images. There is "listViewSelector.ManilaGreen.png" and other files ( I think you know the image will show in which area just by read the filename ). For system color, you should edit the ClassicGreen.tsk file with WinCECab Manager.
For your message box design, you can easily edit the "msgboxBorder.ManilaGreen.png", and "msgboxTitle.ManilaGreen.png".
For vista wait animation, you need to edit the dll file with reshack, try to find it, it was available in some thread..
sorry for my english
i will try "msgboxBorder.ManilaGreen.png", and "msgboxTitle.ManilaGreen.png".
but for dll, i will need to request....

Install instructions (must be rooted):
Place contents of shutdown.zip in directory: /system/media/video/shutdown
Place contents of shutdown_128.zip in directory: /system/media/audio/ui
easiest way to do it is through root explorer. Try this animation out and let me know what you think, I'm also working on a few more
wrong section.. this belongs in the Theme & Apps forum but this looks pretty good.

thanks, I did a serach for shutdown animation and all the posts were on general so I put it here
Hey I like it. Better than that pink flying around the screen crap.
Didn't work for me. Contents where they belong but the phone just shuts down normally, no new sound or animation
Didn't work for me either...
It looks like it should, but like the previous post, it just shuts down with no animation and no sound.
how are you guys getting the files in the directory?
More detailed explanation please
Hello,
I would like to put this shutdown on my vibrant. I am running Bionix 1.3.1.
I have changed boot animations many times but never shutdown animations.
Can someone give more detailed instructions please? Do I replace these entire folders with the new folders? These are zip files so should I flash through recovery?
Confused at the moment.
Or, does anyone have any great shutdown animations for Bionixx 1.3.1?
Thanks for your help.
You will also need a kerel that supports bootanimations and shutdown ones too. I found that out just recently myself as I was throwing some metroid icons and animations onto my phone.
Kernel?
I know that I can change my bootanimation, never tried to change the shutdown one.
Follow the op's instructions ...if you copy the folder then you will need to make it lower case.....also if running a custom kernel you wont get sound
Got it working I much prefer it over original bionix 1.3.1 shutdown

Hey all,
I'm sorry if this is a rehash of somebody else's problem, but I did some searching and couldn't find anything that seemed applicable to my situation.
Running Nexus S with cyanogenmod 7.1.0.1, downloaded from http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?type=stable&device=crespo
I am also running the latest ClockworkMod Recovery, having just updated it today. I updated via the internal update function on ROM manager.
Everything is working find, except that no matter what I do, boot animations don't run, and I get a black screen instead. The only time I didn't have a black screen was the first bootup after installing cyanogenmod update from sdcard via clockwork. This showed the default bootanimation. I then attempted to install the Speedo II animation from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1053250
Immediately after, I only got a black screen on bootup. I tried flashing the bluehallway animation (also from same gallery). I then tried using SDK to push both animations to the phone at /system/media. Neither worked. I also tried to use ES file manager to swap out the bootanimation files in /system/media/ manually. Neither worked.
I then re installed CyanogenMod and repeated the steps listed above. Same result.
As far as I can tell, I have been undergoing the same procedure as when I changed my bootanimation to red rage (don't remember where I got it) On a previous version of CyanogenMod.
I have no idea what the problem is. Please help!
Sounds like it wasn't compressed properly
choose STORE in compress method when zipping back your animation sounds like they chose normal compression and this causes the desc and bootanimation not to work and all you get is blakcscreen
anyways try flashing mine
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1471708
Welp, that works perfectly. Thanks a ton! So could you explain the whole compression thing you talked about?
when you compress the boot animation back up it will be on normal compression by default you don't want this. You have to select store

if you're installing them in /system/media/ make sure to not have any bootanimation.zip in /data/local/ because that's where the system look up first
Stock is too bright and shows too much color banding
Adjusted the gamma on the images. Made darker and colors little more vibrant
Install:
Flash threw CWR
Alternate install methods [root required]
Use the bootanimation.zip below
Place in data/local folder then reboot
no need to set permissions leave as is
this will bypass default animation and when you want to revert back simply delete from local folder and will default back to stock
one thank to me for resize
a lot of thanks to demo23019 for this great work(for the nexus s device)

I felt the same way. Thank you very much, its perfect.
Yes its good and its work thanks
For those of you on MIUI like me, I'll provide the steps to install it.
1. Download the boot-file.zip containing the "bootanimation" file.
2. Extract the file and place it in system/bin, replacing the old boot animation file (make sure there is no extension at the end, just bootanimation)
3. Give it the permissions using Root Explorer or equivalent: rwx-rx-rx (rwxrxrx)
4. Download ics_tweaked.mtz and place it in sdcard/MIUI/themes
5. Reboot, and them go Settings>Themes>Customize>Boot Animation> The new animation should be there.
6. Select it, Reboot, and Enjoy!
NOTE. If it isn't there, look at all the boot animations that are there, if there is one with no preview, select that one. That should be one containing the new animation.
*DISCLAIMER* This method worked for me and results may vary.
Works flawlessly, thanks.
Great boot animation and very easy to install.

Will this work on the Rezound I would really like this one looks nice.
When start booting animation little bit laging, but later everything ok. Best boot animation for me.
Thanks for this great animation, works like a charm
I'm trying to make a bootanimation but isn't working :/...what i did wrong?
When i boot my phone, the screen is black a little time and then the launcher appears... idk why the bootanimation isn't working, maybe the pictures doesn't have the proper".png" compression? and the zip file's compression is set to "store"
I know that the zip is pretty large..45mb.. the bootanimation should be about 5 seconds at 30 fps
Can you check the zip and tell me if i did something wrong? Thanks
bootanimation
Edit: so..i researched a little bit and i see that somehow the "desc" file is overwrited from some place:/..i mean the phone doesn't run a standard bootanimation..for example if i have multiple folders: part0, part1, part2, part3, part4, etc. just part1 it will run(and maybe it will result in a bootloop..this hapened to me---- but if i use just part0 and part1 it will run part1 and no bootloop) and i think it only runs at 15fps..i tried 30 but is the same like 15..i have 150 photos at 30 fps, that should take like 5 seconds but it takes more :/
I'm using Cloudy G3 ROM
I tried it on CM11, and here it works even if the folder is named "part0" or whatever, but its still not runing at 30fps..maybe because the resolution is big :/
Edit2: so..i made it functional for CM11, but its still isn't working at real fps..there's 4 folders with 30 photos each folder..and in desc file i set the fps at 30 but the animation is slower than 30fps :/...any ideas?..here's the bootanimation
Edit3: yeap...so i managed it somehow.. i think the pictures were too big and the phone can't load them at the real speed..so i converted them to jpg reducing the file size from 45mb to 12.. and i find out that Cyanogenmod doesn't support bootanimation sounds
Guys, i present to you: Persona 3 Dark Hour bootanimation
