[fixed] market not downloading apps, after nandroid restore - Nexus One General

Hi,
i've tried froyo, so i booted into recovery, maked a nandroid backup from my cyanogen 5.0.6, flashed the froyo update.zip from modaco, tested and decided to go back. So i restored my nandroid backup, everything seems fine, but, i can't download apps from the market, if i do so they stand still on the status: download will start....
logcat says following:
I/ActivityManager( 112): Starting activity: Intent { act=android.intent.action.VIEW cmp=com.android.vending/.AssetPermissionsSubActivity (has extras) }
W/InputManagerService( 112): Window already focused, ignoring focus gain of: [email protected]
I/ActivityManager( 112): Displayed activity com.android.vending/.AssetPermissionsSubActivity: 325 ms (total 325 ms)
I/NotificationService( 112): enqueueToast pkg=com.android.vending [email protected] duration=1
I/vending ( 4698): com.android.vending.api.RequestDispatcher$RequestContext.<init>(): Some requests use secure token but dont require SSL. Forcing SSL.
hope someone can help
thx

I have exactly the same problem.... .so you can take some comfort in knowing you are not alone

HAVE you tried
clearing the Market cache and uninstalling the Market update in settings-applications? That solved the problem for me.

Thanks for the advice hobbescs.... but didn't solve the problem for me.

I had the same problem. My fix:
Step 1: Download a 2.1 ROM, such as CyanogenMod 5.0.6 or Enomther's 1.9.2
Step 2: Nandroid backup your current 2.1 setup
Step 3: Wipe, then flash the downloaded 2.1 ROM
Step 4: Upon phone reboot, sign into Google
Step 5: Go back to recovery and restore the nandroid backup
source

i have resolved it too:
go to recovery, wipe Data/factory reset + cache + dalvik
after that boot normaly up, register your google account, boot back into recovery, restore nandroid again, and voilla everything works

This is a known problem, see link. I have the same problem and unfortunately nothing helps....

BTW, I tried your solutions and the problem is solved. Thanks Guys!

[Q] Constantly Occurring MIUI Force Close Error

I recently installed MIUI on my Nook Color. It boots up fine, but I immediately get a Force Close message that says "The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." I get this message every 10 - 20 seconds while using MIUI. The message always comes up when I attempt to input something with my onscreen keyboard. I get the same error with the 1.8.5 MIUI install as well. The details of my installation method are below...
1. Booted into ClockworkMod Recovery v3.0.2.8 installed on an sd card.
2. Wiped Data / factory reset
3. Wiped Cache partition
4. Wiped Dalvik Cache
5. Installed MIUI 1.9.2 .zip (located on the sd card) file with ClockworkMod Recovery
6. Fixed Permissions with ClockworkMod Recovery
Am I missing any necessary steps?
Is there any way to fix the Force Close messages?
Regards,
Urhos
Sounds like what happened to me also. I did the install twice. Then figured WTF..reverted to Factory Reset to 1.2 and reinstalled from the ground up. Try that. Worked for me.
BTW make sure you use CWM 3.2.0.1
HTH
How would I go about reverting to Factory reset 1.2?

Stuck on "Starting apps." on Quarx cm-10-20130527

After a battery empty, I restarted my Defy+. But now it got stuck on "Starting apps." at the end of the boot.
I have to wipe data to make my phone ending the boot.
If I restore data which I previously backup in recovery mode, I'm still stucked with "Starting apps."
How can I debug the settings or data that avoid that? I really want to restore my data.

Are you using the new Teamwin recvoery to flash?
Ive had the same issue ( and many more besides that) for me, to fix the problem i did this:
Go back to recovery (Teamwin) and wipe everything
re-boot, go back to recovery (team win) and flash an older rom with clock work mod recovery, and let it boot.
re- start the phone and then go back to recovery ( clockwork mod) and flash the newer CM10 rom from clcokwork mod (First wipe everything /data/dalvik/cache/factory re-set)

Thanx,
Yes Teamwin delivered with cm-10-20130527.
What I done without success:
*Flash older ROM and restore more older data with CWM
*Push with adb unzipped
I should have flashed 10 to 20 times changing some steps each time. Each time I done wipe cache, dalvik and sometimes a data format and a wipe system.
I abandoned the idea to restore my data. Have to reenter all settings manually (find and enter account settings for CSip or some solooong preshared key for Vpncilla and so on).
Then what is positive: I format my data partition to ext4. I learnt a lot from very fragmented information for all those steps. I have a fresh new install.

You can use Nandroid Manager to use ur data while the phone is booted, so install it, it will find ur backup, and the u can do a restore of ur apps, with data.

"Nandroid Manager currently supports nandroid backups created by TWRP and Clockworkmod (v5.xx and v6.xx) based recoveries! ".
Very nice app then. Thank you too late. I immediately install it.

[Q] [SOLVED] Cyanogenmod 10.1.2 Reboot Stuck in Boot

[SOLVED] Hello,
This is the first time for me posting in a forum asking for help about an android device so go easy. I have rooted my Nexus 4 running Android 4.3 and installed TWRP 2.6.0.0 on it. That was the first time I rooted an android. I used Titanium Backup (Pro) to backup all of my user apps + system data. Then I transferred the backup to my PC. Then I created a nandroid backup using TWRP. Then I cleared the cache, dalvik cache, and factory reset the phone using TWRP. Then I installed Cyanogenmod 10.1.2 mako, which is marked as stable, along with the Gapps found on Goo.im. It worked successfully and I set up my brand new ROM. Then when I restore using TiBU, it restores successfully until it gets to about 70% where it begins telling me that "There was a problem parsing the package" or "x App not Installed". TiBu then instructed me to reboot in order for system data to take effect after the restore, and I follow that order. Finally, my phone gets stuck in the boot animation of Cyanogenmod. I've gone in to recovery and did the entire process of flashing the CM ROM again and the same thing happened to me again. So I just restored my nandroid backup and now am on the stock ROM again. I've tried to look online but could not find any solution or reason. Remember that this was my first rooted Android device and I am not a pro at this stuff. I'm not asking for how to get out of the boot animation (I already know that), just why this problem is occuring and some possible solutions. Thank you.
I think the reason might be that you are not supposed to restore apps when changing from one ROM to another. I read that somewhere online. Is that true and do you think that that could possibly be the case? I went from stock ROM to CM.
[SOLVED] i have found the solution. it was that i tried to restore system data which caused the problem. everything is great now!

HELP: soft brick after failed flash

Hi guys,
That is the situation: i was running Purity ROM + ART on my new Nexus 10. I've got the lastest TWRP installed.
Few minutes ago I've decided to flash KT Manta, in order to make some undervolt... but something went wrong...
The flash seems to have been successful, but later, during the chace wipe, the device suddenly turned off. I tried to turn it on, but I was stuck at the loading screen of the rom.
Then I went into recovery, I've tried to wipe chace again, but TWRP fails, and is one of the messages of error "unable to mount /chace."
Fortunately, before flash the kernel, I did a nandroid backup (of evrything except cache, unchecked by default). The restore seems to be successful (success, 135sec time), but I'm still stucked on Purity Loading screen.
So THAT is what can I do:
1 - I can enter fastboot menu
2 - I can enter recovery
3 - My tablet charges normally
But I can not load the ROM. Seems to be a soft brick, but I need your help. Pls: ((
Just flash the factory image. This will wipe the entire device. If you want to backup anything just adb pull fron recovery..
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Woooh i've finally solved it
That's what I've done:
1- Turned off the device for a while
2- Made a factory reset
3- Wiped Chace ---> no errors this time!
4- Wiped Dalvik chace --> no errors here too!
5- Restored the nandroid Backup

Restored Backup not booting properly? "#### has stopped"

Guys,
I have an S5 running Cyanogen Lollipop and Philz Touch 6.26.2 as the recovery. I was experimenting with flashing a new camera .ZIP earlier today but BEFORE doing so I used Philz to create a backup. The flash of the .zip for the camera went wrong and ended up prompting the phone to hang on boot.
I booted into Recovery and restored my backup...restarted the phone and it then booted as normal BUT as soon as Android had booted, it was unusable as I just kept getting the "##### has stopped" error messages, one after the next - the launcher doesn't appear and the phone is completely unusable.
I have tried a 'Factory Reset' and wiping the Dalvik cache, on boot it optimises all apps but then does precisely the same.
Please help as I'm travelling tomorrow and need to sort this tonight!!
Cheers

Backup restore also system apps and sometimes there are problems. I think you must flash the rom without backup.

Ok, this has given me an idea - I have flashed fresh Cyanogen and now I'm attempting to restore just the 'data' and 'cache' elements of my backup by using the Philz 'Custom Restore' feature...fingers crossed!
So, my idea worked...my phone is now back up and running, what a relief!
